[Q] How long will it live - HD2 General

Hi. I want to know how long will my HD2 live if I reinstall roms about 2 times or more a week? My HD2 has a year, but for last 2 months it works under Android overclocked to 1.6GHz. How long will it handle? When to go back to WM to give it die and send it to service? And if my flash memory will die, then will they be able to check my HSPL version in service? Is that in a special memory, or in flash which will die?

My HD2 (EU-Modell) is 3 years old and i´ve flashed it over 1000 times, its working perfectly (but i know i´ve some bad sectors in my nand)
i had it with win-mo 6.1 and 6.5 after that ive flashed custom 6.5 firmwares, then android was ported (on sd card with haret) now use
THIS ROM : [March 15] [Sense 3.5] Energy™ -.¸¸.·´¯ SensationXL/Runnymede build that just works ! inmho its the best
but i think i switch to a 2.3.5 GB Rom WITHOUT Sense because i begin to like the GOlauncher
in short: >3 years are no problem
EDIT: i really wouldnt recommend 1,6ghz !!! my runs at 1196mhz

But performance is much better with extreme OC. I recommend you Dorimanx Rom. Lots of good stuff, and you can use GoLauncher. Thanks for informations And I use SetCPU profiles, so I have 1.6GHz only when screen on.
And how can I check if my HD2 has bad sectors? How to make it visible for PC as storage?

There really is no way to tell. I would say that there is no need to overclock to the extreme that you are. I have a 1.2ghz dual-core phone (stock) and my HD2 running Energy ROM with a OC setting of 768MHz min and 1228MHzmax runs about equally as well.
I've flashed close to or about half of the ROMs found here. There is about 300 ROMs for our HD2 listed there and my phone is still going strong after trying so many.

best wm + android combo package

hi all seen as we cant just run android by its self can i ask please what is the best sense version of android available to date, im looking for a none o/ced version as i dont wanna kill my cpu also what is a good base wm rom to run with it that is issue free when they run back to back, as i get slow screen bootups when unlocking and all sorts of random problems with android at the moment but i have to say i prefer android over wm for now so id really like to run android as main rom on my hd2 or im gona have to sell it and buy a htc android version
thank you
did you even do any research? nothing is going to be handed to you on a silver platter
I have been using this combo with only one issue and thats my accelerometer not working. I've searched (you people go ahead and say I haven't but I have) but to no avail I can't seem to get it to work but other than that everything works fine. Calls, GPS, Syncing, Web Browsing, WiFi everything but accelerometer like I said. Good luck on finding your best combo. I know alot of people like Using Chucky ROM for WinMo and they're choice of Android.

Android - Darkstone HD2Froyo V2.1
Radio 2.12.50.02_2 with newest zimage
Chuckydriodrom for the base and darkstone froyo sense for HTC sense android
But I'd reccomend the latest hyperdriod instead.
Use radio 2.12.50 or 2.10.50
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
sell it and get an android phone.. android is great and i love it on my hd2, but its not anywhere near complete and ready to use out of the box.
but if you want to try
im using this rom, with 2.12.50 radio

im using the N one with overclocking and undervolting, but use the NN one with stock speeds and volts.
you have to write all the ko files to system/lib/modules.. might have to delete a ringtone or two to fit them all in.
i get no screen freezes, no pauses when unlocking and my battery is pretty good.. currently at 7hrs 53min with 63% left..
my usage is medium..
about 100 texts, 5 or so 10+ minute calls and i ran pandora for about 20 minutes.
thank you people i will try these and i might need help with the kernel but ill try it out and then come bk if i do

ok matey i think i have it but let me know before i start, i do this right
- task29 + Radio_2_12_50_02_2
- install wm rom of choice
- copy all .ko files into the android rom i downloaded and replace the one file thats already in folder and then let the rest also jump over to the modules folder
- then copy android rom with these files to SD card and boot it up
is this correct or do i run the android rom first then replace the .ko files
ok im gona guess that copying the ko files all into the modules folder and then booting the android rom for the first time was wrong as cpu was still overclocked so im gona try copying the rom to sd card then, running it to let it configure for first time then go back to wm and copy all the files to that folder... is this correct ??
edit i downloaded this one "This is my pure kernel as usual. No changes." is this correct
heres picture to help me, this is before i copied the ko files
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
and this is after are they all in right place and ok ?
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
EDIT : after all this quadrant still shows max cpu freq as 1190.4mhz WHY
please help me people
HTC HD2 - FROYOSTONE SENSE V2
I'm running the NRG WM / NRG Android combo and end up using android 99% of the time now its so stable! Only issue I have is that everything from Marketplace installs to 'internal memory' (which is on the SD card of course but it doesnt recognise it as such!) so I run out of install space occasionally and have to uninstall stuff!
Goatrip & Hyperdroid v1.2, so far no problems and good battery usage.

if you want to go directly to desire HD builds then that is your prerogative, but don't whine if ever it lags.
You have HSPL with stock rom? May I know the link of the particular winmo rom you used?

The following WM6.5 and Droid Builds work really well for me, just make sure you re-format the sd card on the WM rom and also change the screen time-out to 'never' before booting from the droid folder. The ROM and Build links are below:
WINMO ROM:

DROID BUILD:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=793924
Hope you find it as good as I have, just make sure to HSPL before-hand, this is the Nexus One droid build and i've only had one small problem with hearing people on calls, but that fixed itself after a couple of uses. The build is very stable and reliable and also battery life is good (No outstanding BUILD is the best for battery as it really depends on the RADIO you use) .

Even though your going to be using droid all the time anytime you switch off the device, without a bootload option between WM and DROID you will always need a WM ROM to use as a platform to boot droid.
The ROM i use is a very low-key ROM and dosnt take up that much memory.
Plus the RADIO is what ultimately makes the good data connections and battery power etc so you will need both.
The way I have my build the droid battery drain issue is minimum (in my experience) to other builds, its stable, fast and it works well. Just make sure to install LauncherPro once you boot er up.
Just remember though if you restart your phone for any reason it will go back to the WM ROM on boot-up unless you have a BOOTLOADER installed so you can choose between either.
Hope this helps

HD2 LEO (EU) & Sense 3 ROMS -- (Nand vs SD)

I wonder how you people are managing a Sense 3 ROM on the HD2 LEO (EU)...
I flashed a couple of the available Nand Sense 3 ROMs here and all of them were really heavy, I was totally uncomfortable with my HD2, too slow, many glitches, laggy and sometimes hanging :S so impossible for a daily use although Sense 3 is simply tempting ...
To my surprise, I gave a try to a SD Sense 3 ROM (MccMBoxmaX_GS_V_6.5__3D_carousel_effect) and the results were totally incomparable to the Nand Sense 3 version that I've tried..
The question is I don't prefer to use SD ROMs on my HD2 (having to boot Windows first...); so will SD Sense 3 ROMs technically (with their bulky size) be more reliable and faster than similar Nand ROMs or something must have gone wrong with my previous Nand Sense 3 flashing?
something proably with your setup
i have been using sense 3 fora while now and dont see any slowdowns, they are fast and have no issues apart from the known issues of gra[phics glitches and camcorder not working

- Do u have LEO (512) or TMOUS (1024) ?
- How do u partition / prepare your SD card for a Sense 3 NAND ROM? isn't it 1024MB with 0M Swap through MAGLDR ?
- What about your system partition and cash size ? Do you use HD2 Android Nand Toolkit or similars ?
- Do you use cLK or MAGLDR ?
- Is there a clear tutorial how to flash a Sense 3 Nand rom around ? I have no problem with other Nand (non sense 3) roms... like HyperDroid CM7, HyperDroid-GBX, NexusHD2 Gingerbread... BUT unfortunately each has its own set of bugs that made me drop them...
So far my experience with Sense 3 roms is: slowness, lagging, frequent FC (specially during booting).. how are you guys overcoming or surviving with this?
And also, you dont need winmo to run Android from the sd.
SD Android can be run through Magldr directly
You may wanna give this a try...

Fastest, less bugs, no lagging, no FCs, read the user feedback in thread.

yes it is a eu leo
ive had 1 gb ext partition since inception of it being used
i use clk
there is no difference flashing the a sense 3 rom to another other using CWM
providing you wipe the partion and data before flashing you shouldnt get any FC
to be honest all the information you need to flash is in the rom creators post, if you are unsure of how to partition etc or flash then i suggest reading all the information thats available
i have a question: whats better, flashing from NAND or SD?
and why?

[Q] Best Nand rom for HD2 with sense to you

Hello all
I ve tested some releases on sd card, those drain all my battery, so i ve decided to go a nand rom.
But i need a clean release without any tweak (exept those for hd2) with SENSE.
And really simple to instal (win .exe maybe)?
Which release can you recommend to me?
TIA
(I have an eurpean one)

There are loads of SD Sense ROMs? Just look for pretty much anything by MCCM or BoxMax, you can find Sense 3.0, 2.0, 2.1 and 3.5. I would recommend Sense 2.0 as the best (Froyo), it's almost as fast and stable as the average CM7/MIUI/AOSP ROM.
i would go with Team Blue droid.
phenomenal rom and super fast,
used to be a fan of energy series, but
would occasional hiccups here and there.
Good luck!

Extended overclock

A guy called Dorimanx incorporated an extended overclocking in his hd2 android nand roms.
Later the sd rom booted from sdcard and nativesd came to android.
Never did I see an nativesd rom with extended overclocking, aside from tytungs 1200mhz base rom most rom cookers for hd2 have used.
My hd2 had no problems running at 1633mhz and even booted at that speed succesfully into android.
Contacting Dorimanx himself after moving onto his new smartphone never gave a response.
Cant some developer rip the feature from the old androids kerel and work it up to newer versions?
Pretty please
