Signal problem in PDA2K..

hey guys...this is my first post here...
my pda2k keeps on dropping signals and sometimes halt during a call...
at first.....as instructed..2 time restarting solved the problem..
can you guys plzz help me out.......im using wm6

What version of Radio do you using ? Try to upgrade to the last version.

my BA info is as follows
ROM version 5.60.00 WWE
radio version 1.12.00
well from where can i get the latest version of radio??

wel..i found it..and i am upgrading radio...
less see what happens

im not the first one to have this problem..it ws in 2003. 2005 and now in wm 2006 now....
dunno what to do.....dont wanna throw away my pda2k

Maybe it is an hardware problem?

If your problem is in WM2003, WM5 and WM6, just get the phone to a repair or a recycle center....

but the thing is ..it was working fine....
and after installing a resh rom...it works for like 2 days with no problem...
im sure that its not hardware issue....
its the same problem....which everyone esle is having in this forum..abt signal dropping...dun think tat this harware problem can come to lot ov ppl at the same time...

the problem is with the phone company...
my pda2k also gives me similar problems...
but when i'm travelling to some other countries and using a local sim card there... i do not see any such problem... even while roaming sometimes... i do not see any problem with the current sim card.
i think it is the home service provider which has the problem.

If you have signal dropping, replace the flex cable.
The flex cable signal dropping is a common problem to any slide phone.
In fact I slide the phone halfway to test the signal if it will drop or not.
No signal drop means good flex cable.
Same case with Nokias and other phones.
I've had my friend's BA flex cable replaced and signal drop is solved.

also, one old battery can do that issue.
with my older battery, it used to cut connections sometimes. with the new one, keep connection.

hmm...but the thing is...that this fone was working fine in my country i.e Pakistan..but its giving problem here in canada.......and it actually came from canada before....
i dont know what to do....there were also issues like that with my imate-Pocket pc before...and now same is with PDA2k...
i have chaged a lot of sims...but no success.......

I personally believe that there is a bug on the radio dll.

In your case, activate only the 1.900Mhz band or the 850 / 1900 band only. I believe that the former is better, though.
I've been only using it for the last 2 days, but so far so good.

Well same problem here in Bulgaria. We have 3 Telecoms. Unfortunately i have subscription to one of them and some times like every couple of months I have the same problem. Green light blinking, but when someone is calling me - out of service. It rings, but after i pick up - it drops the call and gives "No service" This last for about a day or so. When i switch sim cards to another service provider - it works fine. The same thing happens when I travel from one town to another. I thing this is due to poor software configuration in the GSM towers. Overall for three years this happens to me like 10-15 times for couple of hours to one day. And I have this problem only with one provider only. No work around as far as i know.. Sorry

Definitely the problem is software. I'm from Brazil and my operator is TIM. I tried many ROMs (at least 10) with the same symptom: if the phone misses the signal, I get into troubles to find the signal again and it keeps finding another operator instead TIM (in my case it only finds Vivo - which is 850Mhz).
After those many trials, I found a ROM that solves the problem partially. It's the PV DVH 19701 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=390008&highlight=19701 )
With this ROM, it still looses the signal when on a place where the signal is not present and don't find while returning to a place which the signal is present, BUT, I just tap the antenna on the top of the screen, tap settings > network and finally tap "find network" and VOILA, the signal is back without much pain!!
One more thing is a little change on the registry according to a recommendation from Microsoft. Using one registry editor, go to:
HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone and change the value for "Features" parameter from 204c7d8 to 206c7d8. Remember that before you change, you need to choose the view mode to hexadecimal.

Signal is vary bad

About few weeks ago my Htc Tattoo signal become to be very bad or sometimes full gone. Tried to flash different ROMs, insert different SIM cards, but nothing changes, signal is bad too. When i bought the phone, signal was perfect, becouse I live in a center of the city. So, please, maybe anyone know what the hell is wrong with my phone?

I heard, that it is possibility to reinstall something radio rom. Said, that can fix the problem, but where should i find it?

I have the same problem here. At the time i use the original HTC ROM my phone was connected with 3G and/or HSDPA, but now with fyodor i have the problem that the best connection is 3G.
I don't know how to solve the problem - maybe it is only a display error...?
Is there a application with wich i can test (or see - that is better) how the phone is connecten (GPRS, 3G, HSDPA...)?

Please, I really need your help. If I took the phone to the guarantee service, they just reinstall roms or something, and nothing changes. I tried to download one radio rom from there http://developer.htc.com/google-io-device.html#s4 but when I am trying to flash it, the error appears and says, flashing aborted. I am using Amon RA racovery if that means something. So, maybe now you can help me?

Try to change your network only to GSM instead of GSM/WCDMA.

I tried that... I tried every option, which is associated with connection.

Htc Tattoo is a very very bad phone...

Yea, I've seen this. After a week about, when I return from the trip, I will took my phone to service. They wrote me that, if it is held more than a month, phone should be replaced with the new one.

I brought Tattoo as a birthday gift for my gf,now it bacome the excuse of being late when we date......because she said she can not call me on time. and I never help her solved the problem.(both of us major is telecommunication in the university,what a joke.)

1 turn to 'only gsm',
2 manully select oprator, there appears two local oprators, but no radio button on the UI, I'm not sure if it means selected. (do this at where signal is strong)
3 I try to turn on/off 'fly mode' at somewhere no signal.
4 flash other later roms.
no use at all.
on my table signal none. at the window signal full.
but it just 2m between.
my new wildfire and O2 mda is OK on the table, 80% signal.
I like HTC,I just don't sell it as 2ed hand,(half price now......)
I heard flash the Radio can make it better or solved, any one know the details?

see it happens like this
I'm standing INSIDE my home
watching the signal
as it goes from full to half to none to service un available
all of this happens while I'm standing watching my phones signal dangles
and I cant make calls longer than one minute and then the call is dropped
that is also while inside my home
when standing outside
the reception is most of the times fine
but the call quality is below average
there is drop outs and weird sounds
I tried different radios (2.10 and 2.12 and 2.15(stock))
I tried different ROMS (windows 6.5 and 7 and android)
I never dropped the phone
maybe the only thing I did was removing the battery from the phone alot because I was trying to flash android when I first got my phone
please Admins and Experts in this great forum
help me cuz I'm about to go crazy
my phone is a T-Mobile HD2 with a yellow reset button
current ROM : Rafdroid HD2
Current Radio : 2.15
Current state : Hunting for network and draining off the battery

What was it like on original ROM !
you could try a T-Mobile Radio & matching rilphone.dll or flash newest t-mobile ROM complete with radio & test to see if firmware issue or hardware.
Is reception in/near your home known to be a bit weak ?

Aint the rilphone.dll a windows based file? If so how would that have an affect on android? Im also having a signal drop issue

Well rilphone.dll is used in conjuction with the radio firmware, when in android it will not use the rilphone.dll so could cause issues for some users pending on network ect ect !
You are using droid ROM with Radio package designed for WM,just my thoughts.

but I didn't have the chance to test it under the original win mo
but the reception was fine when I first bought it and I was using a non primary sim card in it
so I didn't really notice
but I travelled to another country
and started using it along with another sim from the same carrier in a nokia phone
the nokia gives full 3G coverage
while the HD2 is hunting for the signal
so any thoughts ??

I thought Android ROMs are known to have issues with 3G !? check thread of your ROM as may have info on this.
Have a look in HD2 wicki if you want stock ROM.
I use my HD2 worldwide, Thailand, Singapore, China, Japan, England, USA on Energy ROM (Dinik version) & radio 2.12.50 & reception works normally with 3G available when using SIM on 3G capable networks.
Android is still a bit buggy for some users & to be honest Android does not seem worth the hassle to me as a good WM6.5.x build set up well is far better.

I flashed the latest version of the stock WinMo on my device and it seems like nothing happened
still the buggy reception issues
seems like the antenna inside the device is not sensitive enough to receive proper signal because when I go to the roof of my house the signal is fine
but when I stay inside signal drops and comes back almost regularly
I just cant belive that this is a hardware problem
because since I got my phone I never dropped it
maybe the only thing I did was removing the battery while the phone was on a lot of times....
??? im so confused ???

I would like to add another thing
when I put my fingers on the bottom right corner of the device ( right behind the on off key ) the reception works flawlessly
and as soon as I remove my fingers it goes back the way it was
so this is a hardware problem right?

What was the ROM number & what radio was included in ROM ?
If you have warranty or insurance you could try getting a replacement.
Looking like it could be antena related !

when i first got it i think it was working fine and i was flashing a bunch of different roms. then like a switch when i installed one random rom "core cell android nand" it had really bad reception.
it doesn't matter what i cant fix it, install or flash, i have crappy reception. i have put different sim cards where the "original phone had good reception" and still no change. i put my sim card in another phone and it has a good signal. i also tested it in a another hd2 and it 1whorked fine.
cant send it in, i bought it off of somebody.

Signal issues on HD2

Hi,
Im having problems with my HD2 signal. The problem is that it searches for my provider on startup for about 2 minutes and gets max 1 to 2 bars only on the second floor of my house, although when it has a connection it has 3G. Its mostly at no connection.
I have a second HD2 aswell and that is running okey even in the basement.
No warranty, so no point of suggesting that.
Ive flashed many differents roms and radios, didnt help.
Any suggestions I should try?
Where is the internal antenna located of this phone?

try swopping sims to see ifs its the sim, assuming they are both on the same network
If not swop out the sim with one thats compatable

Naah, its not the problem of the sim, because one of the hd2 works perfect with my sim and the other doesnt with the same sim. So if the second one doesnt have a grudge against my sim then it should not be a problem of the Sim. Thanks for the advice although!
The question im quite interested at is where is the internal antenna of the HD2, I would like to check the connections.

It's a know problem with many HD2's i think some sort of bug in android. Switch to 2G network only in the settings and ull have full reception all the time.

Try to remove the battery over night, and then reflash with Radio-ROM and OS-ROM of your choice.
worked for me, no signal issues since I did this.

+1 Definitely check the radio you are using.

im having this same issue. it just happened yesterday. its not the sim card i know that for a fact. im running android on it nand. what is radios??

You can flash a different radio version just like you flash other stuff. Be careful and read the directions though because you can brick the device doing a radio flash.
Go to your phone settings and "about phone" and you should find your radio version. Most of us use 2.15.50.14.

Read and find out what might be best to use for your carrier and or location. I used 2.15.50.14 because it was recommended by TMOUS users which I am. Some people test different radios and see which seems to work best for them.

The radio controls stuff like your carrier signal, bluetooth, wifi, etc.

Having some trouble with that also. So, the steps are:
Reflash Radio, than android and see if it works?
If it doesn't, anybody knows the best Radio for brazilian carriers? (Mine is Oi Santa Catarina)

[H870] Can't turn on radio signal - no cell reception

Hi everyone, my H870 has seemingly given up on me out of the blue since about two days ago and refuses to connect to mobile networks, or even to search for them for that matter (trying to manually search for networks give back an error). I'm afraid the issue might be hardware-related which would be a shame as the phone is otherwise fine. I've tried changing ROMs (going from and old AEX AOSP to LineageOS, with full wipe) as well as kernels (Melina reborn for AOSP), to no avail.
Switching sim cards also didn't change anything, the sim is detected and it asks for PIN but then no network, which leads me to think it's a radio chip issue. Activating radio in the *#*#4636#*#* menu doesn't prompt the usual restart, and auto-untoggles if i go into another app then come back to it... IMEI is fine and not corrupted.
I'm really close to giving up on this phone and buying another one, but I thought maybe you guys would have another idea of something to try that could work before I do that. Couldn't find any similar threads on that matter but please point me in the right direction if this issue has popped up before !

EDIT : Flashed original firmware (H87030a_00_OPEN_EU_OP_0829.kdz), to no avail... I believe this is the end of the road for this phone and judging by the lack of answers you guys do as well haha
