Was trying to convert zte blade from gen1 to gen2 to root it.
Followed instructions from sanfranciscoandroid.com
I followed them to the letter.
Downloaddd mand5
Downloaded gen1-gen2.zip
Used mand5 with gen1-gen2.zip
Switched off phone and removed battery for 5 seconds
Rebooted using volume up home button and power button
Green writing came on the screen it did not stay on long enough to read it all
But i did notice ''56% error''
And now it wont switch on

The guide doesn't get you to check the TPT files after you unzipped them, which is the important part. If they got corrupted while unzipping, that's when the damage can occur. Inside the image folder, there is a file called nandroid.md5, If you open that as a text file, it lists all the md5sums for the other files. You need to check that they all match. Try checking if they match or not. If any of them don't, try downloading it again and check again. If they match, try doing the TPT again and see if it works.
If it doesn't work, go to the ZTE Blade section on modaco, and look in the de-bricking thread stickied there. It gives some other things you can try.

I have read the guide on modaco.
It is very useful however...
I cannot get into download mode.
I know that a USB jig can be used on some phones like the galaxy s2 will that work on the zte blade.

Soft brick= phone lights up, but, will not function...
Hard brick= phone will not power up...

Its hard bricked then.
Ive been told that if i take it back ti manufacturer it can be re-flashed.
Is there any way i can do this my self.

Wait. Don't Hurry. What exactly is wrong?
Edit:Try this once.
Download GEN1 to GEN2 TPT v10 from below link.
http://db.tt/HzYxhtzW
Extract "image" folder to your sdcard root directory and boot phone with power, menu and volume+ pressed. Just try once.
Thanks to wbaw for the zip and procedure.

I cant put anything on internal sd i cant get it di anything and even with usb drivers installed windows does not recognise it
The worst part is its not my phone after succesfully rooting 9 samsung phones without any problems whatsoever
Galaxy SII x 3
Galaxy nexus x 2
Galaxy ace x 4
I thought the zte blade would be easy as these are top of the range
Clearly i was wrong
My advice to anyone planning to buy a new phone and root it get a samsung theyre easy to root with odin and if anything goes wrong you can fix it with a usb jig
If you dunno what a usb jig is
Search google
search on youtube "zedomax maje your own usb jig for samsung" to make your own or buy one off ebay for around £2-£3

Rooting a blade is by far the most secure process. You should've followed guides from xda or modaco rather than from some other website. To be frank with you,I haven't ever heard of mand5.

Use a card reader or another phone to read and transfer to to your SD card and try.

try pullin battery. plug phone into computer. hold volume up and volume down. put battery in. prest-o change-o you should see an android w/exclamation point in a triangle. if this fails a jig from skorpion(I believe that is his name) might help, just fyi ur vibe is probably 99% un-brickable.

You are stuck in fastboot mode. Easy to fix...just follow the instructions. Letting your battery die will cause more problems than you want to deal with.

[Q] Nexus 7 won't boot up past the Nexus X logo

Today my Nexus 7 shut off because the battery died. So I plugged it in and left. When I returned it was on the Nexus X logo boot screen.
I now can't do anything. If I try to turn it off by hitting the power button nothing happens.
If I hold the power button for 20 seconds it just reboots back to the X logo.
If I hold the power button and volume up for 20 seconds it just reboots back to the X logo.
If I hold the power button and both volume buttons for 20 seconds it just reboots back to the X logo.
If I hold the power button and volume down for 20 seconds it boots into Bootloader.
From bootloader I have 4 options:
-Start: This just reboots back to the X logo.
-Restart Bootloader: This just refreshes the Bootloader but leaves me where I am.
-Power Off: This is the only way I can even turn my Nexus 7 off. But when I turn it back on it just boots back to the X logo.
-Recovery Mode: This just shows a android with his chest open with a red exclamation mark and it says "No Command". At that point I can only hold power for 20 seconds to get it to reboot to the X logo.
My Nexus 7 is completely stock.
What can I try? Any advice or ideas? TIA.

Well you actually can't paste into a command prompt, so I can't cut and paste.
But it wasn't so much that it was complicated (certainly much easier than the rooting, unlocking, and flashing ROMs and basebands I've done on many devices), it was more so that it seems there should be an official proper way to restore your device like there is with many others.
Anyways I'm downloading the factory image and whatnot now.

Actually no Ctrl-V just gives you "^v", but I just discovered that right-click Paste works. I never use right-click so I never saw that, so turns out you were right after all.
Anyways I was just kidding about the cut and paste, obviously that wasn't what was holding me back from doing it.
Thanks for trying to help suggesting something else, but I've already downloaded the necessary tools for this one, and like I said it wasn't that I wanted another tool it was that I wanted an Official way to do it.

lol, ya windows. Like I just said in another post I just noticed that. I didn't notice before because I never use right-click.
And regardless I would never use it to copy 2 word prompts anyways. More trouble than it's worth.

I have the Nexus 4, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10 and all have been quite good to me, this is my first real issue.
OK, no luck, none of the methods suggested here worked.
The method on theunlokr doesn't just says waiting for device.
The JROMFlasher says no device is detected.
Wugs tool says Fastboot device was not found.
Any other ideas or anything else I can try?

There are a few different drivers for the nexus. Sounds like you don't have the correct drivers. Download the android sdk and install the Google drivers from the
SDK manager. When in fastboot type fastboot devices and it should list your device. If not then its a driver issue. The other two drivers are "USB driver r06 windows" from Asus website and "universal naked driver 072" which I found on Google. One of those should work but the one in sdk should work.

I am very new to this but I might be able to help if you have USB debugging enabled on your nexus 7. I saved mine from a soft brick the other day, very frustrating, but I got it.
I am guessing your boot loader is unlocked and you are running a custom recovery?
Again hopefully USB debugging is enabled.
I recommend mskips nexus toolkit.
1. Remove the back cover of the nexus 7 and disconnect the battery. It's easy. Just follow the wires coming off the battery to the little black plastic connector. Once you locate it, use something small and plastic to push on the edge near where the wires go in. Push toward the power and volume buttons. Let it sit for an hour or so.
2. Very, very ,very ,important!!! Get into your device manager on your PC and uninstall all drivers on the PC that say android, Google or nexus. I mean all of them! Check USB drivers for this also. To many of these cause to many paths for the toolkit and PC to try and follow. Get them all off!
3.after the nexus sits unplugged for at least 1 hour. Reconnect the battery.
4. Get into fast boot mode-power/volume/up/down and plug the nexus into the PC. Let the drivers install. These need to be the only ones on the PC at this time!
5. Open mskips toolkit and check for serial number. Refresh toolkit and or switch USB ports on PC if serial number does not show. It will.
6. On the toolkit try option 5 first. Rename recovery.
7. Then option 6. Reflash custom recovery.( I had to do this three times).
8. Download and flash factory image.
9. Root using the toolkit.
10. Start flashing again.
When the toolkit gave me an error I went back and started over, this happened a few times.
This saved my nexus 7 from being smashed by a sledge hammer and thrown in the garbage. This was very frustrating for me but I got it.
Thanks to mskip

I had the correct drivers according to Wugs, but I removed all of them (and dozens of other old ones from other phones and tablets) and then reinstalled.
Wugs still failed to do a wipe so I used it to unlock my bootloader instead (in hopes of re-trying to do a wipe afterwards) and then it finally booted up.
So it is now fixed. Yay!
Thanks.

Thanks for answering but the phone is completely dead and not responding to any of the suggestions made. I am not sure wheather it is me who is not doing it correctly but am now heading to the outlet where i purchased from, as it is still under warranty. I hope they will assist me without unnecessary complications.
as regards to the suggestions given it appears like they work under certain conditions not all and we need to find out what these conditions are.
Edit. What eventually happened is that I took my phone to lg service centre as it was still on warranty. They changed the board .
Problem was solved through service centre. The board was replaced. My imei is now different
