[Q] google play store issue - Acer Iconia A500

Hi to all, I'm having this problem when I search for anything in play store like Skype for example I get no results found, I've cleared app cache cleared data and force close but I still get no results found. Anyone have any idea what's going on?

I have same problem, tried same fixes.

Have you tried turning it off and on again? Since the update to ICS I mean. Have you tried holding the power button for 1-2 seconds until presented with the Power Off prompt, then hitting OK, waiting a few seconds and the powering the device back on?
I've seen a few odd issues after a large update that were fixed by reboot.

Solution to the download loops?

Has anyone found a solution to the download loops? I'm sick of them now as I cannot use any purchased apps..
I purchase apps from the store and they get stuck in a download loop.
There has to be a solution for this. I've tried clearing the cache etc for the market, download and gmail AND have rebooted and cleared the dalvik cache etc to find nothing works...
Sometimes cancel the download then hit install again..this wor for me...let it alone then..for big ones I do this and leave it alone..for smaller files as soon as I hit install..it already downloaded just did not install for some reason.
Happens to me often. If it gets hung up hit the back button and go to my apps in market go to the bottom of your apps on the left where it shows apps waiting to install and click on it. accept the permissions and install works every time for me

Not for me. I've tried clearing all the cache's, even booting into CWM and clearing the cache and dalvik.
Still nothing..
If you click install and nothing happens, power the tablet off (hold in the power button til the menu pops up, then select to power off). When you restart and go back into market, the app will install correctly.
*Don't* cancel and try again. While this will usually, eventually work, it will also often result in apps not appearing in the My Apps list, or appearing as uninstalled when they're already installed.
If the powering off trick doesn't work, you've probably already upset market to the point where it is corrupted by doing repeat installs. I had the exact same problem myself, and after wiping my tablet and starting from scratch, all is fine with the powering off method. I still get ~50% of my app installs doing nothing initially, but 100% (20-ish apps) have then correctly installed after a power cycle.
All this said, it is a really, *really* annoying bug that I hope Google fixes soon.

Didn't work. However I upgraded to Prime 1.5 and all my problems went away

[Q] Some apps have started closing immediately on opening

Earlier today, a few apps on my Nexus 7 have just started closing within one or two seconds of opening them.
Google Search Bar, Facebook and Catch Note all close within a couple of seconds after opening them. I have used them fairly frequently for the last few weeks with no problems. Other apps, such as Twitter, Chrome and some games all work fine.
I have turned my device on and off a couple of times, but the problem still persists. Any ideas?
The problem is still occurring for me.
Gmail, Calendar etc... all also closing within a second or two of opening. Is this a common problem?
Is your N7 all stock or do you have a custom rom?...custom kernel?
You really need to provide some information in order to get help.
I haven't seen it in the OP so: Reinstall them

I haven't rooted my Nexus, or anything like that, it's all stock.
I just uninstalled Facebook, then downloaded it again. It seems to be working. Other apps still have the same problem. I assume that I have to do the same for all other apps - but is that even possible for apps such as Gmail, Calendar and the Search Bar?
Uninstalling and re-downloading hasn't worked as I had hoped.
It seems to have worked for Facebook. But I did the same for Catch Notes, and although it worked for a minute or so when setting it up, after creating a test note, it force-closed, I opened the app up again, and the old problem of closing within 2 seconds happened.
Other apps such as Gmail, I uninstalled, 'updated' again, and nothing changed, still closes immediately. There is no error message, it just returns to the home screen.
I thought that Task Killer might have been a problem, but I uninstalled that, restarted the Nexus, and the problem persists. Actually, when I turned off my Nexus, and tried to turn it back on, it was stuck on the 'coloured X' screen for a few minutes, I had to hold the power button down, and turn it on again. I'm starting to worry about my Nexus now.
Update:
A couple of other odd ones.
Google Drive doesn't even open. When clicking on the icon, the normal shading effect happens, but nothing else, no window even for a second.
Google Calendar opens, and just has a white screen, as if it is ready to load the calendar, but nothing loads. It doesn't close, just remains on the white screen, which can't be backed out of without pressing the home button.
Have you tried doing a cold-boot on the device? Maybe another app running in the background is causing conflicts. Where there any recent apps that you've downloaded?

I have just followed the instructions for a 'cold-boot' and now my Nexus can't get beyond the 'X' screen...
I have held the power button down a number of times, and tried turning it on again - but the 'X' continues to be displayed for over 20 minutes.
Just managed to turn my device on - but the problem still exists.
I didn't download any new apps that seem to have caused this problem. Though I think an app might have force closed and the Nexus displayed an error message such as "android/Google system stopped working" (probably different) and my home screen went blank for a while. Everything reappeared though after a short while. It could have stemmed from that.
Sorry about another bump, but i'm wondering if anybody has any more ideas before I go for a factory reset?
Edit: Actually, I think that I have found the cause of the problem. I just opened a game (Let's Golf 3) that I was playing before the problem started and after a few seconds, a message popped up saying "Unfortunately, Launcher has stopped". When I press OK, it returns after a few seconds.
I pressed the sleep button, and my Nexus turned off. Now trying to turn it on again, having some problems getting past the 'X' screen again. If I finally get in, should I uninstall the game? Any other solutions to this problem?
If your N7 can boot up, go the isolate & identify routines - disable/uninstall or freeze the golf game - do a normal shutdown/restart.
If normal functionality is back, you've just found the source. Not a gamer myself except for Angry Birds ... , but from the Play Store description, it access & make changes to system & protocol, etc. as you should contact/email golf's tech support for resolution. Otherwise, take a look of any background running apps or widgets, newly added or updated.

Thanks for the help.
I couldn't get my N7 to boot up, so I finally gave in and did a hard reset (by holding power + volume down, Recovery Mode, then wipe data etc...) but my N7 still won't boot up
I have wiped it twice, and rebooted it, yet it is constantly stuck on the 'X' screen. What on earth can I do?

I would flash the stock system image.

How would one do that?
My N7 isn't rooted or unlocked.

You will need to download the factory image, unlock your bootloader, and flash it. There is a guide on this forum, it might be stickied.

I was hoping there was going to be a resolution to this other than a "flash to stock" suggestion... My Nexus started doing this exact same thing this past Sunday when it ran out of power completely and needed to be recharged. After it powered back up from charging the following apps quit working altogether or just started quitting once it appears they try to access data: Netflix, Currents, Zillow, Gmail, HBO Go, Press (though Google RSS Reader works), NVision, TegraZone and a couple others. I have done the reboot thing as well and almost had this thing brick again (stuck at X), but I managed to clear the data cache from the fastboot menu and it started up again. I'm now at the point where I'm troubleshooting individual apps but the clear data/cache, uninstall - reinstall process isn't working for any of the broken apps. This is now the 4th time I will be facing a 'flash to stock' situation as it appears that I've had every problem that leads to this 'fix'. I'll try a couple more things (mostly deleting and clearing everything) but I'm really frustrated with how many times I've had to flash this damn thing. sigh.

Phone UI freezing - forced to manually reboot

I'm having an issue where every couple of hours my Galaxy S8+ freezes. It gets so bad sometimes to the point where the UI is totally frozen and I cant do anything except for a force shutdown via the power + volume down button combination.
I cant put a finger on what app might be causing it but ive already tried running in safe mode and still observed the issue.
I have also tried clearing cache from the recovery menu and i still experience the issue.
Hope someone finds a solution! I cant even use my phone as a test device for work anymore because of this and every couple of hours my phone locks up entirely and I am forced to restart it.

You can uninstall some apps if you like and see if it changes anything. But if you believe, that you have tried most options, then do Samsung back up and then try factory reset and see if it corrects issue. Otherwise you may need to contact Samsung for help as it maybe a hardware issue as well.

Anyone have issues where apps take FOREVER to start downloading on nougat?

This wasn't a problem until I updated the phone a while after I got it. When I go to the play store and download a new app, it shows "downloading" with the weird fragmented bar moving across the progress bar, but the download refuses to start for like 5 minutes to sometimes several hours or a day. I've turned off every power and data saving mode I could find and it still does this. Factory reset, force stop, clear cache, clear data on all google play related apps (yes, including the system apps), and it WON'T STOP DOING IT.
Haven't had this issue on my Z3Z but I have had this issue on my Nexus 7 tablet once or twice. It randomly resolved itself I don't remember how. You can try deleting your google account, uninstalling all the play store and google play updates and reinstalling them. That may help.
Good luck.
I have this issue too and have been unable to resolve it.
I have the same issue. I'm to the point where I simply leave them be and eventually they download and updates. It sometimes works if I restart the download, reboot the phone, switch from wifi to data to wifi again, things like that.
This might be overkill, but ever since I factory reset the phone I no longer have this issue

Try clearing the cache of the google play store app in settings, if not then all its data. Also, if you just upgraded to Nougat it would be wise to make a factory reset (in recovery mode) to clean up the residual Marshmallow files, if you don't feel comfortable with that, then at least clear your device's cache and Dalvik (in recovery mode)

Multiple problems-Notifications delayed, Play Store downloads stuck, Some apps broken

Hi, I have a Galaxy S10+ on Verizon in the USA.
Having a few major problems that I just can't figure out:
1. When I try to download apps from the Play store, the download gets to 99 or 100% but never completes the installation. The fix is to go into settings/apps/show system apps/download manager and "force stop." Then the installation will complete.
2. Some apps don't work correctly. For example the CBS Radio News app starts streaming audio, then stops a few seconds later. And the ParKing app sometimes records my location upon disconnection from my car's bluetooth, and sometimes it doesn't.
3. Notifications from all apps are totally unreliable. Sometimes they'll come right away. Sometimes not for hours, and sometimes all at once. And sometimes when tapping on a notification it will bring you into the app. while sometimes it will do nothing.
WHAT I TRIED:
Tried rebooting, clearing data and cache on problem apps.
Cleared data and cache on "Google", Google Play Store and google play services.
Cleared phone's cache partition.
Uninstalled and reinstalled broken apps.
I THOUGHT I FOUND THE SOLUTION:
All these problems went away a month or so ago when I logged out of my google account on the phone. Iogged back in and it all worked great! I thought the problem was solved, but now it's all happening again. Logged of the the google account and back in, but it's still broken this time.
AND:
I had similar problems with my Galaxy S7, and thought the new phone would fix these problems! Is it possible there's something wrong with my google account? How could I have the same problems on both phones?
I haven't yet tried a factory reboot on the S10+, but I did do it on the S7, and after working for a while, the problems came back.
Additional info:
Mobile data and wifi have strong signals.
No custom ROMs, not rooted or anything, just stock the way it came. Only downloaded apps from Play Store. Nothing sideloaded.
All battery optimization is turned off. Power mode set to "high performance."
I've looked everywhere for a solution and have come here to the ultimate experts. You're my last hope!
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
