Not impressed....
Unless the sprint version has a physical keyboard then I might jump ship to the EVO when my contract is up in Octoberish.

Seriously? Headphone jack STILL on the top left? Do any of these designers ever play games or watch movies with headphones on in landscape? Probably the most annoying thing about my Epic is the headphone jack placement.
I don't really care for it.
It caters to me specifically and IMO I would purchase this device if it (the one in the pics) were to work with Sprint. Hopefully Sprint doesn't mess with it too much. I'm a fan

Personally, I actually like it a lot. While it's not mind-blowing, the TW UX isn't too bad, and it offers a few really cool gimmicks. I know for a fact it'll have a much bigger development team for rooting and ROMs as well, so I'm most likely going to get this over the Evo 4G LTE.
Hopefully this is the last GS3 thread. I will either lock down or merge new ones.

Hopefully it'll have the Exynos 5 Dual-Core processor (considering there's no chance of us getting the Exynos 4 Quad-Core processor).
If it's Snapdragon S4, then I'll have just have to compare the Evo 4G LTE and the Sprint's variant of the new GS3. Both of them having features I really like. The GS3 has a bunch of interesting gimmicks & accessories, removable battery, expandable storage, and a familiar way to root the device and install awesome ROMS on it. The Evo 4G LTE, on the other hand, has a better display, more Android-like, and overall a better UI (For the most part. I like the new GS3's lockscreen lol), and much cooler hardware design with a kickass kickstand (although, I like how the rounded edges of the GS3 resembles the Galaxy Nexus and even the Epic 4G. Wish the Evo 4G LTE was more like that)
Battery life could be a deal breaker for me too, considering the Evo 4G LTE has a 2000 mAh battery and the GS3 has a 2100 mAh battery. We'll see if there's any real difference.

Well, looks like we got some leaked specs of the Evo 3D, sounds good to me so far.
•4.3-inch 3D qHD capacitive 960 x 540 px display
•1730 mAh battery
•4GB internal memory with 8 GB SD card, expandable to 32 GB
•1 GB RAM
•1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon CPU
•Android 2.3
•Dual 5 MP rear cameras (3D)
•1.3 MP Front camera
•records 2D @ 1080p, 3D @ 720p
•Dimensions = 5.0 x 2.6 x .48 inches
•DNLA support and HDMI port
If that's all accurate, barring any serious drawbacks, that's enough for me to drop my epic for it even without a 2yr discount (outright)

Might make me jump ship when this is released!
Ya, I'd sell this phone for $200 and possibly my Evo for a phone with those specs. Plus you wouldn't have to put up with the drama here, so consider me SOLD.
I am waiting until Sprint decides on its future 4G plans.
Those specs are sexy but ill wait a few before i get it
to see whats going on with the Epic and also the pros/cons of it from other xda users experiences
This paired with project leapfrog makes Sprint #1 by far. Verizon no longer has anything on them. EVO 3D will win phone of the year, even of the iPhone 5 when it comes out in August.
I'm excited i wanna see what the new qHD displays look like
HOLY ****! 3D Pictures? That's awesome!
I'm already jealous lol
Hmmm... sounds kinda cool, but I'm honestly pretty happy with my Epic. Don't get me wrong. It sounds like a sweet device, but it's just not nice enough for me to justify switching.

Very true!
I will consider an upgrade (Premier Gold) provided a new phone meets my prerequisites of:
- physical keyboard
- 4" screen or bigger
- better camera (most important factor)
Somehow I missed that it will be dual core, not just 1.2 Ghz. I'm a bit more interested now lol. Although, that display would have to be pretty awesome... Unlike the previous Evo variations. Yuck!

You guys realise that our epic should be just as good over clock it to 1.3ghz and the powerVR gpu in our epics I believe are still better that the snapdragon ones. Plus that higher resolution on the qHD displays don't get as good framerates cause it taxes the cpu and **** harder didn't you see the thread that compared the atrix and other phones. I will keep my epic for now. I like my keyboard even tough it skips letters haha.

HTC Pyramid is the same exact phone (Yea, I know. Shocking news that HTC makes 45 exact same phones and just names them differently). Same processor, same resolution, with SLIGHTLY lower ram. LOL. GPU is utterly destroyed by the Galaxy S. Snapdragons are so crappy.
3D is just a gimmick. You have to have something that can display the images, and you have to wear those glasses. Its cool in theatre on the big screen, but on that little phone me thinks not.
I'll be keeping my Epic for quite awhile, planning on skipping the next gen just because I don't see it being much of a leap. When something comes out that my phone can't do then maybe I'll worry about it at that point.

The picture above makes it quite obvious with the “Galaxy S II” logo printed on the back. While this is expected to be a rather minor upgrade, with no major changes, a few improvements are expected, such as a seemingly larger 4.5-inch display, as opposed to the current Galaxy S II’s 4.3-inch one, and support for T-Mobile’s faster HSPA+ 42Mbps connection.
Much like the original Galaxy S II, this slightly revised model is expected to include the hardware and features that made the previous one successful, namely its dual-core 1.2 GHz SoC processor, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, an 8-megapixel camera and the ability to output fully uncompressed 1080p high-definition video through its built-in HDMI port. There are no apparent changes software-wise: much like the original release, the revised Galaxy S II is expected to include the latest version of Android, 2.3 Gingerbread, along with Samsung’s custom TouchWiz interface, which is aimed at streamlining Android’s standard user experience. The phone’s back now sports a brushed metal look as well, contrasting with previous Galaxy S II models.
Although the handset is not yet available through a carrier in the US, its release is projected to take place sometime this month. In addition to T-Mobile, this variant of the Galaxy S II is expected to also be available North of the border through the Canadian carrier Telus.

I've a feeling that the original "epic ii", which we'd all heard about, was scrapped due to the wimax. Iffin this was the case... with lte around the corner, don't be surprised if they delayed and remade the radio lte. Afterall, it was announced no more wimax phones.
Which leads to my question. Who here would upgrade there phone if its just the camera upgrade, a small processor upgrade(not even dual core), an nfc chip, and now lte capable?
Id honestly consider it.

Needs to be dual core and have some form of 4g, preferably Lte, single core is from a consumer standpoint "out of date" any single core phone is way less likely to get updates as well.

That's not worthy of wasting an upgrade. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one here who's in a wimax blanket. Thered be absolutely no reason to go from an epic to epic 2 if those are the specs. Maybe coming from the evo or evo SHIFT then yeah but in order for something to make this phone feel like a PoS needing an upgrade, the specs would have to be AT THE VERY LEAST different hardware, not the same **** just more polished.

the LTE part is great even though we probably wont have a fully rolled out LTE network till 2014 but the Quad core would definitely help with the over all smoothness of the OS and insure an upgrade to the Jelly Bean or what ever the next OS will be.
I want the note, but if not, Im 50/50 between the E1 and the SG3. Probably will have to see them both in person to make a decision. Baby mama is switching to sprint and wants my ET4G, time for an upgrade for Phatmanxxl!
Doesn't the battery seem a bit too small? I'm sure they have a larger one. Either way, can't wait until we find out all the exact details, exciting lol.

What are you talking about Sprint was the first to come out with a GSII and then T-mobile and AT&T come out with there's a week or 2 later at the time only the International edition was available
All the hyped units like the nexus or the note come later. Sprints cash is going toward network vision first. Phone models second. Verixon & ATT have cash to throw around sprint doesn't.
I'll venture as far to say the new nexus will be announced shortly after we get sgs3.

Yea but Sprint still hasn't rolled out LTE the main reason we don't have the Nexus and the Note was first released internationally then AT&T picked it up from Samsung and were still not sure if Sprint is getting the Note and if so im sure it will get LTE maybe that's why they are taking their time
the nexus devices coincide with the release of a new version of android. we won't see another nexus for at least another 6-12 months. i mean phones are JUST getting ICS.
Still gonna take them 6 months after the gsm version to get this on sprint.
Maybe Christmas 2012?
so leave sprint! i'm considering getting the intl sgs3, hopping on at&t and calling it a day. i'd really like some decent 3G. i don't make many calls so i'm not that worried about calls dropping or worse quality.
it could be one of those

in my opinion this really does look pretty i just dun like the place of the front camera
are you excited about the atrix 3?
Features(from a chinese website):
Tegra 3 processor
2GB of RAM
720p display
10MP camera with dual LED flash
Droid RAZR MAXX-level 3300mAh battery
source
Honestly, it kinda looks like a kirf droid. For AT&T's sake I hope the specs are amazing, we need a strong phone from Motorola .
Not a bit, but I do like that widget. Anybody know what it is?
It better have a tegra 3 and LTE support unlike the HTC one x.

No phone will have the tegra 3!!!! AT&T wants LTE and the tegra doesnt support it. Get over it. The S4 is better

What's your problem dude?
The Atrix two was a dud in my eyes but I doubt the third is. I wish this would have came out sooner if true. Just bought a One X three weeks ago

I hope Atrix 3 bootloader isn't locked like Atrix 2. Would be even better if this was a Google Nexus device with Jelly Bean pre-loaded. Liking my Atrix 1 international (non-4G) a lot, especially cause its quad-band HSPA.

keep dreaming lol
anyways about the phone, it kind of looks dull and boring adn the operator logo is there just to waste space? wouldnt it be smarter to put capacitive buttons there instead of wasting the part of the screen

Capacitive buttons? Soft keys on the screen is a better option for ICS. However, I agree that the carrier logo is ugly as ****.
well, soft keys just waste space on the screen for instance look at the htc onex, lg optimus 4x, and the sgs3 . All have dedicated buttons (gotta say i dont like the hard home key on the sgs3 though), which looks better and more useful at least in my opinion
I'm holding out on a new phone with a fingerprint scanner on it, I use mine every day

What a dreadfull waste of real estate.
On small screens mandatory eye candy (and badging) sucks.
