Guys I m new in the forums so please bare with me..I was about to place my order for nexus one it was sold out,,now I don't clearly know the reasons why they stoppd selling it..but couldn't get a good deal anywhere,in amazon its about 600-650$ .is it worth the buy?as I have a feeling froyo my be last update for nexus and no more..and suggest me some good alternatives please..

Froyo will NOT be the last update for the nexus, gingerbread won't be last update for nexus either
But good alternatives, I would say samsung galaxy s, but don't expect updates from samsung, froyo prob will be last update for galaxy s, it will be the community that provides updates on it
Motorola looks like it will lock down all of its future android phones, so I can't recommend them
Any new htc android will be the best choice I think

Support for a costly product which I get to buy once in a while is must,,galaxy s is a real good phone but without a smooth interface and I don't expect frequent bug fixes from Samsung(I use a galaxy spica I hate samsung for no updates), how about the htc desire?
Edit: saw some videos about no multitouch but only 2 finger support (pinch to zoom only)for nexus and desire, and the faulty multitouch on both devices,do they really matter in real usage?

Just register as a developer ($25) then buy a nexus one when they're back in stock ($520 + tax).. and to answer your question: yes, it's worth it

I dont know if the dev version is better, but it wont be worse.
And should you buy a Nexus One? All I will say is this:
Im playing Final Fantasy VII right now with the new Playstation1 emulator on my Nexus at FULL SPEED WITH SOUND.
Nuff said
Can i get a link to that emulator and ff7
Muchas grassy ass
I don't think any phone is worth that much.
I did TONS of shopping around and waiting and ended up getting a Nexus One for 350 through Craigslist.
I'm insanely happy with my buy, but if you need one ASAP, just register as a Dev
I have one for sale on ebay cheaper than that but its on locked and on T-Mobile bands

I meant unlocked and comes with a desk dock

Honestly I would probably spend that much for the nexus simply cause I think its the best on the market still simply because its the Google developer phone. Clean vanilla android, updates right from Google, will get gingerbread, and its the best build quality still out there.
Or buy mine currently in the XDA Market forum.
I'll happily ship anywhere

Yeah, the htc desire would be good, because essentially its just a nexus one internally, only difference is buttons, optical sensor (instead of trackball) and 64 mb more ram and of course sense ui.

You can go to https://www.google.com/accounts/Ser...sh&followup=http://market.android.com/publish and register as a developer. It is a one time $25 fee
The HTC Desire is getting Froyo with 720p recording. Is the Nexus One going to get that officially from Google?
is there a way to get HTC desire in Canada
Hello,
Is there a way to order and get HTC desire in Canada?
I will be interested to get this one (HTC sense is a cool option to have)
Phil
Are we gettin an update for gingerbread 2.3 tru samsung kies? i read that sgs gt-i9000 got the update already.... Is that the official? are we gonna get that to for our sgs vibrant... Thanks....
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
I was wondering the same thing!
I9000 was the 1st SGS and is also unhindered by carriers restrictions.
The us will get 2.3 on the us galaxy s phones when the carriers decide they want to release it.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Ask yourself: Knowing Samsung, would you really want download the stock version of 2.3 thru Kies or wait for one of our awesome devs. to get a hold of it and make it better (I'm counting on you Team Whiskey). I rather wait since I'm running flawless BionixV1.3.1 I'm in no hurry.
Bionix 1.3.1 is awesome lol

Oh I got it... So our carriers will make the last decision if were gettin the official update.im thinking tmobile wont give us the update. Cause nobody will upgrade there phone if our vibrant will get gingerbread and tmobile wont get any contract renew from all thier virant customers. Cause,im now upgrading to any new ginger phone that they have I git official update...

hey guys
i want an advice about buying a new phone (am keeping my x8)
am confused between :
sony ericsson xepria arc s
and htc desire hd
and please throw me a couple of new advices about phones that has android platform of course and about the prices of these two devices thanks
this might help
http://bigphonefight.com/htc-desire-hd-vs-sony-ericsson-xperia-arc
(i know its just the Arc not Arc s)
and what about HTC EVO 3D? 1 gb ram, dualcore cpu, big screen and price around 260 euros (at least here in slovakia)
Its expensive I can't pay much more
Sent from my E15i using xda premium
i don't know how much does it cost in your country but it's cheaper than desire hd and arc s here
Really ???!!???
Sent from my E15i using xda premium
yes, it's cheap, most probably because HTC thought that it will be bestseller, but nobody wanted it and HTC had already produced many components and they need to sell it out
well it seems that its not that much expensive
but still looking any other choices although i might get the evo3d
Q: what are things that makes evo 3d undesirable????!!!!
its a great phone!!!!!!!!!!! the greatest !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would suggest xperia s ..
Cost 450+- here ..

I have a Samsung Showcase and plan on upgrading to a newer phone. I like my showcase but I get bored of looking at the same thing over and over again. Especially since there are only few roms available for cspire. I still have several ps1 games I like to play and I herd the xpheria play will play these. All is all would the play be worth the upgrade for a gamer? From what I read the specs are the same.
Just a question, is the phone really difficult to root? My showcase was very simple, like the rest of my android devices.

Rooting takes about 2-4 minutes.
I'd recommend DoomLords Easy Rooting Kit.
That's if you do get the Play

Or better yet just buy one that can/ has its bootloader unlocked then you can flash a custom kernel and it will always be rooted no matter what
Sent from my R800a using XDA App
I would love to do this but I will only be able to offored a new phone if I sign a new 2 year contract. Main reason why I'm trying to get opinions.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using xda premium
Rooting the phone is just a button click on the root option in Flash tool.
Sent from my R800i using XDA
You can root but custom roms like cm9 that are not stock based will not work unless you unlock your bootloader for $24. I suggest something a bit more advanced than the xperia play, only get it if you can get the r800i. If I were you I would not buy it and I would wait for the something like the new S3 to release where I am.
I don't think there are any new xpheria models coming out for cspire otherwise I would wait. Is there no way to unlock the boot loader for free?

Hey guys,
I'm leaving the X8 community as recently I faced water damage on my beloved X8 and the repair costs are way too high.
Will miss you all.
BTW, can anyone suggest me a good phone? Pre Android 4.0 prefered.
Note 1..or samsun galaxy s(you can install jelly bean rom ah is cheap now)
