[Q] New Nexus 7 usb google driver problem

I'm having trouble getting the proper usb drivers loaded so i can root my new Nexus 7. I downloaded the Android SDK, unzipped and expanded the google drivers, but my Vista computer keeps giving me an error like "windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it". It shows the driver as Android Composite ADB Interface. Please help!!
You need to disable your computer's driver signature enforcement.
1)by the way - delete your device from Laptop`s device manager and unplug and plug again cable to you Nexus
2)download last version of ADB and Fastboot
3)check at storage menu - preference - camera (not mtp)
4)enter in developer item in settings menu and check USB debug - Android `ll show your alert message with mac adress of you Laptop - you must accept it
!!! Do not try to use some other sofware for rooting (this is bad idea)- you must doing it in fastboot by myself!!!

Windows 7 wont install or find drivers for N4

Im on Win 7 64 bit. Not sure what else to try. I have a N4.
the device manager show nexus 4 under other devices with a yellow ! icon
cannot update/install driver via browse to drivers in folder i got from google
plain vanilla driver, not an OEM one; http://developer.android.com/tools/extras/oem-usb.html#Drivers
cannot update/install driver via auto install
So i installed the driver via the SDK
http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html (extras > USB Google driver)
Meanwhile it works on my work pc just fine.
tried this, with no luck
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
-Plug your N4 into your PC.
On your N4:
-go to Settings>Developer Options> UNTICK “USB Debugging”
-go to Settings>Storage>Menu>USB computer connection>TICK “MTP” only
On your PC:
-go to Device Manager>Portable Devices>Nexus 4>right-click>Uninstall
-Leave your N4 plugged in, power it OFF, power it back ON, let Windows auto-install the default driver.
MTP USB mode should work after this.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
any advice appreciated ...
thanks
I had trouble installing drivers on win 7 64 bit version too due to it wasn't signed and can't be installed properly. Try this one here. Be sure to uninstall any driver you previous attempt before installing this driver. 64 bit driver
thanks very much ill try that right now.

USB driver update failed

Hi
I am a new user for nexus 6p, For the first time I connected my device to Computer running windows 10 updated. My laptop didn't detect the usb and the driver is not installed properly, I tried downloading the latest usb driver but it didnt help , While searching for the driver folder it throws
Windows was unable to install your unkown drive
You can get the USB drivers straight from Google and try to uninstall/reinstall or download Wugfresh's NRT. There is very good driver installation tool and test to confirm you get both USB and fastboot drivers installed properly. Just follow the "Full Driver Installation Guide"

Hi... Do you have ADB enabled in developer options? If you don't have developer options enabled, go in: settings>about phone and type 7 times on the build number, then go back in settings > developer options and enable "android debugging".
Plug your N6 on your computer, check your phone screen and allow press ok when it asks to "allow USB debugging".
Does it change something? Is your N6 recognized in device manager? Does the driver updates?
...
So My puter recognizes my phone fine....
Pop opened the configuration and General tab says:
This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)
A service installation section in this INF is invalid.
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.
I try and update the driver using the "Let the puter search" feature and it finds one and tells me:
Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device.
Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it.
MPE Device
A service installation section in this INF is invalid.
If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit its website and check the support section for driver software.
This is all AFTER I downloaded the latest Google USB drivers and unzipped them.
Phone is set to MTP mode and debugging mode is unlocked and usb debugging is on.
No Go.

MY OP5 is not recognized by my computer..

MY OP5 is not recognized by my computer..I have tried installing the USB drivers and restarting my computer ..kindly help..im using windows 10
Check this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/help/oneplus-5-recognised-windows-10-t3627051
Selecting file transfer instead of charging only, in the dropdown menu, did it for me. After that reboot was necessary for recognition.
also try install win 10 media feature pack, just install right version like win 10 pro N version 1703 etc, i had this problem and this worked for me
after that select phone drop menu to mtp
all you need to do is go into development mode and go down to networking and find USB configuration.
MTP would let your computer see the phones internal storage.
