Hello.
I am having some problem installing cyanogenmod on my x10i, i have tried many other roms but none will install.
i have tried every tips in xda but i still get the E: error in /sdcard/ update.zip
(status 7).
i'm desperate, i so want to install cyanogen on my mobile or any other stable and quite beautifull rom, because my stock rom is so lame, it keeps rebooting, crashing, freezing, i'm like reformating this thing every month, because it crashes.even if i install nothing on my mobile exept usefull stuffs.
My idea was if i cannot install any custom roms on my x10i, can someone who actually was able to install it help me on how it needs to be done or else make a nandroid backup of his cyanogenmod installed on his mobile and upload it somewhere for me to download it and restore it to my mobile it would be great.
Thanks everybody for your help in advance

Heya, the N1 is my first phone so a lot of this is brand new territory for me
Anyhow I had a problem with a metamorph theme so i used nandroid to restore back to an update i made this morning (After i rooted N1). However now apps that require root access (Metamorph, N1 torch etc) are now all running into errors such as cannot access LED, cannot extract files (Even though all partitions have at least 40% free space).
Any ideas guys? Thanks!
EDIT: One of the root programs i tried to run stated that it can only run in read-only mode, is this familiar to anyone? Thanks!
your answer is in other parts of the forum but you still have root just dont have su permission anymore. you can flash a custom rom or flash the cyanogen add-on. pm if you need help
Ah right, is this common after a nandroid backup? Could someone perhaps post the link to the cyanogen add-on? I'm currently running the latest cyanogen for the nexus one, thanks
As far as I know the Cyanogen add-on is the Cyanogen rom. It is not a completely standalone rom, just sort of a patch for the stock rom.
I just re-flashed the rom and everything is sweet again. This is my first android phone never mind first rooting experience so all this is new Cheers guys

Hello everyone,
This is my first post here but i'm not new here. I have a rooted htc wildfire. I installed a few roms but after wildpuzzle 0.6 it isn't possible for me to update/ flash to Wildpuzzle 0.7. I tried different roms but al wit the same problem. I wiped my data and i restored the factory settings. I also format my but still no luck.
I recovered my phone using a nand backup. I'm on an old 2.1 rom again. Does anyone know the problem. I will make a picture if you need to.
Thank you
Specifically, what error / problem do you face when you tried to update from WildPuzzle 0.6 to 0.7? Also, what procedure are you using to update the ROM / Install the ROM? You should just choose the Install Zip from SDC in the Recovery Menu, and, it should automatically update the ROM.
I wanted to make a picture but its fixed. I turned signature off and now its working. Thank you for your anwser.
Hey everybody,
I'm fairly new at this. i have successfully loaded cyanogenmod7 but i'm having a few issues with it. I can't for the life of me configure the calendar on this mod i downgraded to 6.1 to see if i could use that calendar but that is the same. For some reason it requires my email address and after i input my info it gives me a message saying "unable to open connection to server."
I also can't find the gapp installation procedure for htc legend i'm not sure if it requires the MDPI version for Cyano 7 or if that only applies to Cyano 6.1
If anyone can help that would be very much appreciated.
I'm also not sure if i'm being specific enough
Not sure about your calendar issue but see the bottom of this CM wiki page for which version of gapps you need and the link to it.
Thanks. Would you happen to know how to install the gapps zip onto the phone?

Same way as roms. Flash it from recovery.
I've just tried to do that but when i flash it no changes have occured there aren't any google apps installed. I read a few more articles and attempted it using the rom manager however as soon as i try to reboot with clockwork a "?" appears and then it just reboots and starts as normal.
Am i doing something wrong?
Don't worry i just fixed it. Turns out even though the gapps was for the legend the one that works for CM7 was the gapps zip under the one for CM7 it doesn't matter if its MDPI or not.
Thank you for all your help Jabbado!
All, I have read through the wiki and the CM boards and just can't seem to get CM7 Nightlies to install. Here is what I have done:
- Used Pete's Motorola Root Tools to root my wife's stock Droid X
- Used the Droid 2 Bootloader and installed Clockworkmod Recovery on the system
I can access the recovery without any issues. I also was able to run Titanium Backup and backup all apps and data. In addition I was able to run a Nandroid from recovery.
I tried wiping cache/data/davlik and installing both the 148 and 149 nightly releases. Each time I get the following error:
assert failed: run_program("/tmp/check_kernel")
E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted

Now I have been rooting and installing ROMs for a while now, but only on HTC phones. This Moto is kicking my butt.
I am trying to give my wife the CM7 experience on her Motorola but can't seem to get there.
I was able to restore nandroids and get the phone running as expected for regular use.
Thanks in advance for the help everyone.
PS - I already spent a few hours searching here, DroidForums, Cyanogen Forums, and a few other places including web searches over Google. Pretty stumped.
I *think* that is a froyo build.
Try installing one of RevNumbers unofficial Nightlies from Rootzwiki.

That did it! Great work man!!! Thank you!
I don't even know where I should begin.
Ever since my first android (s3) i wanted to install CM on it, tried a few times but failed.
Now I'm a gt i9505 owner ( i sure do think that is my model, it says so in phone info atleast ).
Been rooting in numberous of times, been flashing cwm numberous of times, been trying to install different versions of CM to it.
No sucess at all, just failing all the time and I have to factory reset my phone.
So this is more like a two part question.
How in the hell do i get my phone to run CM?
And next thing. I had to stock install it via odin many times too. got everything back the first few times but the two last time I install stockrom, i get no google apps at all.
Tried to download a google play apk, two different version , still no sucess..
Is there anyone here that can help me ?
Much appreciated.
Download XXUBMH1 and follow this guide to install official stock ROM, after that install PhilZ Touch recovery and then follow this guide to install CM 10.2
Thank you very much, I should try that then
