people like me any many other will wait for a few months until its prices goes down, i always buy a slightly used set, came from abbroad, i can save a lot of money like this.

i c that shophive have it for 59k but homeshopping offering it for 80k ... i have one x at the moment dont know if i should go for gs 3 or not... by the way htc one x is for 54k currently...

this isn't the actual official price.Even the GNexus first came here at 80k, now its 38k ($422) which is almost about 10k cheaper than the SII.

Homeshopping's quoted price is for 16GB not 64GB. Same will be true for shophive I guess.
Also, GNex couldn't compete well with S2... neither in market nor development. I hardly think S3's price trend will follow GNex's because of immense hype around S3 (S2 after a year of its launch has come down to PKR 40k mark)!

Yup you are right. Initial price always packs some premium for hype. Price will come down but may take some time.

No,i will be in Pune on 17th,then to Mumbai with 1 of my friend.
Both of us are going for SGS 2,as per now the dealer has confirmed 1.2Ghz+Super Amoled Plus version.But the final price he is saying might go to Rs 32,000 also but then as two of us are going for it,we are quite confident of the deal for Rs 30,000

my thoughts exactly. a big authorized retailer would not risk the reputation and the relationship with Samsung by selling a phone [under the table?] prior to the official release date. But I have never been to India, may be it is standard practice there

Not really comparable. Nexus One was already available as from January 2010 in some countries, so maybe it was an import model I don't know...
Here we're talking about a phone which hasn't been released anywhere worldwide.

Was it just me or was the Quadrant score in that video less then the one in the image posted a couple of days ago. It might be due to the processor speed or something else.
They might have the 1Ghz version.
I was thinking the same, I believe the score was 2500 vs the posted image of 3000.

They could just be reselling for another store. As they had a lot in stock, and not getting sold. So Dailysteals comes along and offers them to sell it for them.
I'll see if these are fakes or not, it might be a great deal, or might not!

Just out of curiosity, what's/where's the grey market? Only asking because, i'm taking my family to the philippines in 2 weeks...so it would be cool if Im able to get the Note 2 cheaper over there than here in SoCal.
Oh a gray unit is bought from places like greenhills or sulit.com.ph or tipidcp.com. These items usually come with no warranty thats why they're cheaper. Since you're going to bring the unit abroad it would be silly to get one here with warranty. Locally I'd recommend getting from gamextreme. It's a reputable shop and they have listings on sulit.com.ph

It depends where you got your phone. 2 friends of mine who got the phone in the gray market have the split screen through an ota update.

Google Wallet and Google Play Store were crashing down.
So they closed ordering for a while.
It's not sold out yet.
Though it seems they weren't ready for all the orders, so there might not be that many units left...

seems alot of people are having bad luck and some lucky bastards orders went through here
Between 10 am and 1pm I was constantly hitting the refresh button and on around 8 occasions I was greeted with the add to cart button, on one occasion I even made it to select quantity, the max being one handset, the rest of the times I got the stupid oops something went wrong screen
I have a sneaky feeling that something might give around 5pm UK time and not all handsets are in fact sold, fingers crossed

I'd keep checking throughout the day. It's possible there will be a lot of orders that don't process and some stock may become available again. Some people have already noted they've seen the COMING soon switch to available and then back again (I haven't).

Well that will be under 24K if you buy it from US...Again if after 16th May, some stable govt. comes in power(especially Modi), then there is a possibility of dollar going down against rupee....hope it comes under 50(extreme ideal conditions), then OnePlus One will be way cheaper for us...hope this comes true..fingers crossed

That is just for first few days...actually Oneplus has started this Invite system just to check the demand for their phones so that they don't end up producing a lot more than the demand...After 10 or 20 days, they will start selling it online without the Invite system.

Well that will be under 24K if you buy it from US...Again if after 16th May, some stable govt. comes in power(especially Modi), then there is a possibility of dollar going down against rupee....hope it comes under 50(extreme ideal conditions), then OnePlus One will be way cheaper for us...hope this comes true..fingers crossed

So best thing is to buy it from china(if HW config is same) and then flash CM on it....I heard that it will be available days ahead of normal launch outside China...

Actually once they receive the package, it generally takes around 3 to 4 working days.... Cost depends on the weight. Four or five phones will cost around 900(at most) per phone. Main problem is customs where you don't know what will be the charge as it simply depends on the mood of the custom officer charging...
