I had already done all that, all the steps correctly, and the battery 100%.
drivers are updated but the problem is when I enter in the recovery mode <3e> I can not access any of the four options (reboot, apply recovery, wipe data and wipe cache) can change options but never confirmed, it seems that does not receive commands the power button.
below in yellow I see the following message :

E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log

Try pressing both vol+ and vol- for selection. If doesn't work, try flashing Retail British rom in from that link. It will work i used that when my DEFY got bricked. It will work. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

If you flash the rom all data will be lost. Why are you try to access recovery menu. Try this:JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2_177-003_BLUR_SIGN_SIGNED_USAJRDNEMARAB1B8RTGB03A.0R_PDS03C_USAJRDNFRYORTGB_P019_A010_HWp3_Service1FF.sbf.gz
Don't enter recovery until first boot gets completed. Usually recovery does show those messages.
Tell whether it works??
until now recovery always showing this message, i ever waiting for the end of RSD but didn't work ...
My bootloader is locked, I cannot downgrade, so I think the Defy ROM U32xx or U33xx not will work, I tried several but nothing happens, the red logo appears, enable recovery (corrupted as shown in picture) and stay in bootloop only when i flash 4.5.1-134_DFP-231xx
I Change to RSD Lite 5.6 - Win7(5.5.0 x64 Drivers), Win XP (with 5.5.0 x86 Drivers) <<< All Updated

Nada, Nothing !
in the past i loved motorola, today i HATE, my next Android only with unlocked bootloader
i think theres no Ninja who can help me
BTW : Thanks a Lot !
you might of upgraded the kernel to high. I tried to install 231 and it failed and I tried so many roms with all failing! I flashed with a 2311 rom and it worked.
Not sure if you used this kernel but anything lower will not work. Also you cannot root 231.
If you have 231 have a read of this link to root it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1542956
You should be able flash them threw RSD lite it wone get you back to stock rom but it will get your phone working.
If you know you dont have 231 kernel I would try other options first as you cant downgrade from it thats why no other roms would work for me.

exactly, I'm caught in the 231 kernel, I can not start any rom with previous kernel, always boot error
the problem is unable to apply or wipes and select the "update.zip" within the original bootloader, none of these basic steps work for me, I need a 231 sbf with an alternative recovery or otherwise applying the wipes, I think the system is confusing, I do not know

hi there...
just installed CM7 this weekend. worked fine for 2 days
After restarting the ms2, it got stuck in a bootloop.
I can flash a sbf with rsd lite from, finishes OK, but when it says, rebooting, well...
it still stuck in a bootloop.
In recovery mode, i can do a cache wipe and factory reset. But there is a error message at the bottom, telling:
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/command
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/caller
Could I successfully flash with RSDlite from Linux? which version?
Is there a way to restore the ms2 from dev console?
Thanks a lot
Do you test to Wipe Data with stock moto recovery ?
Here step 7 to 11
I think your request must be on "General" section
I suspected it might be related the CyanogenMod intstall. But move to "general" if necessary
Have done steps 7 - 11
but still ms2 bootloops
OMG - if broke it - my wife kills me
I hope your wife don't kill you LOL

I don't know if this is going to help, but you could try that anyway:
- Download MotoAndroidDepacker (utility to unpack/repack SBF's)
- Choose one stock SBF (2.2 FR for example)
- Open and unpack it with the utility
- Rename CG66.smg to CG37.smg (you are going to use preinstall image as data image, both are ext3, but has different sizes. Don't know if it's going to work).
- Use utility to open folder with unpacked images and repack it
- Put phone in bootloader mode and flash the repacked SBF (rebuilt/firmware.sbf)
- Post results here

Moved to proper forum.
Hi all, Emiliano from Italy. I firstly wanted to thank you all for your support.
Even being my first post here, I've been following you since some time.
My problem looks exactly the same: bootloop... bootloop... bootloop.
No matter how many I tried flashing back the original ROM for my M2 (SBF file always worked before!!! so I'm sure is the correct one for my smartphone).
I tried also the procedure with depacking described above with no progresses.
Anyway I already had noticed that after renaming cg66 to cg37, depacker wasn't able to see it in the list of cgs before repacking, so that final fbs was 300MB less.
Something wrong I made? (tried on 2 pcs with Vista Home and Business)
Unluckily I cannot even try to wipe data because I cannot enter in recovery mode (On + X -> Android robot with mark -> but nothing happens after pressing magnifying lens or any other key).
Could someone, please, help me before using my bricked M2 for building a new house?

Hi Amir4Life,
thanks for reply and for your suggestion.
Unluckily I cannot access recovery mode.
All I get when pressing X is the green robot with Exclamation mark, but no matter which key I press after, it gets stuck at that point (so that I'm bound to take away battery to turn smartphone off) and cannot access or see any menu to operate wipe.
Tried also reflashing other roms through rds lite (bootloader works efficiently) or through ubuntu live cd "sbf_flash system", but the only fsb that always worked for me turns out to be a bootloop when rebooting.
Unluckily nothing seems to help me in this situation, so far.
It's still a bootlpop and no access to recovery mode.
Thanks anyway for your help and happy and special new year to you all!
At the 'exclamation sign + green android guy' screen, you have to press 'vol up + vol down' together.
Now you will get the options like 'wipe data' etc. etc. Scroll through options using vol up or vol down and select using power button.

Thanks Sahilarora,
If I had read you before I would have saved a lot of time trying all possibile combinations of keys on the keboards (since magnifying glasses didn't work)!!
Then just by chance I discovered myself volume up + down while pressing chaotically all buttons and it worked to my best suprise, showing me finally the belated list of options, together with blessed wipe data factory
Since yesterday evening my Milestone 2 is wonderfully working again, as fresh as a daisy!
Thank you so much for your contribution, hoping it could help also Amir4Life and oll pthers in a similar situation.
Happy new year (started in the best way).
Glad for you, I was about to tell to do what sahilarora911 told ya,
I expect i m the only one who stays with brick'd phone... my luck.

Hi all,
Short version: Need to get phone in fastboot mode. Device OS is bad. Holding power + volume down will not bring up the fastboot menu. Suggestions? (more details below).
Long Version:
A friend of mine gave me his bricked Droid X (MB810) and told me I could have it if I could get it working (he upgraded to the X2 when this bricked). The phone died when it was receiving an update from Verizon. He had not modified or hacked it any way before giving it to me.
I have flashed the device with a list of SBF files using RSDLite 5.6. For most of the SBF files, the phone just sits at the motorola boot logo. Version 2.3.32 gets to the android/exclamation point screen where pressing 'search' brings up the 'Android system recovery (3e)' screen with the error messages 'E:Can't mount CACHE:recovery/command' and 'E:Can't mount CACHE:recovery/log'.
I have spent hours tracking down solutions to those two errors with no luck.
Tinkering and reading on the web for the past 5 days has left me with the supposition that the radio isn't flashing correctly. Directions for flashing this part of the device say I need to fastboot the device and communicate with it over ADB. Multiple places on the web say to get the Droid X to fastboot either do some stuff in the OS (which I can't do because of no working OS) or boot the device while holding down the power + volume down buttons. This does not work, I always end up back at the android/exclamation mark.
The phone is probably bricked permanently, but it was a free phone and I am willing to put some time into it.
Thank you in advance.
I don't believe that our Droid X's can access fastboot mode. Any recovery that has to be done must be done through SBFing.
I would keep trying to SBF.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
1. Hold Camera + Volume Down + tap Power to bring up the bootloader.
2. Connect to PC and SBF
3. Once RSDLite shows "rebooting" and the phone says "SW Update complete," the phone will flash off. Hold the power and home keys when this happens.
4. Once the M logo comes up, release the power and continue to hold the home key
5. wipe data/cache.
6. Reboot.
You (typically) cannot boot to any other bootloader but the one used for mainly SBF. It's locked and encrypted. I assume you're coming from a Samsung or HTC device.

Once again thank you for taking the time to write, but I'm a little confused now when I look through your directions.
These look like directions for loading a new SBF file, not for accessing fastboot. I need to connect to my phone through ADB and to do that I need to turn on fastboot. The bootloader works fine on the phone.

The Droid X cannot boot into fastboot mode. You will have to follow the directions listed above to SBF. SBFing will accomplish what you are hoping to do with fastboot mode.
A little more info:
SBFing returns the device to pure stock, just like you took it out of the box for the first time. Being able to SBF is a failsafe, meaning no matter what happens to a device at the software level, and SBF will always return a device to stock if done properly.
I hope I have given you enough information to get your device working.

Well thanks for the info, I have tried this solution along with many others, installed the software on another laptop, verified the SBF files with MD5, and I always end up back in the same place. I'm 99% certain the phone has a hardware issue.
The end result of everything results in the following error message on the 'Android system recovery (3e)' screen:
'E:Can't mount CACHE:recovery/command'
'E:Can't mount CACHE:recovery/log'.
Wiping the data/cache results in the errors changing to:
'E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command'
Thanks again for the help. I might tinker with it on and off for the next few days. If I find a fix, I'll be sure to come back here and post it.
Sorry to resurrect an old post... but did you get it to work? Normally RSD Lite puts you into bootloader mode automatically but maybe it can't in this case. To do it manually you:
a) pull the battery.
b) put it back in.
c) start holding down both volume buttons (right side)
d) turn it back on
e) when the screen flashes let go of the buttons, you should see a message saying "Bootloader" on it
f) Plug in to the USB. Now RSD Lite can go to town - of course this assumes you have the drivers installed.
Also - did you call Verizon or Motorola? I did because of recent trouble and they seem to believe their updates never break anything. Of course unlike your friend I have rooted and rommed my phone... but it wasn't until I installed their update that my data connection broke.
No I never got it to work. I tried all that and more. In the end I passed it to a friend who had done bootloader work on this particular model of phone and he couldn't get it to work (he even used a software version that he had used recently to do his phone). It has to be a hardware failure at this point. I'll probably sell it for parts. I don't see Verizon or Motorolla being to keen on helping me since I go the phone second hand, have attempted to modify it since acquiring it, and it's not tied to my Verizon account.

Also - did you call Verizon or Motorola? I did because of recent trouble and they seem to believe their updates never break anything. Of course unlike your friend I have rooted and rommed my phone... but it wasn't until I installed their update that my data connection broke.

After re-reading what you said the problem you're having isn't really all that similar to mine other than the "broke after update" thing...
Anyway, I talked to Motorola for my issue and they offered to fix it even though it's out of warranty - I hate being without a phone, but if I can't fix it myself then I may take them up on it. So you might just give it a go - after all it's THEIR update that broke the phone, not your tinkering.

When I do that, I see:

For the millionth time there is no fastboot
:banghead:
Reread how to sbf.
If you feel comfortable enough do it again.
Sometimes you have sbf 2-3 times.
First time I sbf'd was my d2.
I had a major freak out because it would not work!
Wtf!!!
Viola! Third times a charm!
If I remember right it came up the same as what you posted.
Just make sure you have at least 50%
Battery charge and start over. Not from where you left over. Reboot PC is good placebo too. Lol.
Any ways start over as if its your first time sbf the phone.
As I said it may take several tries, be patient, take your time.
You may run into:
Phone bootlooping, reboot with out rebooting, other silly things.
Take out battery start over.
Rsd SHOULD pick up where it let off.
Keep us posted !

This is your bootloader mode, where you can SBF. You have an odd bootloader version. Are you sure that's what it read?

Yep, that's exactly what it read.
I've tried sbf'ing 9x now and I still get fail each time. I have tried it 3x each with RSD Lite versions 4.9, 5.0, 5.6 (rebooting PC after each un/install).
I am trying to sbf 2.3.4 so I can install Liberty ROM. I got the sbf from here:

Downloaded it 2x to make sure the download is not corrupt.
Any ideas?
That link is for Droid X2 SBF files. You're posting in a Droid X forum. So do you have the X or the X2?

I have to admit that I laughed extremely hard after reading this topic thread when I saw the Star Trek pictures. I needed that.
Anyway. I might be able to help if you still need? I have both the Droid X and X2.
I'm actually restoring my Droid X via the Bootloader (who the other fellow views as the Fastboot) using RSD Lite 5.7 to SBF .621.
Bam. I just completely restored my original Droid X for my son. I'm visiting with him about a day's ride from home. Thanks for those quick RSD Lite instructions.
Anyway. I plan to tinker with my Droid X2 once I get home this weekend, so perhaps I could try helping you while I restore and tinker with my X2.

:I need some serious help.
I tryed to flash custom 2.3.6 fixed sbf.
which didnt end well, after powerup i would go straight to bootloader with err codes.
so tryed to flash another stock SBF, that ended me in inifinte bootloop with android logo. after 20 minutes in bootloop i gave up and flashed another stock SBF this time it was cellcom israel sbf, it finished the flashing succesfully but now the phone wont powerup at all. not bootloader not recovey.
nada...
I really need your help here, any kind of insights will help. please this is urgent.
BTW: this is a red lense defy, last rom was JB 4.1.1 quarx 30.07 build.
the sbf was supposed to have the same rom.
update 1: managed to finally flash stock, cant enable 3g. phone is still rooted, installing superuser is succesfuly but doesnt control attributes. so 2ndinit currently does not work,

UPDATE 16/11/2012: links check and updated everything should work.
Solution:
1. first get these files as we'll need all of them: Rsd lite (download and install that),
Motorola drivers (download and install: Here)
JORDN_U3_97.21.51.rar(contains sbf file): http://www.4shared.com/get/xzT3dMXv/JORDN_U3_972151.html
firmware.rar(contains another sbf file): http://www.4shared.com/rar/Ytt5O6--/firmware.html
2ndinit 1.4.2, and 2ndinit 2.3 (can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1032212).
also need the nandroid backup: http://www.4shared.com/file/pVQfB4bF/2011-06-11141427.html
[Optional]
superuser.zip file installing from recovery: http://downloads.androidsu.com/superuser/Superuser-3.2-arm-signed.zip
2. [Optional] I didn't have a router at my house and no signal at my phone and i needed internet for 2ndinit, so i installed a program that turns my wifi on the computer into a hotspot, it can be found here: http://www.connectify.me/
3.First shutdown your phone, hold the Vol down and boot the phone up keeping the volume down pressed. you should come up to a triangle android logo, press the vol up and down key and then tap the screen ( this is a touch screen gui), choose the wipe data/cache and press ok, this should take up to 5 minutes.
4. Now, shut down the phone (pull the battery out and return it back in), Hold the Vol Up button and power up your phone.
you will enter the Bootloader (or BL as its called in the forums) and you should see the phone stating that (usually 9.10 version)
5. after installing Rsd lite, launch it, extract the JORDN_U3_97.21.51.rar and firmware.rar files into root directory (C:\ or D:\ or whatever).
in rsdlite press the
...
Click to collapse
button and choose the JORDN_U3_97.21.51.sbf file.
connect your phone via a usb cable to your computer, the phone should state its connected. and you should see on the rsdlite window that a device is connected, click on it and press the button :"start".
let it finish and boot on itself (it should do that).
6. [Optional] if you started with low battery now is a good time to charge your phone.
7. transfer the 2ndinit 1.4.2 apk and the 2ndinit 2.3 apk into a folder in your sd card (name it "A" for ease of use).
also extract the 2011-06-11.14.14.27.zip into this folder on your sd card "/clockworkmod/backup/"
8. extract the superoneclick on your computer and launch it, while the phone is connected (should also be in usb debugging mode), press the root button in the superoneclick window and watch the magic, make sure you also install busybox (should be installed automatically when pressing the ROOT button).
9. disconnect your phone, use the file explorer provided with this rom and make sure you check with a "V" to "allow 3rd party apps" in the settings. install the 2ndinit1.4.2.apk file.
open the app after installation and make sure you have internet connectivity, press the install bootmenu option.(now pop-ups should appear regarding permissions, choose "allow" for all of them).
after the green led has turned on, go to settings menu under application/development and turn off the "usb debugging mode".
10. restart your phone and make sure you press the vol down button when the led turns blue during the bootup.
when in bootmenu, choose recovery-> custom recovery.
when in recovery, choose "wipe data/factory reset", "wipe cache", "advanced-> wipe dalvik".
now return to recovery menu and choose "backup/restore"->"restore->2011-06-11.14.14.27".
this should take a couple of minutes.
when its done, go back again to recovery menu, and choose again "wipe cache", "advanced-> wipe dalvik".
power off the phone.
11. hold the vol up button once again and power up the phone to go into bootloader screen.
connect your phone once again to your computer and on the rsdlite window choose the "firmware.sbf" file.
press start and flash it.
12. let the phone boot up, congrats you just revived your phone, root it once again using super one click (if needed), install the 2ndinit2.3.apk.
transfer whatever rom you like (dont try sbf's cause that's how I first got in this mess), reboot phone, go into stock recovery and install that zip after wiping data/factory reset. and ohh well you know the rest.
Good luck.
P.S if you can't or dont know where to find the files take a quick search in the forums and youll find most of them.

when i flash firmware.sbs it takes me back to Android Bootmenu when it reboots please help. thanks
Shouldnt happen, make sure you Wipe Data, and cache, before the nandroid backup and after the nandroid backup.
only then u can flash the firmware.sbf
if the bootmenu still comes up simply choose "Boot-> set default-> normal". and reboot.
if still comes back to bootmenu (and i hope you are talking about bootmenu and not bootloader). install through custom recovery your favorite ROM and don't forget the corresponding Kernel.
good luck!
Is that work with bl7 ???
I've been trying to restore my phone for weeks, up until this thread, I started to think the internet couldn't help me. You are a god amongst men.
OK, banging my head against a wall here; I have 2 defy's. Mine has been to a war zone 4 times, I've replaced the screen (and the waterproof gasket) once, It's broken (the case) but still works except for the fact that the last time I had to flash an sbf I messed up the charging ability with the "macguyver" method.
Now I recently got a pristine looking red lens defy from a friend who said it wasn't booting...It "tried" but never stayed booted long. I tried immediately flashing one of the fixed sbf's with CM10 on it, and ever since I get the bootloader 09.10 code corrupt message.
I've tried the method listed here (by the way the first firmware in OP won't download for me, something about violating some terms of agreement?) the one labeled simply "firmware" downloaded.
Still no joy. Every flash I get all the way through code group 32 checksums match. Everything after that fails. Have tried multiple CEE, Nordic, Chinese, even Defy+ sbf (the new defy has red lens) with no luck.
Likewise when I tried flashing via linux (sbf_flash). The other night after battery out for quite awhile it led me to believe it had started working, and allowed me to get into recovery and wipe everything, but it was all false hope. It still did not boot (motorola M boot loop) and likewise, it still did not flash.
Anyone have any ideas how I can proceed to fix this thing?
I thought I had this thing figured out but obviously I was mistaken.
thanks in advance
I just unbricked my phone again yesterday after trying the latest cm10 sbf with no luck, so i can guarantee this method still works, however the firmware.sbf file is really needed and also the nandroid backup, so here's what i'll do:
1. i'll check what links are broken and reupload the necassery files.
2. I'll clean the the first message and update the links
so check back in about an hour
Thanks a lot for posting this. Tried to restore my phone using lot of other posts since the last 3 to 4 days days, but all in vain.
Was anybody able to install CM10 over this? After the installation, the phone is going into boot loop.
Thanks rtk217 for starting this guide very useful for noobs...

hope it helps someone...

I am really not sure if you have read the posts properly. I had no problems in flashing the defy plus sbf. The defy plus sbf that I gave you was a bl6 version and you can never downgrade to froyo.
97.21.51 is a Chinese éclair with bl5. 2nd boot builds were not working on bl5.

I had the exact same thing happen to my A500 back in October. Have tried everything I could find on the net to restore it back to factory settings with no success. Of course it happened to me 2 months after the warranty ran out. To say Acer's support suck would be a complement.
Decided to give up on it and convert to one of the new Windows 8 hybrid tablets when available. Found the Android devices to be only good for email, surfing the net or playing around with useless apps that are gimmicky. At least with the windows 8 tablets you can run any of the programs that you run on your windows computer. They seem to have a similar price point as the Ipad but again, I think they are more practical for so many reasons.
I wish you luck and hope you have better luck then I did.
Cheers, TWC

Wots clear win 7? And why can't u update the drivers.
Wot ROM were u on? Maybe hard reset using rotation lock method.
A stock Update.zip might fix it, no drivers needed...
Have a read thru the first 2 guides in my SIG, you'll need yr cpuid for any unbrick method

clear - fresh installed (no messed drivers). I flashed new bootloader through APX. I were on full stock. Hard reset will clear my movies music and pictures from memory ? upadte zip doesnt works bcs recovery dont boot (only apx and fastboot now)
If you can get to fast boot mode wipe cache first and see if it boots... If it doesn't then flash a recovery.img via fast boot instead....make sure u have a compatible ICS ROM to flash once u have recovery

IF the auto flash tools do not work, you must use the manual nvflash method, if theres anything wrong it will give an error which you should post, along with what rom you were running.
To save yrself alot of trouble - go to the root guide in my sig and d/l babsector.rar - this will flash the v8/cwm and reset partitions - follow the instructions in that post - and be sure to do a full wipe b4 AND after flashing your rom - ICS/JB only

I would like to think I am pretty tech savvy but I want to know what the hell happened in this case. It is similar to what the OP describes but not exact.
First let me set up what the hell happened. I was using Flash Fox to watch Marvel Agents of Shield latest episode and was also downloading a game from the Play store, When all of a sudden it just went black. The screen was still on but it was black. Then the Acer logo came on and it stayed on. I thought it froze and held the power button to shut it off. It powered down just fine. I pressed the power agian and the Acer logo came up and again just hung there. I became a little perplexed and figured I could maybe go into the boot recovery menu by pressing the vol + and power. The little text in the upper left came up saying:
Erasing cache before SD Update...
SD Update CMD: recovery
--update_package=SDCARD: update.zip
Booting recovery kernel image
The Android bot comes up with the spinning blue matrix of leadership in his chest and a status bar appears below but then go directly to the bot on the ground with his chest open and a red ! triangle. It just hangs there for a minute or so and then the Acer logo pops back up and just hangs.
I think I bricked it and through no fault of my own it seems. I mean **** the thing was only running Ice Cream sandwich OS. I am not sure the exact version. All I want to do is see if I can recover the stock OS and have my tablet back. If that is not possible and I have to use a different way to recover using a custom ROM I can do that too. It seems to me that I need a file update.zip on my SD card which I removed before recovering but there is no file on my card named that. If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I have had my motorola Defy Plus running cyanogen for a year or so. Various versions, 2nd init.
Recently I decided to upgrade to Cyanogen version http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2515036
Got it installed and running ok but there were some glitches (maybe) so I started from scratch to be sure.
The method I used to completely re-initialise the phone is as follows.
repartitioned SD, wiped and flashed
DEFYPLUS_U3_4.5.1-134_DFP-231_BLUR_SIGN_USADEFYEMARAB1B8RTGB005.0R_PDS03C_USAJRDNGIBRRTGB_P023_A025_M002_Service1FF.sbf.gz
booted into stock android. installed framaroot - rooted.
installed 2nd init
installed twrp
updated recovery
wipe/reset
install cyanogen
The first time I did this it worked (but with some gapps glitches so to trouble shoot I thought I would start again.
Now this is the problem.
the second time when I tried to flash the stock rom RSD lite hung with "please manually reboot the phone"
After this it is impossible to get into stock recovery from the android triangle screen. When pressing both volume buttons the only thing that happens is the screen brightness toggles between light and dim.
I can get the phone to connect to RSD lite and I can flash ROMS - I have tried a few but I cannot get recovery, Always after flashing RSD says please manually reboot phone. The automatic reboot does nothing but get to the motorola or triangle screen, or a black screen sometimes.
Just to clarify - I have googled and tried many solutions, the main problem is that there is no stock recovery from the triangle screen so no solution that relies on this is working,
Any help appreciated. Thanks.
Stock recovery is included in the ... stock ROM (duh) so you need to install completely the stock ROM. But anyway at what serve stock recovery for you?

The one that usually works is DEFYPLUS_U3_4.5.1-134_DFP-231_BLUR_SIGN_USADEFYEMARAB1B8RTGB005.0R_PDS03C_US AJRDNGIBRRTGB_P023_A025_M002_Service1FF.sbf.gz
Which is the retail UK version for my phone. However when I try to flash it now with RSD it gets to the reboot stage but I am not sure it completes.

I think what would solve my problem would be a way of installing the above rom (which I believe includes the bootloader). I need to solve the problem of the flashing not progressing beyond the reboot stage.
I am using RSD Lite version 6.1.4
Any help appreciated. Thanks.
Boot in recovery. Do a total wipe (factory reset). Reboot in bootloader. Flash the .sbf.

There is no functioning recovery, so it is impossible to do a wipe. It is possible to flash a stock ROM (which should restore the recovery) using RSD lite but the process does not get past the reboot stage.
download again the sbf or flash another sbf.

Thanks - good advice I have been trying that. Meanwhile I will be looking out for other ways of solving the problem. I will let this thread know if anything works.
Thanks everyone.
