Statusbar disapear - Milestone 2 General

Hi,
My statusbar disapear few moments after turns my phone on.
I've tried:
-Wipe cache and data;
-Instal another SBF (both 2.3.6);
-Install a app from PlayStore (Super Status Bar);
And I ever have the same error: a sound of error, bar freezed and, seconds after, my status bar disapear.
Thx!

Did you select 'wipe all' after you've applied the new sbf?

Hi,
Using any "root" file explorer:
Code:
go to: /system/app/
find: SystemUI_Old.apk
rename it to: SystemUI.apk
turn off the device
turn on the device
and that's it!

use root toolbox
then go to reboot option in root toolbox
then go to restart staus bar

[Solved without flashing] Messed up TouchWiz.

Right, I applied this mod and didn't install another launcher as a backup before hand, now all I get is a black screen wit the top bar when I boot up the phone. (it boots fine, just there's no launcher)
Is there anyone out there that can provide me with an update.zip with the original touchwiz.apk for JM1? If there is anyone that can do this it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Luke.
EDIT: What I did was found a way of getting to the market (via a link in a text message that was sent to me and accessible via the notifications bar) and hence could access all my apps. I then downloaded another twlauncher.apk (it was jm8 but works fine on jm1, I'll post it here) and followed the instructions in the mod thread to put the modded launcher on the phone, but instead of pushing the modded one to the system/app folder it pushed the non-modded one, thus fixing the phone.
The link sent in the text was "http://cyrket.com/qr/15550" it searches for a tower defence game but you can then use the search to get to "Terminal Emulator" which is the app used to move the .apk in the first place.
Steps to fixing the launcher:
1)Get a TouchWiz30Launcher.apk (different firmware versions need different ones?),
2)Put the launcher.apk onto the internal SDcard (/sdcard/) I did this via USB mass storage, if you have Kies as default for USB or something other than mass storage then follow the next step but find "launcher pro" instead to get into the phone settings list to change USB settings.
3)Send a text to your phone with "http://cyrket.com/qr/15550" or another link to open the Android Market,
4)Search for "Terminal Emulator" to open the app,
5)Follow these steps (found in the mod thread):
chickie.tobias said:
3. type su then hit enter
4. type mount -o remount,rw / system then hit enter.
5. type cp -f sdcard/TouchWiz30Launcher.apk system/app then hit enter
6. type sync then hit enter
7. type reboot then hit enter

That's it, this is how I fixed my TouchWiz
Right I've managed to installed LauncherPro but I'd really like to be able to get TW back, can someone please help?
Also I keep getting force closes saying android.process.acore has stopped working... No idea what that is either...
Hi. I had the exact same problem. Only solution for me was a re-flash using Odin. But at least I now have Froyo.

One more thing. Don't try a system wipe, it will make things worse.

Hey there, I was thinking of doing that but I found a (crude) way of sorting it. It's now fixed with a new twlauncher I'll post a tutorial once I'm home on how I did it to see if it can help anyone. =)

as far as i remember, CWM will be removed each time you restart your phone, unles you have a custom kernel/rom.
but its been long time ago when i did that x3
If stock there is a file that needs to be removed or renamed,

No. You merely need to rename / remove the install-recovery.sh script in /etc to prevent the stock recovery from writing at boot.

Yeah, restoring the file will then cause the stock recovery to be written upon reboot (if you want to go back to the stock recovery for some reason).
same but i solved it
clockworkmodrecovery rom manager find and install
open it and touch flash clockworkmod recovery(first item)
select reboot into recovery manual
mount and storage select
mount USB storage
unmount
++++ go back +++++
install from zip sdcard
find
'' super user.zip'' flash
reboot
es file explorer select setting mark root explorer and mount file system after
select phone in file explorer find etc folder select and find ''install-recovery.sh'' file and rename file for example ''install-recovery.sheski'' and
open rom manager again touch flash clockworkmod recovery(first item)
check it...

Sometimes when I restart my menubar is missing, how can I start manually?

As the topic says, when I reboot fire I don't have a menubar. I am using stock, with some additions. What is the location of menubar app, so I can start manually with root explorer?
Thanks
Cp
If you are using nolock this can happen. Just toggle nolock on and off after a reboot and that will fix it.
Not using nolock... No idea...
Yes I am using no lock. Will try toggling.

Efs folder is not empty.
Use root explorer or file explorer with mount option and do the following:
open file "factorymode" in efs/factoryApp directory, it probabely says "off", change to "on" (yes "on" is the correct setting to turn it off), then save
reboot

and i think that power menu is gone also...
go to efs/imei folder, and make a file called "keystr" (without " ") (it is probably missing)
open "keystr" file and write "on" (without " " ),save. set permission of the file (all ticked).
But unfortunately, i think that your efs partition is corrupted. You must make a backup for this partition after rooting.

I managed to get the yellow text away by uninstalling the factorytest apk.
I have tried to install stock firmware trough odin no luck there to. How can I make a backup for this partition?
Now my mobile network works to, I managed to fix it by turning my simcard lock of. The only problem that is left now is the lockscreen and powermenu. I can use the keystr solution and it works but every time I reboot my phone the /efs folder gets empty. Please help me im so confused

I got it to work! I followed all the steps and when i was done I edited the keystr file in hex editor so the values was 4f and 4e and all others 00. This solution worked but its not permanent, each time I reboot the phone I have to do the same thing again, is there any permanent solution?

Yeah I have followed your advice but the only way to disable the yellow window is to freeze/uninstall it :/ The permissions are all ticked (0777). Even after a reboot. Tried the solution from post 2 and 6 ...

[FIX] Cant turn WIFI on? You are missing this file

So after lots of flashing of different roms on my Moto G 2nd gen (XT1068) I ended up unable to turn WIFI on in any rom, including stock!
Thing is, after days of breaking my head with this, I figured out I was missing the WCNSS_qcom_wlan_factory_nv.bin file from the /Persist folder.
How did that file go missing and why it was not restored when restoring to stock or flashing roms? Dam good question, I don't have an answer to that yet, BUT, I have a fix.
Simply download the attached .rar, unzip it, and manually put the WCNSS_qcom_wlan_factory_nv.bin file in your /Persist folder using any root explorer / file manager on your device and reboot!
Such a simple little thing gave me so much trouble, hope this will help future users who might face the same problem, as I already saw around that other people are also having the same issue.
This should work for any Moto G version, even the 2013 model, XT1063, XT1064, XT1068, XT1069, all share the same WIFI file.
Happy surfing on your now working WIFI!
Nice Work!
I have that file in /persists but still no WiFi.

Most likely its the perms issue. If you have 'adb' and can connect to the phone using adb, do this:
adb logcat -d -v time | grep "avc: denied"
right after a fresh start. If the file shows up in that grep, it means that you are running into permissions issue. And it can be fixed if you have root.

I also tried to reload the stock boot.iso but that did not help me in this case. In the end what fixed this issue for me was to wipe the phone and load cyanogen mod 12.1.
I downloaded the following files to my phones SDCARD before starting the process below.
cm-12.1-20150816-NIGHTLY-titan-recovery.img
cm-12.1-20150816-NIGHTLY-titan.zip
gapps-5.1-arm-2015-07-17-13-29.zip
0) reboot into fastboot
1) fastboot flash recovery cm-12.1-20150816-NIGHTLY-titan-recovery.img (this was done from the command line on my Mac, and that file was on my Mac at the time)
2) reboot into recovery
3) choose "Wipe data / Factory Reset"
4) choose "Apply Update" -> "Choose From SDCARD1 -> "cm-12.1-20150816-NIGHTLY-titan.zip"
at this point I rebooted but could have probably installed GAPPS right away. The wifi was working again at this point!
5) choose "Apply Update" -> "Choose From SDCARD1 -> "gapps-5.1-arm-2015-07-17-13-29.zip"
I think I will stick with CM for now. I've used it in the past and it was fine.

I have the same issue like you guys, and i've already try to copy the file to the /persist folder, with all the permissions... and nothing but error message pop ups (I can't modify the files in the folder, but accidently I erase one of the WCNSS files. It doesn't make any sense)
I've also tried to install the stock firmware to my XT1068, several ROMs with LP 5.0.2, 5.1, etc (everytime doing wipe cache and data); and the issue is still going.
What can I do? Downgrade to KK can restore all the missing files?
Maybe I can copy a /persist folder entirely with all the files... I don't know.
I'm running out of ideas! And I don't want to live with the idea of 'no-wifi' in such an excellent phone! :crying:
Thanks for your time, guys!
