change unique android id - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Is it even possible...several apps are locking / blocking based of ur device id. And since soo any many games etc are using same base services, then any old game u used to play affects new ones.

That may help. Perhaps there is some sql editor for android. I dont really have a pc access for a while

XDA App Store

Just wondering if anyone has thought of or better still started to build an XDA App Store.
I am thinking of an app we can all download to our phones, it will auto see what phone you have and only show those apps from XDA users, auto download updates of installed apps, auto download dependancies etc.
I have used an iphone hacked with cydia and such and it is much easier for downloading programs in this manner.
Just my 2 cents guys, I do hope we see something someday.
I know that you said that it should be XDA-specific, but another option is called App2Date.
Take a look here:
http://www.modaco.com/content/windo.../lend-your-support-to-a-generic-updater-tool/
I was thinking of making one myself, but I definitely do not have time to even start such a project. I'm fairly busy with other ones.
Its not quite what I imagined.
That program does the updates, but like cydia for a hacked iphone you should be able to download new programs as well.
I honestly don't think it would be too hard or dificult to make.
All we really need is an app to list the programs based on the device and wm version your currently running.
The only problem will be to find somewhere to store the apps. A solution could be a simple databased maintaned and hosted by XDA, that will list the program name, details, OS and device information (so you can get the correct version for your phone) and a direct download link to the cab file. This way the apps can be hosted anywhere and we can avoid having to run and pay for a huge data transfer of programs.
I can possibly help with the database if anyones interested in helping to write the actuall app. Then the listings can be maintaned by xda registered users.
Hi,
i am one of the developers of mobile2day.com an we have the possibility to provide a big database with applications mapped to several devices. So we can show only applications for a specific device.
We have allready a mobile solution running on http://mobile2day.mobi/en/usd/index.html where you can buy and download applications. Maybe we can think about to add beta software, too.
Please, if you are interested feel free to contact me.
I was owner of an iPhone before I bought my Touch Pro and besides the fact that the iPhone is not that good it has one big advantage: The AppStore
I would love that kind of store for WM Apps

[Q] Question about android plarform and app developing

Hi,
I'm using Motorola Milestone. A lot of times I have to update a new version of an app which has several bug fixes for Nexus One. As I know that the Milestone and Nexus One are running the same Android OS version (2.1). I just wonder why a normal application (such as Calendar or Note) must be dependent on hardware? I mean the same application version that works on Milestone but some of its features don't work in the Nexus. Let's take an example of Windows OS. We can install Firefox, Winamp or even some low level interacting program like anti virus in any computer (Lenovo, Acer,...) as long as they're running the same Windows version (like Vista). Is it a down side of Android platform?
I think I have a similar question. On my work the have a winmo databas app that work like an workordersystem. Can this program run in Android by any chance or has it to be rewritten to work on a Android platform?
I managed to install my application on the SD card by using to apkInstaller.
I thus wanted to test the installation from Android Market... My application does'nt settle down on the SD card but on the telephone... Why ? Nevertheless I added in the manifest the option android:installLocation="preferExternal" !
Needs to make other thing ?
Thank for your answers !
It's mostly localization.
Either developers ask google to make their app available only for certain devices, or certain manufacturers ask google to make only certain apps available.
If an app is built against the SDK, then it's compatible with all devices that share that SDK version.

Android Market issue

hey guys
I've used a lot of different roms already and i recognized that the market doesnt list all apps since theres a device filter. Is there any way to emulate another device ? For example a desire hd so i have access to all apps? I also used apps to emulate my carrier etc. but that didnt change anything
Are there any apps that you are specifically looking for. I have experienced this same problem with only certain apps being shown because of certain devices. On the other hand, The Android market seams to be removing a lot of apps that are technically Illegal like most of the MP3 music apps. My phone is currently listed as the Sensation and I am still having trouble finding certain apps!!

Is there any way to keep a download of office 2010 mobile, in case I have to a hard reset?
Cheers
G.
You couldn't make a backup of the cab fine & keep it on your computer? Sorry but that would be the best advise i can give.
Since i'm normally on Android a lot more i wouldn't know what the best way would be but thats what i would do. It says the programs
will still work once installed but new ones wont be available on the market.
WM died...
I've been using WM for 8yrs & never needed the marketplace so the lack of it now is no major concern, I have all my favourite apps & best builds stored on SD & on Notebook & also on my FTP so I have my own personal appstore ...
You can do the same & most apps can be found easier & with better reviews/tips by using a good old browser & search engine.
I even save apks for android as next time you want it the build may not be free or may of changed in a way you don't like so relying on a appstore alone is never the best option.

Can share those apps ?

Android apps with Google services requirements

What about those android apps which are using the cr*p google services (aka play services)?
Is the installation easy? Seemless? Does the services need a signature ?
Do you need to patch the apks with this requirement?
All this questions are because in BlackBerry, normal android apps work fine but these using the google services are a pain in the ass.
The worst is that many android developers include this depence when the apps doesn't need it...

On Jolla Phone and Jolla C you can install Google Play Store and all necessary services, should you rely on it. It works in most cases seamlessly. The only limitation Alien Dalvik (the Android Layer) imposes on you is the lack of device settings integration. So should an app require to be set a platformwide default like for example Divide PIM asks to be your homescreen, it won't work as Jolla shows the android apps along the sailfish apps and does not have an android specific homescreen
If you need any help, I will link you to a few easy tutorials and howto's
Very useful information.
BTW, has Google any way to stop or create future troubles in those OS such as cyanogen or Sailfish using the Google services? I don't trust much in google, every day they are more close to the Ms behaviour in the old times,
