HTC Scene Location

I and others have asked this question before but never seem to get an answer. But do any of you know where the HTC scenes are located in the update.zip for hero roms. I have a lot of icons and widgets and i think it would be nice if i didnt have to rebuild my home screens after each flash. Plz and thank you
If I'm not mistaken you can backup your Homescreens with "Backup for Root" (in the market) and restore it after you flashed a new ROM
backup for root doesnt do that. Ive tried.
framework-res.apk system/framework
or
rosie.apk apps folder

Yes, you can. Just download Titanium Backup to backup all user apps (including settings) and restore them on your new build. By default Titanium Backup will compress them, however there is a setting to have them stored uncompressed which means that the apps themselves will be saved as apk's and the settings will be tarred/zipped (allthough theres no need to not compress them, if you use TB for restore). If you want to restore your apps, just backup your Titanium Backup folder from your SD-card, install the new build, install Titanium Backup from Market, start it once, exit, copy the entire folder back to your SD-card. Next time you open Titanium Backup it will show your backup and you can select individual or all apps to restore.

[Q] Why i cannot Update LauncherPro with Racht's Froyo 0.20 ROM

Hello,
I have Racht Froyo 0.20 ROM installed on my X8 and i can't update LauncherPro.
Is this normal because LauncherPro is bundled with the ROM?
Same problem, reported on Floyo's thread.
Probably is because Floyo includes LauncherPro Plus, the paid version.
In Racht Froyo 0.20, LauncherPro is a system app. For upgrade:
0 - Backup your system com xRecovery.
1 - Install other Launcher and set to default.
2 - Remove LauncherPro with Titanium Backup.
3 - Install LauncherPro from Market
4 - Set LauncherPro to default.
5 - Remove other Launcher.
PS: Never uninstall LauncherPro until install a new Launcher.
it's a system app so we can't update it...do what the upper post said

Same problem. Froyo 0.20 came with LauncherPro Plus. This is paid version. Maby this is a problem. Installation error on my device is: Installation error – Package file was not signed correctly.
I have a different problem.
Floyo's in call mute does not work. Is there a way I can extract the calling apk's from another ROM and insert it here unto this ROM?
I mean AFTER installing the ROM, not before.
(Say there are x.apk and y.apk and so on... get them from another ROM, replace x.apk and y.apk in floyo)
is it possible?
I don't no if it will works, but try it!
Download this edited phone.apk: http://www.mediafire.com/?fqlsdwcqc8eurag
Make a backup of phone.apk, he is in the folder "system/app"
Paste the "phone.apk" in system/app using root explorer, overwrite it, set permissions at rw-r--r--
try it, but do not forget to assign permissions to the file...
will try that. already replaced a cm6 phone apk with the floyo's apk, it stuck in a loop of FCs. maybe its the permissions!
SUCCESS!
I didn't use the apk you gave me. But the apk that was in my system folder. Which was a working mute key, whereas Floyo's mute wasn't working for me! now the mute works! Thanks for the tip about permissions!
FYI
this is the ROM that I took the phone apk from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1036335
(Thanks to lizypen)
and pasted it on Floyo 0.20. (of course thanks go to Racht)
P.S. I might sound like a real n00b right now, I'm just typing these assuming someone who wants to do it wont screw things up! and no one needs to re-invent the wheel

[Q] how can i change the launcher and gallery in a rom

hey im really new into this i just want to know somthing about the launchers and deh gallery....
i just rooted my dhd and flashed icecoldsandwitch on it...
didnt found any bugs jet working very well...
but i want to get rid of the 3 launchers and the standard gallery... is there a way i can repleace the gallery with quickpic and the launchers with launcherpro??? so i can get rid of em ...
would be nice if smb could help me...
There are several apps out there that allow u to uninstall system apps. I use Link2SD myself. With it u can uninstall any syestem app or if don't want to uninstall it u can just freeze it. It also has an option to convert 3rd party apps to system apps so u could convert QuickPik to system/app if u wanted. And u could use it to get rid of or freeze all those launchers too. I believe Titanium Backup can do all of that too. Or an app call Root Uninstaller. Just look on the Play Store & u'll see several but i recommend Link2SD personally. Good luck
Open the ROM zip file in 7-zip or WinRAR, Delete the Apex, Nova, and Trebuchet Launcher apks from /system/app and put in the launcher you want. Preferably keep Trebuchet (Launcher2.apk) along with the launcher you want. So in case it doesn't work, there's a launcher for your phone to use to rather than pull out the battery and re-flash ROM. Same with gallery. Delete Gallery2.apk and put QuickPic apk in /system/app. Finally flash ROM. No need to wipe anything, the IceColdSandwich updater script formats /system, /cache and dalvik-cache.

How to Backup & Restore System apps for ROMs testing?

I mostly convert my Favourite Apps like Greenify,Modded Play Store, ES file Explorer Pro, QuickPic, Multiling, Xposed,MX Player, GravityBox, AdAway and Mini Desktop (Launcher) etc to System Apps. I often Replace these apps with Stock Gallery, File Manager and Launcher Apps.
This Method give me a Lot of free space on Data Partition and Factory Reset protection too.
So there is an issue. Whenever I try to shift on a new ROM or Testing new Roms. It is very difficult to install all my apps to that new ROM one by one then Convert them to System apps again and then configure each apps.
So I want to ask To ROM testers what they choose the method to switch one ROM to other ROMs with all their previous apps (System and User with data). Only Titanium Backup provides this facility to create a Flashable Zip of System and User Apps and their Data to flash through recovery to new ROM. But after Jelly Bean Most of Functions of Titanium Backup are not working. So last time Flashable Zip did not work completely for me when I was going to test RR 6.2..
Please Help, Any method that can Backup My Converted System Apps and User apps with their data and then Restore these to New Rom. Thanks.
