Previously I was having an issue with the WeatherBug ticker widget not always auto-updating. Sometimes it would and other times it wouldn't. I determined the reason was due to the constant level 2 memory clears I was doing. The memory clears were periodically closing the running service WeatherStatusService (WeatherProvider.apk). The widget will successfully auto-update if this service is left running at all times. Hopefully this helps someone out there.
Ty..I tried the weatherbug app but was not impressed.fancy Widgets or alternatively beautiful Widgets are both better choices IMO.

Yeah it comes pre-installed on all verizon continuums. I never could get it to auto-update, and I couldn't figure out how to keep android from closing it when it got low on memory. Fancy Widgets is such a better alternative, with so many more options. Definitely a fan of it.
Does Fancy Widgets work with the ticker if WeatherBug is not installed?
Nope

I didn't have that problem. I DID however discover the night this leak was released that because it's an odex'ed ROM that most of the fixes and tweaks won't work anyhow. The vanilla lockscreen is vertical instead of horizontal.
Remove htclockscreen.odex also

I'm not running the new ruu tho. I'm running purehero1.1. And I've done this everytime I've changed roms that didnt have it without a problem. and I want the horizontal, r the rotary works also. This kernal doesn't have odex does it?

It's the 2nd and 4th hit on "Samsung Widgets" in the search box above.
Ok, since the time change my weatherbug clock reads one hour forward. My time is set through the network and is correct in the taskbar. Other clocks show the right time. I am running EB01 with the updated file system. In addition to this some of my widgets keep disappearing?? Any ideas?

Yeah, our weatherclock is dumb in how it treats DST, I'll probably get around to fixing it eventually in which it'll be found in my TW Experience thread in Apps & Themes. Regarding widgets disappearing, if you're talking TWLauncher, then perhaps its because you installed a different version of TW. Anytime you change TWLaunchers, any widget that isn't a TW widget goes away.
I have Weatherbug Elite, and it displays the correct time. Running SC 2.9.1 on EB01 kernel and modem.

I just dl'd the three D clock from the market with weather and it's workin so I guess I'll stick with that until I get the guts to try another ROM. Thanks for the replies.

Upgraded to ICS yesterday, so far ok.. nothing amazing. But glad to have it. Is it not possible to make folders by dropping one App on top of another like on the Nexus??
thanks, and sorry if this was asked.. I checked, didn't see.
That's why touchwiz sucks
Your best bet is to get ics launcher like apex

Oddly enough, I just tried Apex... but every widget I try adding, I get a message at the bottom saying "there's no more room on this homepage".. even when theres nothing else there! Any suggestions?
Maybe the widgets are too big for the screen you are not running any dpi change on it right? Also you can't add widgets ala ics way unless you are rooted

Thanks.. did that. That helped get some widgets on the screen, but there's still so many, like the digital clock, or power saving widget, for example that just won't fit on the screen.. can't seem to figure out how to get them to fit!! any other suggestions?? thanks!
Happened to me too when I upgraded my Note to ICS yesterday. I didn't touch any of the TW screens but installed and used Apex immediately. When I tried to add e.g. shortcuts to my XDA favorites it came up with the same error. I then checked with TW and there were the shortcuts, on screen 7 (where was some space). I cleaned up TW, i.e. removed all the widgets, and now it works on both launchers. Very strange indeed...

Yeah it wont for me either. Although the widget would resize once in the 5 column but it still hovers above as if it is default 4...so a launchrr issue if it defaulted to 5 for the note it would be fine.

What is it with all these notifications in the status bar? Its like if any launcher i download, or weather app i install...and i don't want to disable them from the settings, cuz sometimes the app's notification are useful..
Any other way to avoid this..?

Could you be more specific? Are we talking launchers?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Certain apps do put a persistent notification in the shade that doesn't do anything. For me it was TuneIn Radio Pro doing it. Would pop up upon boot and clicking on it just took me to app info where I can force close to uninstall.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
I disable them in Apps info and it doesn't stick with reboot. After reboot, I have to go back into Apps info, tick, and then untick again for them to go away. I'm really hating this bug.

I love this feature. It told me tunein radio pro - which I haven't run for months - was starting up in the background and eating battery.
With 4.3 I know there's no rogue apps hanging around. This should have been added years ago.

The problem is it gives you notifications of running apps even though they are not behaving rogue. Nothing wrong with wanting the feature if one wants it, but when one shuts it off it should stick. I already have an app that warns me of misbehaving apps called Watchdog.

It is helpful feature, but it is buggy as milk is white and 2+2=4.
