I am a limited user and i dont use all those available options in custom kernal.
I dont use governers too.
Please, someone with kernal modding knowledge tell me how to make an overclock kernal.
I own an arc.
requirements:
i want all voltages and cpu states to be like in arc s.
no 10-12 cpu states. just i want it like in arc s.
no governers or tweaks. just like stock with oc.
no other options required like cust boot logo, ram swat etc etc, just no.
In brief I want a kernal like stock with only OC similar to arc s.
I am still using win xp and tutorials are more for linux and the tutorial for windows just doesnt work for me.
help. Thanks a lot.

Any guide for overclocking DHD?
HTC HERO - HTC HD2 - NOW HTC DESIRE HD & SAMSUNG GALAXY S Bring on the modding.
After rooting your phone and stuff, you will be able to install a new kernel (sometimes present in a custom ROM).
Different kernels support different options. Some let you clock the processor above 1 Ghz. When you have installed such a kernel, download the SetCPU app (also there on the marketplace). With SetCPU you can adjust the clockspeed.
Couldn't find a guide that fast, but it isn't that hard. Just install a kernel (or custom rom with a kernel) that support overclocking and download SetCPU.
Hey guys, i PLEASE want to know if there's a way to unlock the Xperia X8!
Free or not.
I thought there is a way to unlock it when cracking the Bootloader..
Help please..
Of course there is, I got mine done in April from htccode, wasn't cheap tho $50(dont be fooled by the 'All phones cost €15')
I'm from Austria. And i don't know how i can pay, and get a code from HTCCODE..
i have an idea..
we know that we cannot modify kernel on xperia x8, because we cannot "break" this "security"..
but SEUS can, cannot it? i've heard that eclair kernel and gingerbread kernel are different,
so we can conclude that xperia x10 will have kernel changing, from eclair to gingerbread,
i dont know exactly the version of their kernel, but we can use SEUS to use custom kernel on our xperia x8,
if you agree with my idea, i can give an steps that maybe you should do:
1. Make custom kernel and its custom ROM (hope you can modify the kernel so it supports swap )
ensure that the kernel and custom ROM dont crash.. i dont know which application provide virtual device for testing..
2. Modify SEUS,
In this step you make a local server from HDD, so SEUS updates the phone from this server (HDD)...
3. Applying kernel and custom ROMs
maybe if you have ensured your kernel and custom ROM compatible with your SEUS and xperia x8, you can apply them on phone..
im sorry for my bad english, i just want to give a little bit contribution..
i just can give this idea and some steps, limited by knowledge i can't do this my self..
however,
this is just an idea, your the man.. any one will have done my idea?
What are the benefits of an unlocked bootloader? I don't need to know how to do it, just the benefits.
What is the best custom kernel and what advantages does it have over the stock kernel?
Also if I were to brick my x8 while attempting this is there a way to get it back ?
Thanks
Ok. So I have an unlocked bootloader with custom kernel Linux dx. Now 1st I have noticed performance difference. Its faster than stock kernel with no unlocked bootloader. You also get higher overclock frequency but I prefer not to overclock. Also you get added modules. Search the forum using search button for unbricking. There's about 200 threads started by people who can't be bothered to use search button.
you can change kernel, and get more faster performance.. with nAa kernel, you can use latest custom ROM...
only that i know..
Unlocked boot loader will enable your phone to be used with custom kernels. I believe the best kernels as of now would be Alfs and nAa kernels, depending on which rom you are planning to use.
MiniCM7 on nAa kernel works great!
without unloacked bootloader youll lag behing in development....most new roms now support custom kernel....stay with the wind.....u want to get more from your old android buddy...then unlock the bootloader.....cmon guyz its not that hard..
Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N9005.
I installed a custom recovery and rom 2 days ago, first rom being phronesis 2.0 rom.
From there I tried overclocking my device but all apps show me 2.26ghz is the max my device can go, apps used include: kernal auditor, setcpu, trickster mod and no frills cpu control.
I searched the forums a bit and so I thought flashing a new kernel would help. I flashed Arter97s kernel and it still didn't allow me to overclock higher than 2.26 ghz, then I tried audax's kernel with no luck.
Then today I moved on to Tesla 5.1.1 Rom, and I still cannot overclock higher
I yet again reflashed arter97s kernel and still I am having no luck.
Any help?
Thanks

This is the limitation of the kernel. It provides the frequencies it supports, so you need a kernel with OC support. I do not OC, so sorry, no clue which to take which even is allowed to talk about here. ShinTo was supporting it AFAIK, but they had to leave due to not providing the source and thus violating the GPL.

I am able to overclock my 9005 up to 2.7GHz with mentioned apps. I am not sure which kernal I am using. I have Phronesis 5.0 on and am getting ready to flash 5.2. The only shlep is that I need to set the frequency after each reboot. I wish this could be included in a kernal.
Try using leankernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2488082 I had same kind of problem then I flashed this and used kernel auditor. Now everything works perfectly!
Can't Flash Kernel on note 3 sm-n900
I have been looking for solution at multiple sites. Hope to get answer here. I have downloaded a stock rom lollipop for my note 3 sm-n900.
I was successful at overclocking it to 2.1ghz but i want it to be at 2.7ghz and the current kernel does not support it.
I tried flashing three different kernels lk-hltemo 6..., lk-hlte v6 and lk-hlteu 6... using CWM and TWRP but kernel didn't flash.
Somebody pleaseeeee helppppp....
Read the thread .
But if you dont know what you are doing you will brick your phone .
So now that we know Oreo 8.0 is the last official version for our X compact, is there any way to overclock the cpu?
I mean it is already fast enough for anything but still I would like the ability to do that, even underclock it a little.
can we make a custom kernel for this device? or is there a way to edit the stock kernel with new clocks?
well i dont have much information about these thing, i only know that we need a custom kernel for overclocking and stuff.
Im on unlocked and rooted stock .118 oreo.
Also, is there a way to upgrade adreno/vulkan drivers on this device? they are outdated and recent drivers have been reported to be much better in other devices but why not sd650?? LINK HERE
