[q] help!!!...steps to get more ram in x8? - XPERIA X8 General

Hello, i´m noob i know....
I wanna know how to get more ram in my x8, like Real Ungaze post (500mb+).
I´ve read that ungaze code is inside Gingerdx so, anyone can tell how to make partition work?
I´ve read that you have to backup your data, make a partition with CWM and then flash your data back in te partition <==== i´m doing something wrong.
IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO DO THIS PLEASE TELL ME.
Thanks.

All you need to swap is here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1585644&highlight=how+to+swap but you cant swap too much..

Sweetie please be reminded that the RAM cannot exceed on what phone specs gives you. If the phone say its 128 memory you cannot go beyond that without sacrificing something

also do not try to look constantly how much ram is free..it will make you more and more to kill apps , try all that crap stuffs which can decrease your fone's life..swapping is not a bad option but it will damage your sd card

(Question) Ready Boost for flash cards

Hi i have downloaded windows 7 rc and there you have a nice option to use your usb stick for gaining extra RAM for boosting up your system
My question is is it possible to take an amount of an sd card like 8gb , like 1gb of it for giving this space for the device for using as RAM?
At my opinion flash cards are fast enough to do this job
Sry for my english

maximize internal memory using sd

hello i am using stock desire rom on my hd2 and i wanna maximize the internal memory. i already partition my sd at 1024mb ext3 and nothing. i also downloaded rom manager and try to partiotionining my sd from there and nothing.
what should i do ?
i also had rafdroid 2.3 and it was working with 1024mb shared memory but the rom was tooo laggy
thanks
no one ? gosh pls help me
Need help w/ this too, please rply..! I saw that it is possible to extend int. memory w/ SD in a thread on a site called allshadow, but it went down, can't get to the tutorial and I srsly need to do sth about it. I'm pretty sure it's already somewhere posted (even if not on this forum), but can't help finding it for a while now, couldn't just someone post a link or sth? With huge amount of gratitude forward...
Are you using cwr? Cause if you are the smaller you make system data the more internal memory you will have. But Partition sizes should be in the op of the rom you are flashing.

[Q] LF Guide for noob, "How to make all your apps go to + work from sd card"

[Q] LF Guide for noob, "How to make all your apps go to + work from sd card"
Hello, im using hd2 512mb with ultimate droid on it, flashed using CWM.
There are realy good guides on how to instal nand to your hd2, and they are all very helpfull and quite easy to understand. However i've seen only one guide how to make all ur apps go to sd card and to work from it, call me noob that i am, but its hard for me to understand how this partitioning and so on works...
So can anyone help out and make an easy to understand guide how to do so? After all apps and ability to have ALOT of them are one of the reasons we choose android.
P.S. I know this may look stupid for a person who understands it, but be understanding. For me flashing a rom at the first time looked hard too, now, i honestly never miss to write a coment and help out if i see a person like me, who has not learned it all.
this rom got issue ... it dont use ext4!
BEEN trying it.. it just dont use
I dont rly know how but i configured it myself and it works, i formated sd, with some simple prog., and made ext3 or ext4 (dont remember know, but i did it based by the guide given in ultimate droid thread), anyways there are a few options in CWM and in ultimate droid itself for apps to go to sd (and it recognizes the partition i made, works amazing now, got 30 apps, biggest -100mb and i only use 30 mb internal storage =)
anyway ty for reply, good to know ppl care =)

[Q] Flash ROM On MicroSD Instead Of Internal Memory!

As The Title Suggests, Is There Any Way To Install A ROM Onto A 16GB MicrSDHC (class 10) Instead Of The Phones Internal Memory?
I 'Googled" It For Several Hours, Unfortunately Did Not Find An Answer.
Let Me Explain Further As To What I'm Really Trying To Accomplish. I Want To Flash A(ny) ROM Onto The MicroSD Card So I Will Have The Entire Internal Memory Free On My G1. And Then (if at all possible) Somehow Use The Internal Storage As Extended RAM.
Even If This Seems "Close To Impossible", Could Someone With Enough Knowledge (a dev?) Explain How Something Like This "Could" Be Accomplished??
Thanks For Your Time! Can't Wait To Read What People Have To Say About This..
Ideas & Possible Solutions Are Better Than Just Saying 'It Can't Be Done..etc'
As for installing a rom onto sdcard (even on ext2 partition as it is being done on the HTC Fuze/Diamond/Topaz/etc windows series phones), it is completely possible, but it is very slow.. i don't see why you would want to do that even compared to NAND install if you have lots of ram
I used to be a developer for the HTC Fuze (Touch Pro) and made a 2.2 aosp SD-ext rom, it still isn't as fast as the G1 even though it has slightly higher specs: 288 ram, msm7201a (same cpu as htc dream)..
You can't extend the RAM, but you can make it swapspace. It would kill the internal memory very quickly because it is only yaffs and has a limited number of read and writes...

Google Android rom's or Operating systems have rules and limits, I do know androids 2.2 did not allow system files to run outside /system folder, now it's allowing more as you see lot's of rom's using /ext (linux partitions) I do not know all the limits, but do believe there has to be a part of the rom in internel memory to be able to boot sd-card

528 MB are definetly not enough for a backup. I had a look in my backup directory. The system itself need 300 MB and in my case the date came with 500 MB. Depends how much apps and music, etc... you have but in this case you will have to buy a bigger micro SD or make a seroius cleaning of your data
