Hello everyone,
Development for this device is dying.
I don't know if it's because there aren't alot developers for this device,
but i personally want to see some more different roms for this device with their
own pros and cons.
Maybe we can get some more people for this device to develop,
by putting up a tutorial on how to build roms and make modifications to them.
I myself am not a developer, but im eager to learn.
Therefore i ask the few developers here, would you please work together in putting a tutorial up?
I will gladly help wherever i can.
And maybe that will bring some new life into this old but good device.

Hi first of all. Im posting this in General section because I am new here. Hey Im a proud owner of SG3 and now I want to do something for my phone. For months I have been trying out custom ROMs, Kernels and blah blah blah. Now my wish is to develop my own custom ROM or to port Gingerbread on my device but im a beginner and have no knowledge about programming. But if somebody could tell me a way to learn all this and a kitchen to bake professional custom ROM I would be glad. Hey im sure I could learn in a few weeks and then start a project so that Sg3 moves to a new level. Please devs I want to learn everything like programming, baking roms, modding, theming... Everything just tell me a way to to all this. Im sure if anybody could help me learn all this one day it could help all SG3 users. Please dont think that making me learn all that would increase you competition for custom roms. Please I dont want anything just I want is to learn and then something for our beloved SG3. I hope all devs all help me out. Thanx in advance. Please its a request.

Porting requires a lot of programming knowledge with too much time...and also has the risk of bricking your phone
I would suggest you start of with trying to develop a Custom ROM..
You can refer the tutorials by Rudolf or Jazux..Or you can use the Kitchen developed by me...

If you're just a regular joe with no programming knowledge at all, I suggest you just forget all of this. Most of the devs here have attended\are attending universities or some other classes related to programming or they've learned from 5-10 years of experience with this stuff.
Hey all am a new android user.... i just put hands on xperia x10 bought it yesterday !dont have any before experience in adnroid! i spent last 3 hours rooting ....installing busybox ....emulators everything i successfully made BT5 boot up....depend on anantshri he needs testers ! so am here ! sorry i made new thread cuz im new user cant post replay .....and new in this forum .....i have photos too how i boot it and everything ..

secondly i would suggest you to get involved with the community and read and react on what's there is general and Q&A section, you will soon be able to contribute on Dev section also.
I would prefer if we keep discussion in one thread so that everyone benefits.
as far as help i need is concerned,
I need someone to check which software can work which of them are causing problems. both at GUI and console level so that i can work on a customized image file containing only working software.
note : web/wpa cracking will not work so don't try that.

OK thanks for replay..... how i can test the tools ? most of them are about networking and pentration(am confused cuz it need an ip address wirless is not working nor i can plug a cable) ....can you tell me for example : tell me which software nd what do ? basically the command and i tell you the results ....
Well , I myself do not know how to develop anything at all. I really wanna produce something but whenever people give me links to guides and all these stuff, ill never understand what to do. So this thread is to help those who do not know how to make their own theme / mod or even ROM, help them to know where to start off. So ,please if you are keen to teach us , please do! I am a follower of Dr. Ketan 's, his work is excellent and the way in which answers our queries is admirable.
I come to you after searching information on the development and modification of applications or roms for our device . Actually I found a lot of information about the subject but I'm confused and before i break something 'd like to see if they know ( all of you ) can help me .
Basically what I want is that I help prepare the development environment and that's where I froze .

I've been seeing these days a lot of user complaining about the lack of tutorials envolving Root, Cyanogenmod, and a lot of other stuff, so i want to help them and share some knowledge i have about android. So i created a Youtube Channel in which i hope to help the XDA and the whole Android community, now i will only have some tutorial about Samsung, because it is the only device avaiable for me at the moment but i hope soon to have some other devices so i can help more people.
