Hey Casey, I need some help with my Omnia 7. Bought it today and basically I cannot update via Zune I get error 8010048 I think and basically I think it means the guy who owned the phone before me flashed a custom rom which makes it unable to flash on Zune! Please help. Also my phone does not show up in the WP7 update tool either I was hoping installing the older rom from this thread might sort it. Oh well i hope you can help me in some way or another, cheers mate

Hi,
I'm replying to your PM via a new topic, so that others can contribute and benefit.
I've done a little research and it's an unexplained error code (i.e. not listed here). Since you cannot seem to flash a new ROM via the update tool we're a bit stuck.
Have you tried hard resetting the device?
Can you boot into Download Mode?
What are the software & firmware versions?
Casey
did you test the official Samsung patch for omnia 7 ?
I can see in other forum than it cause by faulty bootloader. Try the patch. And test again.

So basically, my phone works as it should (Just to confirm). I have actually been trying to flash via Zune originally but to no avail. I then tried to flash with the Windows tool downloadable in Casey's post, my phone was not detected I tried front and back ports in my PC.
I ran the 'Walshed' Phone tool which is said to fix this issue, I have run it 3 times and on the third time it worked I now have the latest update. Anyone who is having issues downloading the 'Walshed' Phone Support Tool, use IE 8 or 9 I used IE 9 and it worked but would not initiate the download with Opera. Cheers for your help guys
When the official German ICS ROM LPY was released I decided to flash it using Odin rather than wait for the official UK ROM for my UK Note. I thought because it was an official ROM there would be little risk and I would be able to replace it with the UK ROM when that was released.
However, now that the official UK ROM is available I find that I cannot flash it with Odin because Odin no longer detects the Note in download mode. I also found that I could not use Kies because although it could detect the Note, it did not recognise it for updates.
I have never rooted my Note or flashed anything other than the official ICS ROM LPY using Odin.
So I had a working Note but no way of returning to a UK ROM or updating the installed German ROM. So I decided to change the CRC code to the German one ODT to match the German ROM and that seems to have fixed the Kies problem. Changing the CRC code does a factory reset but at least I now might be able to use Kies or OTA for future German ICS updates.
If you search using Google you will find loads of people who can no longer use Odin because it no longer detects their phone. Many reasons have been suggested such as bad USB cable, wrong or corrupt drivers, interference from Kies running in the background etc and I have tried those solutions without success. But I believe that in some cases it is the result of flashing the wrong firmware as I did
Some people have then tried to use recovery mode to solve the problem and ended up not being able to use their phone at all. There are others who are stuck on a buggy custom ROM and cannot use Odin to escape.
I am hoping that there will eventually be an official German ICS update that I can flash using Kies or OTA that will replace my current German ROM and allow me to use Odin again to flash the correct UK ROM.
I'm lucky that at least I can still use my Note normally even though it has German firmware. But if I eventually manage to get the UK firmware installed and running again then I will wait for the correct official updates for my Note in future.
You sure have a weird problem. Did you try on a different computer?
Maybe mobile odin could be helping you out, it's in play store.
i know that you really need the correct drivers to let Odin detect your device, installing kies takes care of that, but i know there are separate drivers around here somewhere to so you won't need kies on your PC (it highly interferes with Odin).
I would give you the link but am on my Note now.

Hi, uninstall Kies and reboot your PC. Then download the latest version of kies and install it again. Connect your Note via USB cable and wait for the drivers to get installed. Then put your phone in download mode, close kies and connect the Note to the PC. Wait for Windows to automatically download and install the drivers. Once the drivers are installed, open ODIN. It should detect your phone in Download Mode.

If you read some of the many posts by people who cannot use Odin to flash any more then you will see people have tried different computers, separate drivers, Kies drivers, starting Odin in administrator mode, several cables including official Samsung USB cable, trying Kies Mini, using Task Manager to stop any Kies software running whilst using Odin etc. but to no avail. Which is why I believe the problem for some people is within the Note and not the PC.
Unfortunately, in order to use Mobile Odin you need to be rooted and you need to use Odin get root. Although I read a post here recently where someone had developed a way to root without using Odin. It would be interesting to hear from anyone who has used that non-Odin root method to use Odin Mobile to flash a new ROM.

Yes, that is the method I was talking about. You could try MobileOdin available in Google Play to see if you can run it and perhaps flash a rom. That would be interesting for it would eliminate all the PC problems.

Why don't you give it a go yourself:

I've just set up my device as i wish and have no intention of flashing it again..sorry
I am on LPY and was able to flash SpeedMod via PC Odin with no problems.
Try different USB port and use the original Samsung USB cable. I never used Kies before, so I am not sure about this part. I used to setup the driver installer only.
Hope it helps..
This is for the out of the box KDZ firmware. If you took the recent OTA and updated, BEWARE. LG has been implementing a security LOCK that prevents and HARDBRICKS your device if you try to downgrade.
I know that the LG G4 will hard brick if you attempt to downgrade. There has been no reports of bricking by doing this if you previously taken the Verizon OTA update but be warned and be prepared to potentially blow up your device.
This method is specifically for those who Rooted the Stock 11A and want to revert back to stock so they CAN take the OTA. There is no confirmed method to gain root on the newer OTA firmware. So beware on that too.
I was on a Rooted 11A stock image and I just flashed the KDZ back to Stock 11A (non-rooted):
Method + Drivers + LG Flash Tool:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797190
VK81511A_21.kdz
http://pkg02.azure.gdms.lge.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=FW456X8132XBARR49C7DCVM/VK81511A_21.kdz
Copy everything to a folder on your desktop.
Download Mode:
POWER OFF DEVICE
Once off, press and hold VOL-UP and insert USB cable
Make sure you install "Download mode" drivers. Look in the "COM PORTS" section of device manager. You should see a "DIAG" driver on some random COM port (mine was COM6).
Launch LG Flash Tool.
First Window:
KEEP DEFAULT SETTINGS. Load the KDZ (from above) into the Flash Tool. Click CSE FLASH.
Second Window:
Just click Start
Third Window:
KEEP THE DEFAULT Language settings. The KDZ will determine the language.
And finally, just let it do its thing. I didn't have an error but it would probably be driver related. I initially saw a bunch of "?????????" in the Status (fourth) Window. That is normal. Your Tablet should display the same COM Port your DIAG driver was installed on. But just leave it alone. A full install took about 5-10minutes. I walked away and came back to the new Setup Screen.
This link doesn't seem to work anymore. Any chance you still have a copy you could upload somewhere?
Does anybody still have a copy of VK81511A_21.kdz
I have checked every link on google without any luck...
Is there any method that I can use to remove root from my VK815 tablet. I have spent the last three days trying to use the Marshmallow KDZ with LGFlashTool2014(because I cannot find the original VK81511A_21.kdz, it appears to have disappeared from the internet) I also tried using LGUP, but it will not work because you need a device specific dll for LGUP and i cannot find the vk815 dll.
I have read that the reason that LGFlashTool2014 dont work is because my KDZ file is marshmallow which flash tool does not like.
So I figure I either need a lollipop kdz file to use with flash tool, or I need the dll file for the vk815 to use with LGUP. I cannot find either on the internet, or maybe there is another way that I can remove root, I really would appreciate any help I can get.
I will use any method whatsoever if it can just remove the root, any help is greatly appreciated.
EDIT: OK to follow up, LG Flash tool 2014 will NOT work with a marshmallow image(which is all that is online at 99% of sites) I did FINALLY manage to find the original VK81511A_21.kdz file, and it DOES work with LG Flash tool 2014, I think the only way to install a marshmallow kdz is with LGUP but it requires a device specific dll, in our case the dll for VK815, which I was unable to find.
The place that I managed to find VK81511a_21.kdz was on a chinesse site wangpan114 which redirects to baidu also a chinesse site, and you have to download their download manager, and also manage to figure out how to register on a site that is not in english.
If anyone needs this kdz file just send me a private message, I plan on keep a copy on my drive.

Hey,
Has anyone succes in unbricking a Meizu device with the mediatek sp flash tool?
I personally have a bricked MX5 (thanks to the A**hole who made the MX5 BT unlock topic)
nope... still cannot bypass the secure base-band chip problems... the only available method is to program the boot to load the original source code and to creat a
1 - android-info.txt
2- android-product.txt
specific for mx5.. im still experimenting this though.. so far no progress yet..
If we can get this working, hard bricked devices can get recovered with fastboot I think?
Is there a way I can help you?

yes, hardbrick can be recovered if only we can bypass the secure baseband chip.. im still learning the code to creat those 2 files that i mentioned earlier.. so far no good.. still need time to identify which code that can match the baseband chip pass code. i convert update.zip to aboot.img with android file.txt that i creat. but still the code are not match. there is 1 way to reset the baseband chip, but need usb tongled and removed emmc card to reset all.. thats hell of a way to do becoz its include hardware modifications. and also need few device that only availble in chinesse , not mention the language though.. for now lets hope for master yus to bring the miracles to us..
I've found another flash tool, it seems to be provided by meizu themselves with a chinese manual called: MultiUpgrade 4.8.5 bundled with MultiUpgrade 4.8.5

You can install unsigned drivers in windows by shift clicking while reseting windows. You will be prompted later on on various options of reboot. One of them is going to be to not enforce signed drivers. If you have any trouble finding this option, look it up "reboot not enforcce signed drivers". You will find what you need.

hey mate,
great job, I managed to start lgup for the first time without the dreaded dll-error.
Anyhow, it stopps with an error on all 3 kdz I downloaded (whose checksums are ok), saying the kdz are corrupted. Any idea what could cause this?
LG G6 H870, in case that matters.
