my A500 has been rooted, but can not upgrapde to 3.2 via OTA everytime it reboot.
Help pls
thx
Yea, i'm also unable to receive the 3.2 OTA. I'm not rooted however, so I dont think thats the problem. Sometime it will finish the download but then say the file is corrupted and starts back at square one....

To the OP, you basically have to unroot it to update via to OTA file. Specifically, you cannot update with the OTA file using the non-stock Recovery system.
Ashy: Are you downloading it over wifi or 3g? If 3g, try downloading it via wifi...
I'm also having issues updating. I get past the download, the reboot to recovery, but the install fails with the bee/exclamation screen.
I've read recently to put the tablet in portrait orientation when installing and will try that tonight.
I remember that worked in the past for me.

Groaner, are you rooted? And if so, did you install the stock recovery back on it before trying to update?
Yes. I've tried every version of.com roms but none of them let me. I have not tried the.07 one so maybes that will be next.
Portrait orientation did not help unfortunatly.
I'm currently trying Taboonay 2.1 first.

I don't think it was really the ROM being used that matter, but that you should have the stock/factory recovery installed. I had to completely unroot my device before I could update from the OTA download.

If you are rooted anyway, I wouldn't suggest the OTA update. You will lose root and if you need it then this isn't the best way to do it. What you should do is install the acer recovery from the market, use that to install CWM (if you don't have it already) and then download the ZIP of an already rooted 3.2 and install that.
My Pad just told me that there is a firmware update. It loaded the file and restarted. But after a minute or so the android-icon changed into a lying figure with a warning label on the open stomach.
I was able to restart and the pad told me that the update was broken and the old version restored.
I tried to get the update again but now the pad says there is no new version.
Now I got the new firmware (.40) from the asus website but I'm not sure if I should try to to flash it by myself. Will I still get OTA-updates after I flashed a firmware by myself?
Doing a manual update wont prevent you from installing future ota updates. Go ahead and install it.

Ever since I updated OTA to .40, I have had lots of WiFi disconnects. Recovery from prob is manually connecting and waiting.

I had the same thing when I made the OTA Update the first time. But in difference I could start it again, it downloaded again and the update seemed to run through.
But after that the TF300TG always stops at the boot screen (mentioned in an other thread).
I think ASUS has some serious troubles with the .40 update.
I haven't seen an update notification at all on my Prime.. I have done the system update manually every day and still have yet to get the update.. im not root and every thing still stock.

I tried the manual update but unfortunately I got again the lying figure with the warning sign.
My device is rooted using the one-click-method.
Is it possible that this causes the problem? Do I have to unroot and maybe doing a hard reset to get the update?
I was told the problem with the flickering screen in Tegra-games should be solved, so I really would try to get it...
Do you still have the stock system recovery image installed?
I'm having the same problem but I have clockwork recovery installed, which probably works great on the TF300T but can't install the 3G modem software on the TF300TG.
That's why my update is failing anyhow.

I have still the stock recovery. I don't trust any of the instructions for the TF300T, as they may cause the lost of the 3G-ability of the TF300TG. :silly:

Yeah I did that a few weeks ago, I'm really wishing I hadn't now though!
Have you booted into recovery and checked that its still working?
I read that somebody corrupted their recovery image using the one-click root method.

Stock recovery is just the menu you get when you press <vol down> during boot, where you can choose to get a factory reset or a cold boot, isn't it?
I tried that, seems to work. I read about the other guy with the broken recovery, too (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1795902). But as far as I understood he tried to unroot with the 1-click-method after the update to .40.
Update: I managed to install the new firmware. After I used the rootkeeper to temporarily unrooting the device the update ran without problems.
After the update the device was complete unrooted but I got back root using the tool here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1706588
Unfortunately my issues with Tegra-games are not fixed with the new fírmware.

I got it also. 16gb u.s. Wifi version. it was installing & updating android apps as I left out for work.
Any changelog on what was changed or added?
I want to install it but will a root method be made for it. I am not near a computer to use the zedomax root method. Anyone had root while installing this?

suppose I will be able to tell you soon. It would not install originally because of CWM recovery. I flashed the stock and it is installing via Kies now. Will report back whether or not I get root back.
I downloaded and installed, not rooted 16gb.
It said it was bug fixes and about 50mbs or so.

Downloading it now. Will install shortly.

Edit:
Installed, must have wiped cache as all apps went through the updating process. No noticeable differences or problems. Seems to be a tick faster but that's probably just my perception.
I got a notice this morning about the update being downloaded, I don't have root yet, so I installed it.

I wonder exactly which bugs. I hope that folder & keyboard bug got fixed. the one where they open by themselves when going to homescreen from certain apps or whatever. it was getting irritating having to constantly close them. Lol

OK, as expected, lost root. Odin flashed the original cwm recovery back. reinstalled the original root file and and back to being rooted.
Still 4.0.4.
All you had to do was use voodoo ota rootkeeper to backup n restore root file. access to computer not needed.
I was previously rooted with CMW Recovery [N8013]. I then flashed stock [N8000] firmware and the update failed. I have not used kies before, will that install the update correctly? Thanks

How did you flash back to stock? I didn't think we had a completely stock 8013 image yet. I tried reimaging via the root injected stock file, but it did not remove CWM, so the update won't load.
ye i just did it and i lost root but the first thing i noticed that is working faster. also the snote app was update you can upload your own template finally. when choosiing a background on the window pop up touch the little square image on the top right corner and it lets you choose from images in your gallery.

Android 4.3, automatic & customizable mapping of Shield controls to touchscreen controls, 60fps PC streaming, 1080p HDMI output, and more!
Already updated and can't find release notes online, so unfortunately I can't write them, but suffice to say you need to update NOW.
Does appear to remove root, but that shouldn't be too difficult to rectify.

Neither. I just did a straight update. My Android familiarity is limited and I'm lazy. I figure it will be easy enough to re-root.
I keep getting a signature error during the update install, I've even done a full wipe and then updated again and the same thing. I can't get it installed.
I do have an unlocked bootloader, but that shouldn't keep me from updating =/ Would it be possible for someone to post the update zip?

The new update is awesome, get it as soon as you can. I have moved all my games to the SD and have all the internal storage space back and the console mode is great with my moga pro.

Yeah has nothing to do with the bootloader... are you running a custom recovery? I'm not and mine worked. I was rooted and unlocked. Lost root, of course... but not sure I even need it now since full games can be moved and with the improved gamepad support.

Yep, clockwork recovery. I guess I'll have to flash a stock recovery image.
If anyone figures out how to restore root after this update please let me know. I'm having no luck using the old manual method.

Flash back to the original recovery first. You should be able to fastboot flash CWM after the OTA and get root back.
Thank you everyone, I flashed back to the stock recovery and was able to update no problem. Woohoo!

My apologies. I assumed it was to be done via some backup made during cwm install.
I flashed factory recovery but now when I boot into android (still 4.2.1) and do a "check updates" it says I am up to date. Is there some cache or settings I have to clear for it to recognize that the previous attempt failed so it will allow me to re-download and update again?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I have my AT&T HTC One converted to Google Play Edition since a while now, and I just saw the system update notification and see the 4.4.4 with just 17MB, I've downloaded and once it rebooted, something happened with the zip and cwm recovery, which gives me an error. I was too excited with the update to take note of the error, and since I rebooted again and check for a system update, it shows me my 4.4.3 as current.
I'm just notifying it.
I have no idea if this helps anyone.

return to stock recovery, and see if you get the ota link,if you get, download and sideload it
or otherwise you need to wait till next batch of rollout (remember, google sends updates by baches till everyone gets)
or just flash it manually then in recovery !
http://www.randomphantasmagoria.com/firmware/htc-one/m7_google/
Side load it with stock recovery. If stock HTC recovery doesn't have sideload, you can flash it from your internal SD. No need to wait for a notification.
