Hi,
On a different forum I found a possible workaround to the flaky wifi in FXP119. I have tried it and so far it seems to work.
Please note, you will loose your wifi settings.
1. Deactivate WiFi
2. Delete the folders /data/misc/dhcp and /data/misc/wifi
3. Restart phone
4. Configure wifi

Anyone tried this? Does it work?
Is it working or not?

Tried it.
You need root access to do this.
Does not work at all. wasted my time.

If you're flashing a FXP kernel, it's already assumed that your bootloader is unlocked and you have root access.

Am i blind or is there anywhere in the post that says u need to flash FXP kernel?
He's talking about flaky wifi in CyanogenMod, which requires the FXP kernel and a possible fix for it. Does that answer your question?

Thanks, was just hoping it was a fix for the general ics wifi issues we were all experiencing.
Had the same problem with wifi in FXP125. Tried the fix and have not had any problems with wifi since then (one day ago).

Hi everybody,
I have a brand new x8, installed 2.2.1 cm but i have a problem, i cant use any wifi tether softwares, it says the kernel is wrong, barnacle starts but cannot be found. Sorry if it is a known bug, i don't really had time to google for it. Thanks for the answers.
it's a known bug, there was another thread like this today. we can't tether until we have custom kernel.

I have factory ROM but barnacle never workd . It shows tethering but client is able to find the conectoin
It works fine for me. Perhaps you are doing something wrong.
It works on custom roms, but after you're finished with your tether the phone will get the 'sd card is safe to remove' bug.
I have a Wifi problem:
I connect to a connectify hotspot, using WPA2 encryption.
My smartphone and my notebook are connecting perfectely, the A70 does not.
The WLAN gets connected, data can be transferred.
Then, after aproximately 30 seconds, WLAN disconnects.
This keeps going on, drops and reconnects all the time.
I tried not to activate WLAN through a Widget but in preferences but it didn't help.
Does anybody have a solution for this Problem?
You should try this app:
http://www.appbrain.com/app/wifi-manager/org.kman.WifiManager
I have the brand new 1.5b2 and the wifi doesnt work propably on this version, but with this app it does Try..
Wait...
This app is already in UD 1.0
Do you think the WLAN problems were known at release which is why this app was included?
I think it depends on the WiFi setup. I have problems at home, but never at work. From time to time i lose connectivity and when I try to reenable WiFi, it just wont start up. Catlog shows a lot WiFi errors. Rebooting the device is the only solution.

No, but the included wifi client on froyo can have problems with new PSK2 networks, so sauron included this app
Did it work with that app?
Does it solve my problem, too? i think not..

Then,
Backup your apps,
wipe your archos (reformat via recovery menu),
Install urukdroid 1.0,
If uruk 1.0 dont work update to the sedond beta of 1.5 its very good
I will, in a few days.
I am looking for another Rom, perfectely for me - see my other thread here.
Urukdroid is not necessary.
Is the 1.5b2 good?
I ignored it as it is a beta and I don't quite like betas

All works, except the cpu governor "conservative", but sauron add it again
Try it
Is there an easy install like in 1.0 or some kind?
€: This file?

Is it the b2 upgrade file?
Anything more needed?

I would prefer to you first completly wipe your archos via the recovery menu
After the wipe you have to install the archos firnware...
After that just install urukdroid 1.0 normally
Then download the urukdroid1.5b2 update file and put them into /data/Urukupdate
(You need a root explorer to do so)
Then you have to wait...
Your archos will be restartet

Hi,
You have to get a root explorer app
After that copy the downloaded file into /data/urukupdate (root), without extract!
Wait about 5-10 minutes, your archos will do the update, after that your archos will restart, and flashes the new rootfs
After that you upgraded succesfully
Unfortunately I am still experiencing enormous problems with wifi.
the connection is not stable. I have pings with terminal in background of 11000 ms.
can you help me with that?
uruk 1.5 b2
Hello, can our Xperia x8 be router? to provide internet..
good question
Well my friend has HTC Wildfire S and it has its own application to be internet HoTSpOT.. that is what i am askin ..
Now it can... but you have to install Netfilter by AnDyX manually
It's called WiFi Tether... Here
so you can use Barnacle Wifi Tether, but it requires root

Idk, ask AnDyX.
Jk, I think native tethering via wifi now works, but WiFi as data connection will not work again until you reboot.
You need to reboot to get wifi working again, after using tethering.

hi, i am from argentina and I have a motorola xoom mz605 (wifi - 3G) and i want to update to ICS, so I looked for ICS ROMs for my device, but i couldn't find one (neither Teameos nor official). I found roms for WiFi and 3G/4G verizon (and i think there is one version of teameos called everest, for mz601, or something like that) but not for my device.
Is there an official software update for my device? Or an unofficial one?
Is teameos developing a rom for this device?
Is this device fully compatible with MZ601 ROMS?
May I help to develop one? (Testing roms..)
I know there are ways to run ICs on my device, but i want to run it with 3G working
THANKS A LOT

I would suggest that you do some research on the differences, if any, between the 3G service in US vs. 3G in Argentina. If they are similar than you can give team Eos MZ601 ICS a go. If they are different, you can contact team Eos and either request a ROM that supports your service there or ask how to modify it yourself. The devs at team Eos are great and if they are unable to do it for you, I'm sure they could steer you in the right direction to modify one of their current ROMs.
Thanks, Can you please tell me where i can find team eos mz601 rom and how to get in touch with team eos? I am new here... please help me

The mz601 rom you have linked can now run the Rogue Kuma kernel for OC and you can flash universal-root.zip in recovery to root it

Use the "Universal Xoom Root" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1242241
Only work for me before running "fastboot oem unlock" again...
Like iBuzman said, for OC flash Rogue 2.0.2 "Kuma" kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1454863
Solarnz has been updated the Universal Xoom Root to work with ICS.
Try download and flash again.
Probably it'll work fine.

Thanks! It worked, now i have root access, but now i have another problem, firewalls don't work, I tried enetraffic, avast's firewall and droidwall. Firewalls do not work in ICS, any solution? Thanks a lot for your help !
It works on wifi, but no on 3G, i need 3g firewall please if you have a solution let me know
I think now it is working. I just have to disable "mobile data limit".
It seems if mobile data limit is enabled, 3G firewalls don't work (this info may be usefull for somebody...)
Thanks a lot for your help guys !

Hi.
I have a MZ605 that had Tiamat 3.2. I performed a Factory wipe and installed Eos-umts_everest-11 and EOS_GApps_ics_4.0.3_v10.4.
It seemed to work fine but I noticed it restarts once in a while, in an hour of use it spontaneously restarted several times. Once when ending a Skype videochat, another time when loading theverge.com, and a few times more.
Has anyone had this type of issue? Any recommendations?
Thanks,
Rodrigo.

The same is happening to me, but since I installed nightly 11, with nightly 10 it didn't happen. Now i am waiting to the 12th.
hello mates.
I know there are already some threads about tethering (i know, i used "search" before creating new thread)
My problem is this:
i flashed a lot of roms found in the developers section. miui, cm7 and oxygen, actually i think i have tested them all, doing the 3 wipes EVERY TIME...(god bless titanium backup)
I never got wifi tethering to work properly not with native feature nor with any app on the market.
with pc 1/5 could make the tethering
with ics tablet and SE x10mini i got endless connect-reconnect making internet unusable and sometimes i could not even find u8800 in the list of available networks.
I tried sharing 3g with SE neo v and everything went ok perfectly stable connection.
So my question is: has anyone, in ANY rom, got the wifi-tethering to work properly?
Thanx
Im using aurora and barnacle wifi tether. So far no problem.
Can you check your wifi mac please, it may be nulled.

Mac is ok, never updated to .35 kernel. I am sure that it is somehow prolly drivers problem on 8800 because if I share from other phones to my tablet connection is fast and stable
Could it been .32 problem?
