From all I can find out, rogers will work with the international P6800... As yet to be confirmed to me, I am searching xda for canadian users of the 7.7 on rogers experiences, if any.
I am seriously considering getting the international p6800 [from negri or pm sale] if it works fully on Rogers in CANADA.
Please help me spend my money wisely this time.... see below if you are wondering why I say this.

I moved my Rogers SIM from my Note to my P6800 to check this out. Worked like a charm. In fact, seems to have better signal strength with Rogers than I do with Bell (the SIM that's usually in the P6800). So there you go - spend your money wisely.
Yup, my dad doing that right now. Bought it from bestaele (or something). Go to gsmarena on the side, it's a Canadian company. We bought from them, pretty fast and reliable.
As for robbers, yup that works fine. Since 7.7 has all the bands, you should be fine with any Canadian network.
Hope this helps!

Hi, I'm thinking of teaching English in South Korea. I'd be going in maybe 4 or 5 months and was wondering if it is worth it to get the Galaxy S2 or not. I will need to get a laptop but my family might be helping me out with that. I will want to travel to Japan, China, maybe some other countries. I know it uses a SIM card but will it work in these countries as well? Do you think it is worth it? I'll be there for a year. Maybe I should get a cheap phone and maybe get a tablet instead. Any advice would be great.
Is it any kind of substitute for a Camera?
P.S. I would be selling my current Samsung Epic from Sprint to cover a good portion of the cost.

If you will resident(living) in south korea, you will purchased korea galaxy s2 from SKTelecom or KoreaTelecom contract.
But , in short stay and many country traveling and return to your country to use, i recommend buy the EU galaxy S2.
Any more advise?

I beg to differ!!
The con's you mentioned here aren't much of a problem. Most of the world still uses triband gsm and having a quad band won't do much of good and how many of us really uses mms when we are using emailing or video calling!!
If you see the pro's they is NFC which is gonna be must feature in all smart mobile in future. Next gen samsung mobile is having NFC in all the models. So isn't it cool to have right now than later? well there are lot of apps in android for fm, so having a native fm on mobile is pointless. And DMB is an extra asset too. last but not the least bloatware can be removed in many ways as like rooting
So what do you think guys?

Ha, that's just plain funny. Back in May when Mobile Syrup (quite wrongly) announced Canada was getting the ics update for the gtab 10.1 by the end of the week, there were literally pages of Americans *****ing and complaining about how it was unfair that Canada should get it first.
As per normal, you got it first and are telling a Canuck to be patient!!!!!! LOL!!!
p.s with a name like BretonGirl are you originally from Cape Breton?
Edit. Love your reply in the jb thread too!

Telus is the same - they need to go through all of this "internal testing". Man I'm on AOSP Jellybean and am so happy I'm almost not caring when and if it comes out. I might flash back to my stock unrooted Nandroid just to do the update for experience's sake when it does happen.

I hold dual Canadian/US citizenship and my family is from Cape Breton, yes. We had to be patient too while Europe and the UK got it first. I never complained. I suggest complaining to your carrier. I bet they are busy shoving as much of their crapware into it as possible. Most carriers love doing that.
Just install the uk one, it works perfect with rogers

Cool,
I am actually very happy with my tablet as is, much better than my Wife's ipad2. I am looking forward to better app compatability, configurable screenshot button, editable mini app tray etc....but that can wait.
I have the wifi version so no carrier to complain to, not that I would anyways my post was meant as laughing at others been impatient (Yanks and Canucks).
Cape Breton is awesome, I used to fly for Air Nova and was based in Halifax with tonnes (or metric fucton????) of Sydney overnights.
Take care,

They are all one big happy company....Rogers owns both Telus and Fido....Which is why you can switch from one to another just by swapping Sim cards on a carrier sim locked device. Found that out when I was unlocking my G1 got an old telus Sim and try to use an unlock code , it was already unlocked for telus, and fido. but the At&t sim from ebay forced the unlocke pin query.
You'll get ICS/JB on an update from rogers when you fork over anonter couple hundred$$$$$ for new hardware.

P.S if it sounds like I'm anti Rogers ....you should stand way back when I talk about Bell..

I'm pretty sure that Bell owns Telus. I know that Telus uses Bell towers for its signal. Your correct that Rogers owns Fido.
I have Rogers for my cell and Telus for my 3g tab 10.1. I can have no signal on my Rogers phone but have 3 bars on my Tab so they are definitely on different towers.
Telus keeps saying they are going to upgrade the Tab and then pushing the date back.
I think developers had forgotten about Honeycomb on Tablets and I wanted to be back on the main path of Android so I thought I would try rooting.
Now on the CM10 experiment by Pershoot and its great. Exactly the reason I will continue to buy Android products. I don't have to rely on some big stupid corporation, I can go to the great developer community and find all kinds of awesome stuff to run on my devices.

Rogers does own fido however they do not own Telus. Nor does Bell own Telus. However Bell and Telus have an agreement where out west Bell uses Telus towers and out east Telus uses Bell towers.

Telus
Well call me stupid ( should use Google search more), Telus is indeed a separate company not associated with Bell or Rogers.
Though I do remember an article 5-6 years back about Rogers buying a portion of Telus. That may have just been an investment by the financial arm of Rogers( diversity is a good thing).
tg
They're all bullcrap. They all need to push updates sooner.

Well, someone got it correct!
Bell and Telus used to be cdma carriers, when they wanted to launch their hspa network a few years ago they agreed to share the cost by building a network together, hence the "Bellus" term! But.....they are two very separate companies and are going their separate ways with lte.

With the recent ICS Atrix 4G leak (or giveaway) I'm wondering about Atrix International version now. We have been far let down than the USA users since we have never received any subsequent GB updates that US users received. Now that Atrix International users are supporting the update campaign, including me, I wanted to run a poll to see how many of current active Atrix users on XDA are Atrix 4G owners and how many own the international version. I already can guess most active users are from USA but somehow I believe Motorola sold more Atrix outside of USA than inside. Thank you.
Update:
As 'ravilov' member rightly mentioned Atrix 4G was ATT exclusive in US. Since ATT phones are usually branded, especially for an exclusive phone, those bought ATT branded phones from outside of US should still vote the first option. Thank you.
Wow did not think that there would be so littel us people (so far)
i bought atrix in US but use it in India
I bought it outside US...but was from ebay, so it is ATT branded. Anyway, i won't choice either on the poll because my Atrix died last week...was so sad that he was not going to recieve ICS anymore. Poor little guy, betrayed by his own parents.
Thank you for your votes so far. ATT branded phone even was purchased outside of USA can be voted as "Inside" of USA. Even if you no longer own the phone, broken or sold, you can still vote. One goal of the poll is to get a rough idea of total numbers of each.
I'm also surprised ATT users are not voting, I guess the leak ROM is keeping them away from this thread
One question though, is ATT radio compatible with the international Atrix's radio?

i know its still considered a US variant. I did get a GB update to 2.3.6 back in Jan or Feb, literally days before I popped my xda cherry and rooted it, lol.

Hey guys,
I'm looking to get a new phone, stumbled upon the Oppo Find 5 and it looks like an awesome device for a great price. Will it work on US T-Mobile? If so, will 3G and HSPA+ work as well?
My alternative is the GS3, but I think I'll be able yp find the OF5 cheaper.
I can confirm for you on Saturday if you want me to
(Buddy of mine has T-Mobile)
But I have at&t and I get hspa+

Hello, yes, I'm using it on T-Mobile. Works great! HSPA+ and all.
Just make sure to get the "international" version, which has T-Mobile's 1700 spectrum.
Oh, and it takes micro sim.

I use my phone roughly 1/2 year in the USA and roughly 1/2 year in Italy and/or Holland.
Should I get an AT&T or international model?
I'm likely to want to install CM or some other ROM on it so I'm l leaning towards the international model. But will that work with AT&T LTE? Or vice-versa, will the AT&T version work on Italian networks?

Did you ever find an answer for this? I'm wondering the same thing myself. I have an AT&T HTC One (stock, never rooted, and under AT&T contract) that I'll be attempting to use via roaming in Italy soon. I'll let you know what kind of luck I have.
AT&T has told me that the phone should work fine (which I assumed), but they said the same thing with my old HTC OneX when I went to Morocco and Portugal last year and it never worked. FWIW, my GFs SGS3 (on same account as my phone) worked fine. We had ensured that identical options were set by AT&T CSRs to enable international dialing, etc, and the SGS3 and HOX both contained the same radios, so not sure what the problem was. I guess I'll see if it's fixed on the One soon enough.
