U8860 Honor ICS rom for porting. - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

I have the resources to lay my hands on the upcoming ICS 4.0.3 rom for the Honor, the version B978 it is the final beta version before the official launch.
Can anyone work on that rom to port it for the Pro? I don't want to waste resources, it would be pointless to upload it if anyone is going to work on it.
Dev's please confirm me so i can post it.

Come on, not interested in ICS for the Pro's?

Not senseless clearly you are not a developer, this is a stable version without Huawei UI, the only change is going to suffer is that before it's launch as the official one.
By working on this you are going to save TIME which clearly doesn't mean anything to you because you are a user not a provider/developer.
So go troll to another post smartass.

I would love to help. But I have the skills

Ask DZO he is the great developer for u8800
Sent from my U8800pro using XDA

as i know dzo doesnt have pro, only standard u8800 and working with it like we see already released with 3kernel..with pro version devs are rare thing...geno? geno working with miui i think.
Sent from my U8800pro using xda premium

If honor port is stable dzo will take it and make it working...but maybe he is waiting final version....then port is easy from non pro to x5pro!!

moving to general section

I heard porting rom from Honor to 8800pro is easier than porting 8800 to 8800pro...

Dude no need to insult now i see you are bleeding from the wound, i don't disturb developers, i don't sent PM's, just post what i think may be of their interest smartass.
The porting from Honor to Pro is easier because of the chipset resemblance MSM8255 Pro vs. MSM8255T Honor.
The U8800 MSM7230 resemblance to Pro is only cosmetic, even the Wifi and bluetooth chip are different hence the work to make the porting is harder.

Will we make it?

Bin4ry quitted the forums although he wanted to crack the Bootloader but do you think we will make it whitout him? I feel like no but we will see
Sent from my X10i using XDA Premium App
The developers here did enough without opening the bootloader, so my guess is everything is fine here ( most ROMs here are completed with camera fix ) what more do you want?
And quitted is not the word, he just went into another project.. another challenge
I think we should start another thread about whether to start another thread about this topic
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
for 2.2 froyo roms, they are basically completed
for 2.3 gingerbread ones, we just have to wait for the gingerbread update (official) so we can use the kernal and drivers available to make them stable.
I don't think our devices will make it to ice cream though..

Anyways, I feel if one of the other devs ask him for help he will....so I don't think he will be gone completely

Uuh ice cream :9
I think Z,J and all great devs are able to port it... when it's released ^^
Sent from my X10 using XDA Premium App
Mj what you said is true most roms are complete but there is still more things we can do for example 16 millions color thingy and the device is locked to 32 fps and i'd love to overclock my device and for some people facing the low in call volume issue a fix and all these would be done by unlocking the Bootloader.
Sent from my X10i using XDA Premium App
i heard if someone updates to the new and official 2.3 it wil make it even harder to crack the bootloader me personaly i wont update to 2.3 beacause i can use other better roms such as cm7 and arc rom

That's the first I've heard of anything bootloader related to SE's 2.3.3. It might be possible to infer that but otherwise nothing is publicly known. *Maybe* rooting it might be more difficult.
2.3 kernel + CM7 mod >> 2.1 kernel + CM7 Mod
Just IMO (might be different but we won't know until July)
I think we should aware something:
1)Bin4ry doesn't crack the bootloader cause the cracking is...hell
What Tue devs do is to crash the normal booting procredures in order to run our custom kernel(the kexec method)
2)I still blieve that we can soon run custom kernel for daily use
Z is trying his best to do that,he had got the radio, overclockint etc, this will be released once the kernel is ready.
The leaving of Bin4ry is a kind of lost, but it doesn't mean it wont be possible to develop the custom kernel
Cheers,
L

Bin4ry is a beast, but don't forget about the other devs!! And Bin4ry says hes gonna stay if we donate $200 to him.
Lol hes gonna get more then that if he actually manage out that custom kernel! And this is sad he wants money for his work like most devs but if he really asked it like this "pay me 200$ and i will stay" its eww!

erm....that is not the case at all.....Andreas (Bin4ry) is actually saying that he does not feel comfortable with the OP of the thread requesting that money is collected for him. Bin4ry did NOT request the $200 at all.....

just want to make that clear.
Yea I realized that I made him look bad, but Bin4ry actually feels uncomfortable with the situation
My bad I worded that badly
It have been cracked by z!!!!!!! Omfg no kidding i saw a comment in the cm7 rom thread where it said z have made it + there was link of the thread omg!!!!

Users yeah maybe, developers - doubt it We have stable 2.3 rom long time ago and there is nothing to be needed major improvements. We have MIUI, CM7 and few other roms. Maybe this just makes CM7 devs to make official CM7 for X5.
And no i don't think that i'm pessimistic Also i think it will be PRO version and most of us have non pro so we don't care about PRO version kernels

MIUI is open since long time. The big problem is that MIUI is only supporting devices with big screen (WVGA and higher).

Yeah.. I know.. That's why I bought the Desire.. But with open source someone Whit proper skill should be able to change this.. Open for a long time? This news was taken straight from MIUIs facebook page.. So I'm guessing now ALL if the MIUI source has been open.. Before all the base files were closed source..

Try editing the lcd resolution line in the kernel
As far as I know MIUI doesn't make any changes to the kernel.
I didn't look it up yet...

MIUI Port for Legend

I'm going to port MIUI4 to our Legend.
Expect it soon.

It will also be my first ROM attempt.

But why ICS? Is it not possible for the more stable, Gingerbread version?
I have an LG P500 as well, about the same (or worse specs as Legend), and the ICS MIUI has been taken (theoretically) to the development limit. There are some barely fixable bugs and we need a miracle (on the scale of WiFi + NewSense on Legend) to fix 'em.

Isn't CM 7.1 already a stable Gingerbread rom out there already? How can you make it more stable?
What I mean is, why opt for developing MIUI ICS when the Gingerbread version can evidently be easier to work with and use?
I said "the" more, not "a" more. Sorry.

So you want someone to dev it for you? Do you honestly believe that tonnes of people haven't tried already? But of course, someone will do it if you request it Also, off topic, that rolleyes emoticon is crap, doesn't look sarcastic as much as it does worried. Just to clarify, in this case it is indeed meant to show exasperation.

when noone compiles an new kernel we can forget sense 4. we are useing an old kernel most things are backported from newer kernels. And without sourcecode its even harder.
