Hi,
any chance to get a workaround for a Xbox or PS3 controller? I would like to play FIFA 12 on TV via HDMI.
Yes, Wii or PS3 should work (only newer samsung phones and HTC devices appear to not support it). Xbox requires a dongle.
You can try this to confirm a wiimote/ps3 remote will work with it.
http://android.ccpcreations.com/wiicontroller/wc-compatibility
PS3: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sixaxiscontroller&feature=more_from_developer
Wii:https://play.google.com/store/apps/...GNyZWF0aW9ucy5hbmRyb2lkLldpaVVzZUFuZHJvaWQiXQ..
Xbox: http://www.androidsim.net/2011/07/how-to-30-connect-xbox360-wireless.html
But only with root? Any chance to get this work without root?

The Xbox requires a dongle but no root. The wiimote method doesn't appear to require root.
Anyone tried this with Splashtop Desktop software?

Anyone knows if there's a way of using pairable controllers (e.g. ps3 and wiimote) on android games?
Specifically I want to try it for Gamelofts games, since I got Backstab HD and Shadow Guardian working, it would be more fun if I were able to use my already paired ps3 controller to use in those games. There's no input method in the settings of those games, but there has to be a way to do it. Any ideas are welcome
I just did a quick Google search and found a couple of apps available to make this happen. One of them was free the other is payed. They were listed for android devices but made no mention of the Nook specifically. Give it a shot and let us know.

I can't say anything about the Gameloft apps, but I have used a Wiimote with Xenonia 2 and some emulators. I did set it up first with Wiimote IME (I think the app is called, I can't double check android market now). That lets you easily pair the wiimote and set it as the input keyboard. Xenonia just worked with it from there. I don't think I've tried any other Android games.

I know they work on emulators, I have used my sixaxis on n64oid and snesoid. I want to use them for games made for touch screens.
bump, any ideas?
It appears this is a known issue with Android 4.2.1, but was curious to know if there is a fix out there anywhere that would allow me to sync my Wii controller up with my Nexus 7... Would love to play some SNES emulated games with my buddy on the "big screen" instead of having to resort to huddling around his phone
Thanks!
Try Bluez IME from play store with the additional HID enabler.

I downloaded the app and instatlled the HID enabler. However, I was still not given the option to select the Wiimote driver after it was detected. Not sure why not.
It did have an option to select number of controllers. So, maybe it will allow for multiplayer gaming. Interested to hear if it works.

I had the same thing...wasn't able to select the Wiimote after detection. I'm so bummed right now it isn't even funny..
For those of you that rooted your Ouya this app is amazing. I downloaded "DroidMote" from the Play Store in hopes of using my phone as a wireless mouse. I only tried this app out for about fifteen minutes but it works flawlessly with the Ouya. It brings up a mouse cursor on the Ouya and the phone acts as a touchpad. You can also use the phone keyboard to type on the Ouya. Root, Playstore and Busybox are required. It does cost $2.50 but definitely worth it in my opinion.
Install the DroidMote Client on your phone: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.videomap.droidmoteclient&hl=en
Install the DroidMote Server on the Ouya: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.videomap.droidmoteserver&hl=en
mmm
I'm not sure if i'm understanding but this app will replace the keyboard is it correct?
Very nice app, phone works as controller on ouya games too!

Just made an account just to thank you dude!!
I've been looking everywhere without luck for an app that could do this, tried a couple none of em worked and if you're starting or quitting XBMC, it can get really annoying to switch from Yatse on the phone to physical controller. XBMC seems to be quicker now with no Ouya controller interfering. I don't think you know how much this made my day!
Looks a lot like spam, bro. LOL
I'm actually using an Rii controller with Flirc and the USB dongle for the air mouse and keyboard. Well, I'm not using it yet since I just got my Ouya in the mail and haven't even installed it yet, but the controller works like wonders (in the Mac and my TV for now).
I've just tried to install the PS4 Remote play app from this other XDA form [http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/ps4-remote-play-t2929147] and it gives me an error saying 'FAILURE [INSTALL_FAILED_OLDER_SDK] is this an issue with the fire tv or the app?

It's because that app requires KitKat, the Fire TV/Stick is only Jelly Bean.
I thought that might be the case, thanks for clearing that up for me.
Just a quick update, i have found that the apk has been updated and it allowed me to install it on my Fire TV [ http://forum.xda-developers.com/andr...play-t2929147] however even when a PS4 controller is paired to the Fire TV, it will not work within the app. I used workaround 2 and it worked like a charm. I hope this helps someone.
So how are people getting past the verification/login screen when they load up the Remote Play app? I've got Firefox instaledl on my TV Stick but when the login forum pops up from the Remote Play app I can't control/type anything in with my remote.

I use dolphin.
Anyone know a way to use the ds4, unrooted, mapped correctly if possible, without workaround 2, because that workaround doesn't work if not local.
this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/mod-ps4-remote-play-native-gamepad-t2975609) someone has been working on an app that supports all native controllers, i testing using an xbox 360 controller and it worked great.
as for logging in, i just got it to load firefox, and then plugged keyboard on, gave a few mins to load and them i could type in my details.

I tested this out and I was able to use the sixaxis controller app and paired my ds4. Everything worked except the touchpad and the PS Home button (PS Home Button is currently configured to take your Android device to its home).
Ive got this working using the 0.73 apk from script kitty.
Working well using the second acccount hwck ( saves me having re sync controller all the time. Plus fire tv is in range of mynps4 foe the bluetooth).
Question is, im missing the little tab on the rempte play app that lets you adjust the settings, so i cant set the video quality to high
Anyideas?
Ihave the apks for 0.6 and 0?70 so i can always try those.

I have installed the latest version of the app at my fire tv but I'm unable to login to my PSN account as there is no browser window opening on my fire tv box where I can enter my account detail...

who is going to be the first to try sideloading on FireTVStick
Mine won't activate. The PC tells me it's good to go, the Fire TV doesn't acknowledge the activation. I'm rooted, IDK if that makes a difference.

Mine activated without issue. Was having a few issues playing videos though....Think I'm 1 pre-rooted firmware behind. I'll update when I get a chance and test then.
If you have Comcast or charter cable then it won't work as they block amazon from being able to use HBOgo
anyone try sideloading on Fire TV stick yet?

Some folks have. And it's menu navigation is laggy but the actual video playback is not bad (That is what has been reported here & @ AFTVNews.com). You will need to go into the Amazon website & purchase the free HBO Go app to get it added to the Amazon Account that you are using on your FireTV Stick. Then you can sideloaded. If not it will tell you, you don't own the app. Easy bypass...

It's not a IP location problem. It is a service subscription option problem. Can not be fix with VPN. There is no option to input your Comcast or Charter credentials.

Sorry to hear, still working fine for me.
I tried uninstall/reinstall...clearing cache...updating...no dice.
Spoke to soon. Stopped working for me on my Fire TV Stick. I now get a "video error: we're having trouble playing this video right now".
Anyone still have it working?
What's strange is that my Fire TV firmware is the same version as when it was working and the app hasn't update, so is this some sort of a server side block?
Is there a newer version than what's in the OP somewhere? I've been using the version in the OP here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-tv/general/hbo-firetv-stick-t2979763
HBO Go still works on my android phone so it's not something network related. Other video apps work fine on my Fire TV Stick.

HBOgo is working on my PC & Roku just not the Fire TV
Looks like there might be an update that fixes the issues.
http://www.aftvnews.com/hbo-go-app-requires-updating/
But, in the picture, it says the new version is 2.7.06, but that's what's in the OP already.
Since I have a fire tv stick and have hbo go sideloaded, I can't get an update through the fire tv stick.
Anyone have a new .apk to try?
No one with a Fire TV (not stick) has received the update yet and can post the .apk?

I just need to add : F'n Comcast!
I can access my HBO Go on PC, Mac, Android phone and tablet. Roku and Apple TV.
Why the hell do you make it impossible to register with Fire TV? What the heck is wrong with you, Comcast? And why does this society allow it? <facepalm>
Welp, HBO Go works great run through XBMC, but won't move past the white screen from the Amazon launcher. Not quite sure why...but it works!
