T-Mobile Using AT&T Frequencies? - Networking

I have a T-Mobile prepaid Droid 3 but it only does 1900 MHz 3G but the price is good. I haven't had issues so far. But I was wondering if I could find a way to get 3G here in Wichita KS? I know they are refarming certain markets and maybe does someone have a list of places?

I've been looking for a list of places getting the refarm as well.
No idea if NYC now gets 1900mhz 3g yet either.

I got T-Mobile on an unlocked LG thrill and I get 1 g speed and that's it. It works and is a very strong signal but 10 kbps download or so.
Southeast Louisiana.

Got edge now. Maybe it took the weekend to get it all registered. I can live with edge till I find a better network.

So I'm the one! OK so I will keep this thread updated. Tomorrow I use a coworkers boost card and see what short term results I get.

Are you getting 1900 MHz 3g?
Sent from my XT862 using XDA

No. Tried to change it to only.work with different frequencies (850,1700,1800,wcmda, GSM only etc.) but either edge,g, or no signal or fc.

No there is no way to change it.

No ... only on the Galaxy Note

It will work on T-Mobile 2G and/or 3G if you live in an area where T-Mobile has the 1900Mhz band, on AT&T though it will get 4G.

T-Mobile is transitioning to that. The 1900 spectrum is only working in some markets

Slightly off topic, but does anyone have a good website that tracks their 1900 band activity? Looking to find out estimates on a Chicago roll out.

Here is the one i have been checking a lot lately. There are others as well. Was talking to a T-Mobile rep via the T-Mobile forums and he is the one who started the site.

DC-HSDPA on three in the UK

In the UK The three network has an "ultrafast" DC-HSDPA network. Anyone who has a Nexus 4 tried this as I will be getting a Nexus 4 tomorrow and giving my I9300 to my Girlfriend. Just wanted to know how big an improvement the data speeds are.

I don't use Three personally but I've seen a friend get speeds of around 20Mbps
Yea the phone can use threes dc-hspa

I'm meant to be in an ultrafast area, but throughout the day speeds vary (in the exact same spot) from 0.5Mbps to 15Mbps, so yeah, it's great when it gives good speeds.
I get 1-3Mb/s on three in Southampton .......

I usually get between 7-15mbps in hull
Though only half the city has decent reception. Thankfully it's the half that I live in
Other half I only get between 0-1mbps
You can tell your on DC because you will get h+ instead of just h

Wow sounds rather varied but thanks I live in London and the speeds aren't too bad most of the time.

Just to note, H+ is actually HSPA+, which isn't DC-HSDPA, your phone unfortunately won't tell you when you're using DC-HSDPA.

Aio wireless

Today I bought the aio service (att mvno)and tomorrow my number should be fully ported. In my area att has lte service and was wondering if I change radios on the phone if I'll get lte? Has anyone tried this?

If att uses band 4 lte in your area, then you can use the .33 radio to get lte. There's only a couple of cities that att uses the correct lte band for the N4 to use it.

So does net 10 use sprints towers?
It depends on the phone. Some use Verizon, some use AT&T, some use Sprint, and some use T-Mobile.

If you got on T-Mobile, they've got decent 3g speeds (20-25Mb/s down in some areas with the right phone). But IDK if they would be throttled. This is called "4G" or HSPA.
