No most roms have a version for stock kernel, if you don't want to flash another kernel , is not required.

Help - I cann't install custom rom on my x10

Hello everyone, I would like to have some help about installing custom roms on x10 devices...
Being honest the one who has the problem is my friend, he's in México using a Telcel Xperia X10, and we did all the steps for rooting the phone and so on.
The phone has already superuser and xrecovery, but when we try to put custom roms for locked bootloader always obtain the same line "Installation aborted". Of course we follow the threads abouts roms but nothing....
I don't know why this mistake?? Did anyone have the same problem??
The phone: Android 2.3.3, baseband 2.1.71, compilation 3.0.1.G.0.75....
FlashTool_0.2.9.1
Trying to install XSP rom for locked bootloader
Please if someone has a solution I would appreciate it so much or send me a PM...
Thanks.....

Hello , I guess you are getting the error because you are using rom.zip for unlocked bootloaders . Make sure you are using the correct zip file .
Or else you can unlock the device via latest flashtool (Flashtool in X10i developement section) then proceed with installation . It should work .

I'm very sure that the rom I'm trying to install is for locked bootloader even unlock the boot wasn't a solution...
i think you can check the information book first, to make all things right, if can not find it, try internet.
You can find all useful things through this, then make your phone good, Good luck.

Zenfone 5 random freezing on every Lollipop ROM

I faced random freezing on every Lollipop rom I tried in my phone (RR, CM, Stock, Gecko), with bootloader unlocked, and with bootloader locked, and tried with various kernels too. I can't use Lollipop on my device because this problem, typically occurs when I'm on Youtube or when I'm charging the phone, but occurs when I'm using the phone normally. Anyone else have this problem?
For more details, my model is Zenfone 5 A501CG 1.6 Ghz 8GB
give details of your phone..
boot to bootloader and write its version..
may be you have installed wrong version bootloader..
many people have faced this problem after bootloader unlock..
Search the forum..
solution is available..

Every time I return to stock, I use the downgrade tool to 2.21.40.44, and re-lock my bootloader with correct file from rom, and flash stock fastboot and recovery. Even with locked or unlocked bootloader, system keeps freezing randomly, in stock or in custom roms...
on which version are you currently on.. are you on kk . 44 ? ? ? ?
are you on stock..
provide your phone details..
can't help you if no details are available..
---------- Post added at 06:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:00 PM ----------
random freeze is generally associated with incorrect bootloader unlock or incorrect root..
many tools which unlock bootloader change your base version..
and many tools which re_lock bootloader will keep the changed version..
I had same issue..
I found out correct version of my bootloader..
then made sure that my locked bootloader was back to correct version..
I had to unlock & lock my bootloader many times with many different tools to finally get to correct version..
hope you understand what I am trying to say..
hope this helps..

Currently I'm using AICP ROM, with bootloader unlocked by Unlock_relock program, it's freezing less now, much more less than in stock. How i can discover the correct base version of my phone? I've tried different methods to unlock my bootloader, but the freezing never stops. And even if I relock, in stock ROM still freezes. I'm facing this problem since the first version of official Lolllipop (3.23.40.52)
Where I can find dnx and ifwi for A501CG model to unlock bootloader without change version?

The only ROM that has no freeze issues on my phone is the Stock KitKat. Even with locked bootloader, stock Lollipop freezes every time...

Before doing all this u need to revert back to stock KK firmware or even stock lolipop.I recommend stock lollipop. For both u can find instructions here http://www.windroidica.in/2015/07/how-to-revert-back-to-stock.html?m=1.After doing the above mentioned procedure then u should run the root.bat(ur phone will reboot many times) and then unroot.bat(again ur phone will reboot many times). This fixes the issue mostly

Go to stock kitkat.Cause the root tool works best for that. After u have done that and fixed the freeze problem then u can update to stock lp firmware( need to update to bridge kk firmware first)

I will try that too. But in zip from AICP ROM there's no dnx or ifwi files. But it's a RR/CM based ROM, so I think the dnx and ifwi files from RR will work with that.
Try going back to firmware you were on out of the box. Remember to relock bootloader.. It will say secure image when u flash locked bootloader and kernel.. Then use any of devs unlocker here and flash again.

How do I unlock the bootloader for the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime?

I'm wanting to flash a custom ROM onto my phone, but first I need to unlock the bootloader. Looking around google and it only shows me how to flash a custom ROM onto the phone without showing me how to unlock the bootloader.
How do I go about doing this? My model is GT-G360G.
Thanks for your help.

It means you have to have a custom recovery like TWRP and CWM.
You can google these two recoveries and flash them via Odin

Dude the bootloader comes unlocked. You just have to install a custom recovery to install a new ROM (a custom ROM)

Touche my good man ...Touche
But most of the links dont work
Go to settings and go to "Developer Options" if you dont see Developer Options, go to "About Phone" and spam click on "Build Number" until you see a toast message 'Youre now a developer!". Then go back, go to 'Developer Options'. Then turn on "OEM Unlocking". Note: if you have a passcode/pattern/password set, enter it. Then it will warn you that some security features will not work while its turned on. Then click OK to turn it on.

How to unlock bootloader at this stage. MUST READ.

Hey guys I cannot enable oem unlocking on my device in developer options. It just doesn't allows me to do thet stuff eith my device. However the bootloader itselt is unlocked and it also displays when i restart the device. I just wanted to ask as if I can flash any custom recovery/root the device or flash a custom kernel ? Will I be safe with that ? Or else I also need to unlock OEM in developer options as well.
flash ek, i had this problem too and solved it

you can try flashing a custom recovery, if it's really unlocked it will work, if it doesn't, it'll just say command not allowed and nothing else

Yes you need to unlock the bootloader and install twrp. There is a step to step video here which you can follow and get your device bootloader unlocked, twrp installed, and rooted.

On exynos devices, the boot loader is unlocked, you just need to flash TWRP.
On Qualcomm devices the bootloader locked and you need to unlock it.
as you have SM-G935FD which is a exnos device, you can skip the unlocking step and use TWRP.
