Evo with woodgrain battery cover

So, I was bored tonight, and I had some 3M Di-Noc vinyl laying around. Here's what I did:

It's totally removable (doesn't leave residue behind), but I think it came out pretty well. The cutouts for the speaker and flash aren't nearly as noticeable in real life.

That's pretty good.

it looks really good, personally I would have changed the light and speaker holes and not cut out the HTC

wow this looks amazing! you should sell these, or at least do a tutorial! I'd love to do this to my Evo.

I like the look, but not as much as the carbon fiber. Also, if you have some left over, I think it'd look a lot better without the blocky holes cut out.
Perhaps follow my diy, if you'd like.

I don't like the poked out speaker hole look, but with I should've done the LEDs like you did yours (and like I did my original one).
This is the first one I did (white carbon fiber) a while back:

On ^ that one, I didn't bother doing the speaker holes because I didn't like the look of the white, and I took it off right after taking those pics.
I also have a lighter woodgrain one that I'm going to try to see what it looks like. The samples I'm using were all free, and I should be getting some more in the mail soon.

Now I can relax when i open the back cover and see it creaking and bending!

Thanks for the video, I changed phone providers (with many problems ) so feel much better since I change SIMS twice a day until my provider port over my old number.

Well, I'll show no mercy while removing the back cover from now on. That would not refrain me to buy a gel case though.

Didn't surprise me at all. It's flimsy because it's thin, but that doesn't mean it's weak or will break easily. I've always loved the thin back-cover

I've never really quite thought the accusation of bad build quality was ever warranted on the Galaxy S phones. Who the hell wants to carry a brick anyway!
I personally think the build quality on the S2 is noticeably better than its predecessor too. I can't quite understand some comments I've seen from some folks ruling out the SGS2 as they'll say stuff like "it wouldn't last 24 months etc". Load of balls if you ask me...

ive owned over 10 phones and if i ever did that it would break

I also feel the build quality is excellent.I never have any problem turning heads whenever I take the phone out of my pocket in public. Its a sure shot attention grabber if thats the kind to thing you need to get a ego boost.
Today I went back to using my old mobile Nokia N86 (while S2 was charging), and I was surprised by how ancient that phone feels now, just after using S2 for 7 days.
The best phone I have had till date, now that I have seen this video, I know its durable too...........

That's the Korean model (to be specific, the SHW-M250S for SK Telecom).

Not sure if the K or L model have the same back cover, or if it's a carrier-specific thing though.
EDIT: Looks like the SHW-M250L (for LG U+) has a different logo. A different camera layout too.

Woot plastic ftw! Though for the price we paid it shoulda been titanium, just sayin

I think you may be right. This isn't what we used to see from Nokia.
Anyway, Nokia is the only WP device manufacturer I like but their design is worth to be redesigned to a new modern and elegant type of design. They don't look bad, but they don't look as good as many other devices.
Thats why I created this mockup.

Yesterday I got my new phone--White Samsung Galaxy S III I9300. It is very beautiful and i like it very much.

Close inspection looks like very poorly made, dodgy stitching, the plastic of the phone holder looks like it is of the hard/brittle type.....looks lovely, but suspect quality imho

Looking on the pics from link - ordinary plastic ruins all effect, compared to... other models on photo above.
It looks like someone got an ancient-style made golden necklace with the can opened in the centre of it

My honest opinion is that it does look pretty cool.
Even though i wouldnt have it myself.
But i dunno. Just feels like its more the kinda thing you see for iphone for than s3 lol.
But any way thats only my opinion mate

At first I thought I'd rather see the Gold Note Edge version called the Joe Strummer model than naming a new snail species named after him. I have too much respect for the snail!

Gold is a bit too obvious...
The thing that makes the edge distinctive is its sleek look: functional and attractive in an unusual but still understated manner. In my subjective opinion, the gold trim doesnt quite fit that ethos - it kind of screams "look at me".

Cool but not my taste.

What are people's thoughts on removing the black/white paint on the metal sides so that that the whole trim is silver/brushed aluminium?
What would be the best way to do it? Rubbing lightly with a scourer while holding a vacuum nozzle nearby to make sure fine particles don't get into the phone?
Some sort of solvent?
