Weird problem I haven't experienced on any other Android device I've owned. When I choose to install an app from the market on my Tab, about 50% of the time it will register my selection to install, but it never actually starts to download or install. Usually on the second attempt it will work, but sometimes I do need to try 4 and very rarely 5 times.
Anybody else see this?
Seeing that here as well.

Same here. Had the same problem on my Xoom. I think its a honeycomb issue.
Disable wifi, then immediately re-enable. Download will usually start right away.
Killing Market and trying again has been working for me. Getting tedious though.

Same here. Terribly annoying, and I think I've seen this before on Gingerbread as well.
+1 also having the same issue. I just use back and then try to reinstall, 9/10 it will catch the 2nd try and install. Annoying but minor quirk.
Seen the same issue on SGS2 gingerbread.

I had this issue on my Transformer aswell. It should be HC-Related
Its a hc issue. If you notice...every time that happens the app permission screen does not pop up. That's why the download doesn't start. Backing out and trying again generally works.

I have the same issue. Also, sometimes the download will go through, but during the download the progress will suddenly disappear from the "my apps" tab in the market, but will continue showing progress in the notification bar. When the download "finishes" on the notification bar, nothing happens.
Would happen on mine also.. sometimes it even opened up a random app which was really wierd..
As opposed to before, I can definitely let it sit while doing other things like playing a game or reading something in pulse etc., now, whenever zip 'minimize' the opera browser, and come back to it, it needs to restart itself all over again, that I would have to load the pages manually again. Of course if I'm downloading something, it gets interrupted and ill have to download it all over again. I dunno if its because of a recent update or whatnot, I've just noticed it now. Do you know if there's a fix?

(T_T): HUHUHUHU! It seems that I'm the only one experiencing this... Can someone help me???
It's all about how gingerbread is handling your memory usage and if it feels the need to close an app to free up ram. It's probably happening a lot more now because you have more apps installed then before and some of those run in memory from boot. Opera can be a beast when it comes to eating ram especially with multiple tabs. So you can look into that

I've noticed it happening a lot lately too and seen others complaining also. I found Lookout was using more than it's fair share of RAM so I uninstalled that but haven't had a good chance to try it out yet. I usually access Opera either via an icon on the desktop, or by long-holding the home button. Maybe I'm trippin' but the problem seems to happen a lot less when I use the home button method.
I have noticed this as well. Especially when downloading stuff. Definitely a fix is needed. This makes it 'almost' a full fledged browser. Too late in the game for that Opera!
Hello people I have a problem with softkeyboard which only occurs in cm7 roms only. I have seen some other people reporting the same issue but the answers were not satisfactory. The problem is that while typing sometimes certain letters become unresponsive eg most of the times letter "A". Anybody found a fix around this? Also tried with stock and smartkeyboard pro but still the same..any suggestions? ??

really not sure. Happened to me on Swiftkey X here and there both on CM7 and MIUI, but never on the stock one. Assumed it was a Swiftkey problem.
Usually closing and opening the keyboard worked. Or closing the app using the keyboard. Really not sure why its happening though. Mildly annoying.
I noticed that when I use heavy amount of apps, my browser simply wont work. I use the task manager to kill apps but no go. It just loads a white screen and must do a full restart. I like this tablet with full hdmi but might return it. Anyone else have this issue or fixes? Couldnt find it on search.

Yes, this is a common issue and it is due to incompatabilities between the apps and HC 3.2.1. The mount point was changed for the SDcard. the apps that try to cache to the SDcard are having issues. The browser is one of them. A lot of people are using Dolphin HD. They going into the settings and telling not to cache to the SDcard. It does not eliminate the problem, but seems to make it managable. It will take a change in the apps to fix the issue. Dolphin has a beta out that address this issue.
Thank you!

Please note that the Dolphin beta does not address the problem. Periodic wiping of the cache is still required to prevent the browser from locking up.
According to the support email I got from Dolphin, the beta 7.2.1 has this issue corrected. And so far as I can tell, it has solved the problem.

Dolphin HD appears to have been fixed for the thrive, so far no lockups. The developers jumped on it and fixed our issue fast.

My nexus 7 (4.1.1) stutters every 7-8 seconds during all video playback (Netflix/YouTube/local). It even occurs with WiFi turned off and playing locally stored content (Transformers movie). Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix?
We had another thread going on this but it seems to buried now. You are not alone 'it's happening to me too. It is also happening on games for me too. I think it may have something to do with 4.1.1 update as others and I didn't have problem on 4.1. I am trying to flash a 4.1 ROM but am having issues at the moment doing so.

Not problems here with 4.1.1 watching Transformers end to end twice. Try doing a factory reset and retry the videos stock.
Did yu mess the build prop? Like did yu try out the tablet mode?

I also get some stuttering when I use Netflix but not on sling player nor YouTube

I made a copy of build.prop but didn't modify the original file. I'm rooted on latest build.
I had changed the density so I can have it in tablet u.i mode but I switched back I put 213... But I had remembered for some reason it was at 212 before I even changed it, but I put 213 cause everyone on xda said that's was what the original number was... Check & see if it's at 212 of not changer it to 212... It worked for me

Found a fix
Go to Settings then Developer Options and check Disable HW Overlays,
seems to solve it, not sure why.
Well from what I've researched what it tends to do is pool the system memory so I don't think it's a good idea to turn it off. When you have it turned off each program is no longer being allotted a separate amount of memory. However when I did turn it off and it seem to fix the problem I have with stuttering in games.

That's great shame because it works really well!:crying:
I don't know if this works for others but my problem turned out to be rotation control app. Had it set to auto and it still did stuttering. Uninstalled and instantly cleared the problem.

Thanks for the info! Turns out Orientation Control app was causing the same problem for me. Uninstalled and stutter is gone. Hopefully a future update will solve the conflict.
Hmmm

What exactly does the rotation control app do? I mostly use my N7 in Landscape mode, would uninstalling this app interfere with this? I'm getting god awful stuttering when I try to play an .mkv file streamed from my rig to my N7.... Makes the movie unwatchable. But my .mp4 movies (720p) play just fine..? I also get the tiniest amount of stuttering in Dead Trigger.
Yes, works for me too, it is there a rotation app to replace the culprits? Thanks!

Yep, it was the rotation app for me too, removed it and now it's back to "butter". Thanks!
Another satisfied customer here, removing the rotation app removed the video glitch, now I installed Apex Launcher to get the home screen in Landscape mode and it seems to be working without any glitches.
Are there any other apps with such problems? I never installed the rotation control app but I still have stuttering. Disabling HW overlays fixes it, but it sounds like that's a less-than-ideal choice. I can't think of any other app that would be causing the problem.

I hope so, though for now I disabled HW overlays - Rotation Forces Auto on Ultimate Rotation App is just too darned useful to live without. Plus it boosts the benchmark performance. Not sure about it yet, but I see no side effects with actual usage.
stutter WORKAROUND...
Hi everyone,
Instead of disabling HW Overlays... or uninstalling `Ultimate Rotation` app (which I really like!), set the given app/game to `Manual rotation` in the settings:
1) swipe out and tap the Ultimate Rotation icon
2) `Settings` (bottom right)...
3) `Per App Settings`...
4) tap the app in question...
5) choose `Manual` rotation...
6) exit... and try the game/video (stutter be gone!)
NOTE: I just noticed you can do this while the stuttering app/video is running. Just do Step 1 (as above) while your game is running (it will pause when you tap the Ultimate Rotation icon), then simply choose `Manual` rotation and you`re back in the saddle again.
hope all that made sense...
cheers!
