I just got Focus. I just added songs using Zune.
Now I want to know what do next ? I thinking to go with Clear ROM, is that good ? OR any other different ROM you guys suggest me ?
Any tutorials for side loading apps ?
Also things I should know ? etc ?
any help is appreciated. Thank you !

As for the roms, you would have to try to see which one suits you best. Or ask for more details either in the thread or here...
Thank you very much for replying
I checked your link.
1.I'd like to stay with Stock ROM as of now.
2. Window Break - Done
3. So just that Mini SDK & wXapAssitant is enough ?? No need to download that big SDK file ? [some 2GB file]
4. Will do this after 3 step
cheers !

I got my new WP7 Focus just a few days ago and I spent two days searching for things in the forum. After some research I found that the simplest way to install applications/games on the phone is as listed below. Any one has a simpler way- please share!
1. Unlock your phone in two mins. See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20616855 (Please thank Jaxbot for this feat)
2. Installed latest version of Zune (http://www.zune.net/en-US/products/software/default.htm)
3. Ensure you have .NET Framework 4.0 If not - see here http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=17718
4. Installed the mini-SDK from here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1265846 (Thanks to W.I.N.C.O.)
5. Installed Tom Xap Installaer (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=860964) (Thanks to Tom Codon)
And Bingo!
You're ready to install downloaded XAP files.
Just double click on the Xap file and done!

Really helpful for a newbie like me
Hey guys,
I just saw this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1499102
I read through a few posts but the point of this rom isn't very clear to me.
Does it add anything more than developer unlocking to your phone (does it even add that?) And should I unlock my phone with cheveron first or is that not necessary?
Also, my current (stock) rom doesn't have a 2G/3G switch. Any ideas if this rom has it?
Thanks!

The ROM is a "full unlock". This surpasses developer, Chevron and Interop. It allows apps to run on your phone with heightened privileges. Opera browser for example. It includes Registry editors, homebrew apps, Nokia sounds etc.
It isn't necessary to do anything before flashing, just follow the instructions properly! Yes, it includes a choice of your highest connection speed: 3G or 2G.
It's just a better experience all round!
That sounds good. Any idea how it affects battery life?
I'll give it a try tomorrow.
Hopefully there's a wat to keep currently installed apps en text messages. Any idea about that?

Hey mirolog,
the reason I had to open a new thread is because I don't have 10 posts yet so I couldn't reply to yours. Thank you for your reply!
Hehehe! Bet you feel bad now miro
Regarding battery life: it hasn't got worse, if anything mine is better!
Love this phone more and more every day because of this ROM.
Definitely worth flashing it.

are you using GT-S5363 ?
Sent from my GT-S5360 using xda premium
HI guys, I was looking at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085390 about rooting the S5360 (I have a s5369) but when I try to flash the update included in the thread I get an error, screenshot attached (the error says E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip (status 7) Installation aborted)
Any idea?
Try this one instead, otherwise I will edit the updater-script of your package to make it compatible with your model. I think that you will able to install GT-S5360 ROMs on it, but can you give me technical details about your phone ?
Regards
Hi thank you for that. I tried your link but I don't seem to be able to download anything from there, it's just an empty blank page (not sure if the mega protocol isn't supported or what). If you could put it elsewhere I'll download and try it.
What technical details would you like me to give you? ANdroid version etc? GT-S5369, android 2.3.6, kernel 2.6.35.7
Let me know if you need anything else
thank you for your help

Here's an another link ! I want some informations about the processor ect .. Just to check if the specs are the same with the GT-S5360 model. You're welcome !
Thanks mate, unfortunately even that link doesn't work, the page times out (tried yesterday and today with same result in different browsers). As for more details, I downloaded CPU-z and took some screenshots, attached, hopefully that will help you, let me know if you need more:
You will able to install normally GT-S5360 roms, they have the same specs. I joined the root access enable ZIP package. If I helped you, don't hesitate to use the little button below or if you need something else tell me !
thanks for the file, but if that's the same as the one found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085390 then I tried it already and my phone doesn't like it, I posted the error message at the beginning of the thread

Oops sorry ! Here's the fixed one.
Brilliant, thanks. The installation of the new file was successful, no errors and now I have superuser, so presumably the phone is now rooted.
Thanks for your help. In terms of android version, do you know where I can find a list of stable versions I can install? I checked cyanogen mod but I couldn't find my model
thanks

Yes, you're now rooted ! Check the GT-S5360 development subforum and you will find a lot of ROMs, but for CyanogenMod, every ported version (7,9,11) has its specific bugs and you will need to choose the one which suits you. If you need any help, just mention me on your post ! Regards.
Fab, thank you very much for all your help, much appreciated.

Or put the apk with the filemanager in the TWRP Recovery into the system partition, system/priv-app and give them 644 rights.

Hi,
You can still flash the stock rom with the sp flash tool. Go to the desire 820s threads in the development section and find your stuff.
