I have the url for a online radio stream which comes on a few times a day and is not 24/7.
I have used tunewiki in the past to listen to it on my phone but sometimes the stream doesn't come up. Is there a free app on the market which is easier to use so I can simly paste the url and listen on my tablet?
I'm using XiiaLive, very happy about it.

TuneIn Radio could work... but it doesn't require URL's though...
Search anything you'd like... there's like 50000 radiostations online...
yeah tunein radio is really good, it's got pretty much every radio station you'd want. i even managed to get an obscure london southbank station that i didn't expect would come up.
you can schedule it to tune into a station at specific times, and the pro version let's you record as well - but not schedule a recording for when your away from the tablet unfortunately.
+1 for tunein. Its in my experience the best radio app available for Android.
Shame it still runs like **** on my Novo7 basic, but thats besides the point
I'm using serve stream.

New app for Sirius on market place. Can anyone install this and confirm it as being compatible on EVO. It was one of the apps I was worried about losing when I drop the iphone next week for the EVO.
http://www.engadget.com/2010/05/28/sirius-xm-android-app-hits-the-market/
Thanks.
Why would it not work?
dont know. just going off of what i read in the article. said something about list of confirmed devices. so....
doesnt hurt to have a confirmation.
I downloaded this app on my EVO 4G. It works fine.
awesome. thanks.
is it xm or sirius?
Both. Same company now.
I just got an email from Sirius yesterday that there Android App is out. I was so excited. It should work on the EVO. I had it on my TP2 and loved it. I can't wait to get my EVO next week.
works on my HTC Touch running Android too.

I verified it. It is running XM. Though they are the same company now and have merged many of their channels, they still have a few subtle differences. Mainly for me, I like to listen to the Opie and Anthony show. It's available on XM, but if you have Sirius, you have to pay more for the best of XM package.
works on my htc hero. wonder how much for a scrip. to just stream to your phone?
I'm pretty sure you have to get a full subscription, and then the add on to be able to stream.
for me, its no big deal. i already got the sub since i have it in my jeep. but i added the stream add on for when i'm in my wifes car, or at work. i know a lot of people like slacker and pandora, and i do to. but for 3 bucks a month, its a good option also.
I have it in my car and online at the beginning was always free with having it in your car than they changed it.. So I've had a subscription for a while. I just got offered a deal when my sub was up if I prepaid for a year.

It's running perfect. Listening to Zeppelin now.
Loads quick and good quality.
I can't even locate the app in the Market. Typed in 'Sirius' 'XM' 'satellite' 'radio' ... nothing
On what phone Android the Hero? I can't wait to get my EVO. My new Jawbone Icon is suppose to play MP3's and Podcast so I hope it works for Sirius. On my TP2 it was under the market place under Sirius I believe. But for my Android I got an email link I think where to get it from..

My review:

Sirius would be such a great company/service if they did ANYTHING or added even ONE suggestion to their devices from their customers. It's too bad, such a great idea for music and uncensored talk, but of course run by NYC a-holes...
I'm I blind or is there no Howard 100 in this app?? Come on, half your subscribers are here for that channel alone!
I have an idea for an app that somebody could create.
I had an iPhone for 3 years and there was an app called F-Stream for it. It worked flawlessly. I mainly used it for streaming radio stations to it over the cell network. There's a radio station about 150 miles away that carries my favorite college team's football, basketball, and baseball games. But I've yet to be able to find anything that will stream this radio station's feed to my Android phone (AT&T) Captivate. When using F-Stream it said this radio station was a WMA stream at 20kbps (its low because its only sports talk radio, no music). I have listed the link to the radio feed below. If anybody knows of an Android app that will currently play it please let me know. Or somebody could be awesome and create an app that'll do it, I'd pay for it and I'm sure tons of other people would to, as the entire iphone community knows about F-stream and loves it, I'm sure the Android community would love it too.

I dont think it does. I downloaded aonline radio and every time I try to enter that URL I get an error message stating that "Entered Channel URL Not Working..."
Did you actually try it out or were you just stating that you think that aonline radio will play that link. Aonline radio playsback MP3/M3U/PLS/AAC/AACP channels,shoutcast/icecast feeds. The link I want to play back is a WMA feed. Not supported.
Thanks.
Can't see if will ever happen as it would run into licensing issues.
Ok. So the media hub is out. Looks like you can rent and/or own movies depending on title. The renting is 2.99. I've found own for 9.99 and 12.99. I'm a little worried about paying DVD prices (or somewhat less for some titles) and not getting the DVD, or getting the ability to transfer to another viewing device, ie. dvd, computer. Anyone know what the lowdown is on transfers, etc? I know I've had a hard time trying to find a movie that I can actually put on this phone via dvd ripping from my own dvd library (if that's even legal) or for download from any legal source online. At least the media hub has that going for it.
Anyone know if there are other avenues to actually use the awesome power of this device to watch movies in my palm? Is Media Hub better than?
Ps. I think it is funny that Forrest Gump is listed as comedy. Nice job classifying that one guys.
it still says coming soon for me :/
*edit* oh nevermind i see, its a system update to get it. XD

Nope, just Vibrant as far as I can tell.
Does it bill to your Sprint bill or is there separate payment information?
probably have to stop by the store so they can take a melon baller to your seat cushion.
I'm not really sure how the payment works. I exchanged my phone today due to the back button issue. Now I haven't received the new update yet.
Media hub payments
Ok. So I broke down and bought the latest star trek. Basically, you enter your credit card information into Media Hub the app stores it there (actually, I think it stores it on Samsung's server). I don't think there are any alternatives. Now, based on the current download rate and percentage, I should be able to watch it sometime next week.
I LOL'ed

3G? 4G? Wifi? On 4G, the previews always played for me instantly. Even the 2 and a half minute trailers.
I watched a few previews over 4g. I have to admit the video quality was excellent and playback smooth. This might be good for an occasional rental, but once netflix comes out for Android they can kiss this goodbye.

download speed and AllShare
Well it looks like there is no AllShare support. Can't push this thing to my TV (actually PS3) for viewing. The movie doesn't show up in the AllShare list. I'm not surprised I guess, just disappointed. My guess is that the movie is not being stored in any meaningful format so AllShare couldn't read it if it wanted to. Of course, there could be a way around or some setting I'm missing. I don't think it's a setting at this point though. Media Hub has no settings anywhere that I can find.
The video quality is pretty awesome, no skips, studders, sloops, woops, or whillips. The sounds wasn't *bad*. It's a decent movie viewing experience - even for a big screen action blockbuster. Would be awesome during a long flight, or similar, without having to drag along extra electronics.
However, combined with there currently being no mini-usb to hdmi cable means no support to watch Media Hub movies on a bigger screen. Looks like I'm back to looking for another solution to watching movies on my phone. 12 bucks isn't really a good investment vs. the actual DVD/Blueray (3 dollars more on Amazon). If I was wealthier, maybe. I think this means I won't be using Media Hub, except for the one movie I already paid for.
About the download speed:
I didn't bother trying to watch it before the download was finished so I don't know if that is possible. I think it was a 1-2 hour download but I didn't keep track, maybe I could have started it sooner. Not to bad I guess (over wifi). I couldn't imagine doing this over 3g...definitely an overnight thing.
Hey guys click the link and enter your email address to sign up for Spotify. They are coming to the USA!
http://www.spotify.com/uk/coming-to-the-us/
Done! Thanks for the tip...
Thank you!
I can really recommend Spotify, I've been using it daily for the past three years here in Sweden. Also it's nice to have your music available on your computer, phone and Transformer.
I can't wait! I currently use Grooveshark which isn't bad but they're not great on reliability; they have some server/dropouts issues.
They also aren't great on customer complaints....
I'm REALLY looking forward to this.
Ghosttown the best music app on android
I already signed up for it. It's free right I'm not sure how Spotify works or anything. I know there is a paid option that allows local storage.
Although I already have Zune (Love it) so I dunno why I'd use this...oh right it'll work on my TF.

Far from it...lol....
If you are looking for accuracy of your chosen music it does a horrible job...it shows the album that the song came from and then it might (not always) play a cover by someone of that same song...it can't differentiate versions of songs...it's no different than putting in youtube "bruce springsteen darkness edge of town" and hopefully getting the right song.
Groove shark is better and Slacker is better. (but you have to put up with a different mix of "similar songs" if you don't want to pay)
I think it's worth 9.00 a month and I'm sure that Spotify will be very good (from what I've seen)
Yeah, I live in the sticks. My Dinc is Wifi Only Since Straighttalk doesn't offer service for the CDMA phone.
Anyway, since I live in a small town Iowa, Wifi is not an option when I'm out jogging. So I want to find an FM Tuner app for it so I can tune in live radio rather than being confined to my MP3's.
So far everything I find either points to a dead file-share link, or is just a re-link to various versions of "FM Radio" in the Play store. That won't start on the Dinc, it just sits there on the "application is starting" screen forever.
My Dinc is running Albino's CM10 port Beta 3. So if anyone can point me to a good tuner which works.
Have you tried Spirit FM?
I have never used it but it's popular.
Sent from my ADR6300 using xda app-developers app
I was going to say spirit also. It comes as spirit light for 2.99 or spirit unlocled for 9.99.
Alrighty, that's one to try (I had run across Spirit FM the christian radio app, but not the FM Tuner one)
if anyone knoes of others, feel free to chime in.
Anyone know of a non-streaming AM radio app? Spirit FM doesn't get the station I want. There are much closer AM stations that broadcast sporting events tho.
