Im glad you brought that up i remember reading on a forum 3 months ago that JB will come in 2 versions ; JB and JB Lite...they said JB lite is for lower end devices i was mind f*cked...could our tiny little X8's have a shot at yet ANOTHER major update ??? But hey, these are all reports and rumours...Google hasnt even started working on it, let alone build a lite version of it
Sent from my X8 using Tapatalk
We will see about jb...cyanogenmod released sources for cm9 for armv6...cm10?i dont know...jb lite?it may be for lower-end phones, but i think for lower end armv7 phones.it would be plain stupid if google makes android 5.0 for armv6 but didnt make 4.0 wouldnt it?

mini cm9 support 5ghz wifi tweak?
any1 can tell me the thread 5ghz wifi tweak?
JB??=Justin Beiber? hehe.
Oh well see about that if our mod still accept the JB challenge in the near future..
Me afraid our x8 is too old until that day
XDA members can do anything then why not JB (Justin Beiber )

arco has pretty much confirmed any attempts to have an ICS SDK port up and running are going to be futile, because the ICS SDK doesn't support the old ARMv6 CPU, period

Thought it might help!
It's absolutely hopeless to port ICS SDK because it only supports ARMv7 and above. The ICS sources might as well be hopeless because the HTC Wildfire lacks the support of GPU and it has a very slow processer.
Update for all - Wildfire Ice Cream Sandwich
Sorry for cross posting ... i was reading up on the same question, can wildfire work for ICS? Well good news ... someone has already started - unofficially. Its still being worked upon but seems there is hope.
Check the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1355189
Officially Ice Cream Sandwich will never be on Wildfire. Its simply not viable for business. No wonder HTC didnt upgrade to Gingerbread.

That's a bad port, but the CyanogenMod maintainer for the Wildfire, Arco, has been working on a proper ICS build, there's videos if it running with sound, so very soon we'll be seeing ICS on our devices if Arco manages to get it done!
Amen to that. hope to see ICS on Wildfire soon

Won't Android 4.0 run horibbly slow on the wildfire?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
yes it will be slow on the Wildfire. It was never meant to support ICS. Especially since there is no GPU and low end processor + RAM. However, the devs are working on alternatives to reduce the dependence on GPU.
Fingers Crossed and hoping for the best.

His main device is the Samsung Galaxy W but he is making some changes now and then to the buzz.
Hope they fix most of the serious things. The idea of simply having ICS running smooth on the wildfire sounds good.
The following devices having quite similar specs like Galaxy Y and they have a ICS port-
Galaxy Fit
Galaxy Mini/Pop
Galaxy Ace
Now there are custom kernels also available for the ease of porting. So are there any devs working on porting ICS to our Galaxy Y?

Because Galaxy Young is not a high end device that even Samsung won't bother porting ICS to it.
In the mean time, use Chobits Digitalis v1. 6. The best ROM for SGY to date.

Sent from my GT-S5360 using XDA
It is possible.... but is going to take time... keep in mind how long this device has been on the market. ICS requires a minimum of basic kernel mods at the worst a complete kernel rewrite. Along with this we will have problems with Sensors camera radio classes etc etc etc. There is much more as well. Relax this will take time.

As a matter of fact,,I should have! This Rom has a lot of "issues" that I previously didn't have with Gingerbread..
Chrome keeps on freezing (that may be the app itself though).. And just now I had a problem with the screen where everything just went sort of grainy and screen was unresponsive and had to restart the device. Also, ICS feels a bit laggy than Gingerbread when swiping between home screens etc.
Because this is an import phone ( which is probably why I got the update first, is it possible to swap this 'Switzerland' ICS Rom, with an official "NZ" ICS Rom when it comes out?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
I was waiting for NZ ICS when I first got my phone. But soon after and understanding the brick bug and that ICS has a short battery time (and thats about the only distinction) I will be staying on GB instead.
And to change your phone to "NZ" you need to change the country flag in the phone.
My GNote which is german, received the ics update in May. Can't believe there are people still waiting for the update. My GNote is running awesome on ics, no issues at all....as a matter of fact it's better on ics than my sgs2 is on ics. It's definitely worth updating, imo.
---------- Post added at 07:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:01 PM ----------
I had no problems updating to ics and my GNote runs awesome on ics!
i been run custom ICS rom since i have my note 3 month now (kingdroid, rocket rom, crash and now is Criskelo rom V8) and ofcouse my note had bug but i still think ICS custom rom are better than GB

Yes please. that would be great. But do look at other PA based roms which sometimes have many more features before you decide which one to port.

Guys, if you're really going to do this, why won't you stop all the fuss and start working? I think spamming the thread (with posts like: "I WANT TO BE TESTER!", "Do for my device first!") won't really help. Please stop all the spamming and only post useful posts and let the OP tell you when the Alpha or Beta is done to you guys test . I read all the comments on the two pages and all I saw on the second page were spam, please that's not useful! Why not to come with an useful tip for him or something like that? You already showed your love to this idea, now let the dev do the work. Thanks for your comprehension.
