Hi guys I have a Tmobile HD2 and I have been facing a weird issue. When I use the touch installer aroma in recovery the touchscreen works perfect but when in android on winmo if I lock the phone by pressing the end call key and then after waking up the phone using the same key the touch doesnt respond same thing happens in android none of the hardware keys allow me to unlok the phone. However when the screen locks automatically after timeout and if i use any other hardware key apart from the end call button the screen works fine.

Unfortunately, your digitizer is dying indeed, it's a matter of time until it'll die for good.

Good solution...for now!
Is this problem really relatet to the digitizer itself?
What connection is between the buttons and the digitzer?
I have nearly the same issue, and its enough to just touch and wiggle the end button very soft to make the touchscreen stop.
=> Is it just a bad cable? or the button underneath with two circuits maby? One for light and one to activate/deactivate digitizer???
I would like to have some info to maby fix it instead of just replacing the digitzer (again).
If its the flat ribbon cable, it could be replaced alone or repaired. If there is some contact between button/cable and touchscreen it could be isolated and so on.
I repaired my hd2 a few times, but need info about this particular problem to know what im looking for.
So if anyone had this issue and could locate the problems source i woulde be thankful for some informations ;D
Maby there will be some fix guide for common problems around this problem if we put together some hints.

the u/2 button stopped working and starts randomly pressing itself every time i turn it on... and it randomly presses itself during texting as well and the u/2 button doesnt work its kinda getting annoying now.... can any one help or have any suggestions on what to do.... thanks
any ideas?
u/2 ...? What is that...?
It's probably similar to what happened to my Toshiba laptop. I'd get a pattern of letters/symbols when typing on it, because the case/keyboard screws were too tight and it spontaneously would generate these signals. I'd bet something smacked your keyboard or it was pressed too hard and something broke inside.
It's probably not user repairable, at least not easily, and probably a warranty workable item. Flash back to the stock ROM and send it in, especially if this only occurs when using the slider keyboard.
Hope it helps, even if it is bad news.

the u button on the keyboard.... and i dont have warrenty on it because i bought it off ebay and i live in canada its a tmobile phone. theres no way i can fix it? like it presses itself when i turn the screen on and sometimes when im writing texts.... but the actual "u" button doesnt work when pressed
It can be fixed, but I don't think it will be easy. That is, if it is similar to what I am thinking. If you're daring, or desperate, you can try disassembling the unit to see if something is cut or pinched, causing a short.
Is anyone here familiar with the hardware side of this unit?

I think it doesnt make a good contact with the mainboard.
If you press the button, does it feel different then other buttons..?
Otherwise it could be alot of things but the best thing to do is to take it to your carrier store.
Maybe they could do something for you.
nope the button feels just like any other button when i turn off the screen and turn it on it dials 2 a few times... and when i text sometimes the u button repedetly comes on the screen.... =( its so annoying
Hi All
I have a freaky problem with my HD2.
when i use the back button freeze my touchscreen. Only then, all other buttons work without any problems. to fix this problem i must turn off my phone (standby) and after the wakeup it works. On next back button use is the same problem here.
I have this with windows mobile roms and android roms...
I have recalibrate my screen without any changes.....
Any solutions?
Thanks Chris
And another waste of a topic.
There are more people with this problem. Probably your digitizer is ****ed and you have to send that thing for repair.
damn...
And why only with the back button?
it is also believed that the digitizer and using the hardkeys often are related to each other concerning the "non responsive'' touchscreen.
Has something to do with the wiring of the keys and the digitizer i believe.
Furthermore keep in mind that the phone is build for WinMo, and we all know how many times we use the hardkeys in Android in comparison to WinMo
at first i want to tell djsteve my congratulations for his streakdroid 1.9.0 rom. i think it's really amazing. unfortunately now i've got a problem with the touchscreen. when i awake the phone from the standby, sometimes the screen doesn't answer to my touch. the physical buttons work, but the touchscreen is dead. it turns on, but when i touch it nothing happens. is it a problem of the rom or it phone's fault. the only way to solve the problem is to pull the battery out and restart the phone. i hope someone can help me thanks to everybody will answer my request.
I'm having the same issue with the screen becoming unresponsive during or after a call. Pulling the battery is the only known fix
I had the same problem when listening to music with the phone in my pocket. Apparently its a known fault with the phone. Something about static causing the screen to heat up and therefore making it unresponsive. My work around was to put my phone in my pocket with the screen facing outwards, instead of inwards, think the heat from my leg and the static from pocket movement froze the screen. It doesn't do it anymore, with the screen facing outwards.

I have noticed this as well, however I just updated to the 351 rom so it's not a streakdroid problem. I think it might have something to do with AndroidAssistant app I just installed.
Recalibrate
To fix this issue usually all you need to do is recalibrate the screen by holding vol up,vol down and the power button while the phone is off and then when the text on the screen appears select screen calibration and follow the instructions after it says successful calibration wait for the menu to comeback up and scroll down to power off(you may need to select it more than once) . This problem is caused by the screen being affected by heat and sometimes after updating the screen needs to be re-calibrated so it wont be affected.

THIS IS DEV, NOT Q&A. MODs PLEASE MOVE.
what OS are you on? What do you mean by pressure? Pushing one of the hard buttons? or do you mean the Touchscreen does not work?
Have a buddy translate your question for you if you can't it is totally unclear what your issue is.
Thanks taknil...
my poor english
I'll take help from a friend
Buddy, your problem is related to touch screen or digitizer. The one way you can be sure about this is installing a windows rom again.
Then go to settings and try to align the screen manually by choosing touch settings.
If the above dont work presumably your digitizer is malfunctioning or the touch screen is having a micro crack somewhere.

Hello! Just bought an Optimus 7! Really good phone for the price!
But i got one problem! When im going to turn on the phone with the windows button its sometimes not responding!
Somebody else got this problem?
Yes. Happens to me all the time, but I always use the power button to turn on the screen so it doesn't bother me that much...
Sounds like a known issue.

Same here. It must be a software bug because the button is always working when the phone is unlocked.
If you still hold for a while it works
One reason for the screen not turning on is that you may be blocking the proximity sensor at the top left of the phone. The reason behind that is probably to avoid turning on the screen when the phone is e.g. in a pocket.
for me the start button for screen unlock always works, but many times screen is unlocked and all black, the systems listen to the touch input but doesnt show nothing at all....it happens very often usually when the phone is hot...
