So I read the "If your HTC Glacier is bricked, read this" and my situation doesn't seem to apply to it being bricked OR not bricked. (photo attached)

I wanted to downgrade from 2.3.4 to 2.2 and followed this guide by Setherio:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1178912
I followed this guide religiously and everything worked until the point of the actual downgrade. (Fastboot Downgrade Step 8)
The 'Manual Downgrade' didn't work for me, so I tried the 'Fastboot Downgrade' and on Step 8 I arrived at the black screen with gray HTC logo, but with 4 exclamation points in a triangle on each corner.
I'm not able to hard reset or even get into Hboot. I also tried using the cmd line code (>fastboot-windows flash zip StockRom.zip) one more time like the guide said, but got the error:
C:\android-sdk\platform-tools>fastboot-windows flash zip StockRom.zip
sending 'zip' (319593 KB)... OKAY
writing 'zip'... INFOadopting the signature contained in this image...
INFOsignature checking...
FAILED (status read failed (Too many links))
I've tried rebooting via cmd line and I only get the black screen with HTC logo.
Though, when I unplug my phone from the computer I get a quick glimpse of Hboot:
I'm at a loss of how to proceed and would greatly appreciate help!
Thanks,
L
Try placing the 2.3.4 PD15IMG.zip on the SD then boot into boot loader. If that does nothing, I'm as lost as you. Sorry.

"fastboot reboot" might bring you out of RUU flash mode and back into normal mode.
[edit] It won't. Here's an explanation, why:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23497027
You need to flash /misc partition with something that will not have the RUU flag set.
So just download and flash the correct RUU.
And then you'll be able to download a correct ZIP file, because if you failed the manual mode - most likely you're trying to flash a bad ZIP, screwing up your phone in process. But I believe the phone isn't dead yet.
Make sure to check/verify that the md5 checksum of the PD15IMG.zip matches where you got the file.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA
PD15IMG.zip
if , you need to get the PD15IMG.zip file on your phone , and the phone cannot power on , get a micro sd adapter and plug it in your computer if you have a 5-1 card reader .

Hi Guys,
i have a very specific issue.
Its HTC hero which been upluged before finishing official upgrade to froyo.
So, where is the problem?
Hero cant boot, all the time just stay stucked on "HERO" boot animation. The problem is, that it was upgrade from stock Eclair to stock Froyo. They didn't have any root, or recovery (CWM, RA, nandroid)...
The phone can be started in hbot, fastboot, stock recovery.
HBOT->
I've found this > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=575448 < but i think its need a function hero to set up setup.
So there is no way i think
Fastboot->
I've try to flash recovery with AR, CWM via
"fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
but only get this
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",

}
Stock recovery->
I've also try to flash via "apply update.zip from SD card" from this
http://www.modaco.com/topic/291942-22jan-stock-roms-radios-in-updatezip-format-for-gsm-hero/
every single file crashed "E:Verification failed!"
I'm such a big noob, but is there any way which i didn't try? Something like flash CWK recovery mode via update.zip? Every idea can help.
Thanks
Do you have your hero drivers set up on your PC?
Also, when flashing recovery.img using fastboot, please rename your clockworkmod.recovery.blablabla.img in recovery.img and then try to flash again.
as i thought so
prntscr.com/aun85 <its a link, but i'm newbie here, so i have a constraints
but its exactly the same as the file was named clockwokrmod.....img
Driver should be ok (get from android-cellphones com)
Q: how can i access the adb? In device manager a use this driver. But in cmd "adb devices" cannot find my hero. But idk if it helpfull.
Sorry for my english
When your phone is plugged in your windows PC (in hboot mode), check that the driver installed is called My HTC (in device manager), then download the latest RUU under HTC Hero support site (not the 2.1 one) and run the program, it will erase everything, but if it is successful it will install the 1.5 system to your phone, and you can start over
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Problem was solved via hboot mode. Thx guys
Hello guys, just wondering if there is a way to reload the factory recovery partition?
I am getting a demigod error and cannot do anything in recovery once I try to restart into it, but the phone when restarted works fine with the factory image.
I tried to load a custom rom and done screwed up
I did make a recovery backup, but I am pretty sure I screwed it as I was trying to copy recovery.img to the phone during some un-bricking troubleshooting.
Thanks
Okay guys, I know I should be doing my own research but I'm stuck.
I found this youtube video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQVTc2m6U-I
I've downloaded all of the LG G2 D801 T-Mobile files:
http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2/D801BK/Stock_Firmware/20a_partitions
I am able to get ADB to recognize my device and I am able to 'send' commands via fastboot BUT my phone doesn't seem to accept them.
I've tried via command line and using SRK tool:
Here is what happens when I try to run the fastboot commands in fastboot mode (UP button + USB plugin)
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Here is what I get when I try to run SRK Tool:
So as you can see from the output, the phone is detected and it seems like the files are in the process of being 'sent' but nothing actually installs.
When I was doing it in command prompt, I let it sit for a few minutes for a few commands and they just sat there at writing.
On the phone itself, this is what it states at this moment:
[500] fastboot mode started
[500]--reset--
[500]--portchange--
[500]--reset--
[500]--portchange--
[500] fastboot: processing commands
[500]fastboot: getvar: partition-type:laf
[500]fastboot: getvar:max-download-size
[500]fastboot: download:00e00000
[500]fastboot: flash:laf
That's all I get on the phone, nothing changes. It just sits there idle.
I am unsure what to do and was wondering if anybody knows how I can fix this?
So I seem to be having some kind of issue with the phone not accepting fastboot commands and/or my computer is not recognizing fastboot.
I did install the ADB/Fastboot installer. I have Java and SDK installed.
When I try to run ADB devices, it identifies the device.
When I try to run fastboot devices, all I get is:
command prompt> fastboot devices
? fastboot
That's all.
Anyone? I am having the same exact problem and have not found a fix yet.
Look at my last reply here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/help/g2-fastboot-mode-t3427770 it may work

HI GUYS, please join to the discussion:
iv'e opened an investigation thread on the android general hacking forum, so, maybe we can get help from the devs / hackers on xda, because here i don't see anybody that listens to our problem.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/pls-help-to-meizu-pro-5-to-life-t3494293
Hi All,
This is my first thread i hope i will get help to solve my problem,
The Phone Model : LG G2 D802 , Stock and not rooted
The Problem : I tried to upgrade its firmware using LG Flash Tool 2014, it has 4.2.2 firmware and i tried to install 5.0.2 Lollipop, but maybe the firmware file is not compatible with the device to its Bricked!
For now the phone is booting into fastboot mode and the computer can detect it, but the problem that i can't ran any command to flash again the 'laf.img' file, tried 'erase' and 'flash' and a lot of command without success.
Here is what i get when trying to flash the laf.img file, i can't post a link because i am a new user :
" target reported max download size of 1862270976 bytes "
" sending 'laf' (15872 KB) ... "
" OKAY [ 0.550s ] "
"writing 'laf" ..."
And it stuck on writing laf ):

Tried to install new driver but still the same. What you Suggest ?!
Thanks a lot !!
How the heck did you try to install Lollipop from Jellybean..
Use LG FlashTool and go back to Jellybean. Remember you need to flash the recovery first by using a specific root method which gets around the bootloader verifying the image - or something along those lines.

Bootloader unlocked? Did u try fastboot boot IMAGE?
BTW: you can rename your image and give it a shorter name.

@GamingBar, this ^^^ (making shorter name). I've had many commands error out with random errors simply because the pathname and/or filename was too long (Windows is stupid for never being clear that that's the reason why the command doesn't go through).
Also, what version of fastboot are you using? I'm concerned over the "preflash validation failed" -- when I flash my monthly factory image for my Pixel, there is an extensive preflash validation; so I'm thinking either fastboot version is outdated where it is having a hard time flashing or this type of image or to the moto G6 is meant to be flashed in either a package or a particular way to your device.....

the fastboot version is up to date because it's asking for logical partitions. this is not the outdated Minimal ADB crap or sth.
the way of 'fastboot flash boot ...' is the recommended way in the PE install guide.

if the fastboot method keeps failing you should use TWRP by 'fastboot boot TWRP'. DO NOT flash it because it won't decrypt your data then. In TWRP you can flash the Pixel recovery image. Then reboot to recovery and the Pixel recovery should boot. Then flash the ROM.
DO NOT flash the ROM in TWRP!!
