CM9 Reloaded video player - Kindle Fire General

I would post this in its dev forum, but they won't let me!
Anyways I have been using rock player with software decoding to play vids reasonably despite the lack of hwa. Is there another player that can be recommended for roms lacking hwa?

MX Player
Try MX Player free from the Play Store, it does both HW or Software decoding very well. It handles a pretty good amount of formats and has an additional codec pack you can install if needed. If you do d/l the additional codec pack, make sure it's the ARMv7.

That would I also like to know.
Edit: Mostly for the .sub files. I have tried Mobo, Rock, QQ, and Vitalplayer and none of them supports .sub files as far as I can see.
I use rockplayer for my series n movies, srt files are working well.
Yes +1 for the mobo player.
I use dvd Fab for all my movies,it also gives you the option to hard encode subtitles in the movie file.
Sent from my A500 using XDA Premium App
I can confirm Moboplayer supports SRT subtitles. As best I can tell, it looks at your video's filename, and then looks for the same filename except ending in .SRT. ALL CAPS file extention was the only way I could get it to work. Good luck!

Try Mx player from market. It has an option to play in full screen and also to employ hardware acceleration /software acceleration.

mx video player. Avi file with srt greek subs. works perfect.
another person for mx player
I've tried about every player available -- BSPlyer Lite, VPlayer, MoboPlayer. MX Player is all around the best - the only player that streams avi movies from SMB share (used with FS File Explorer). I also like MoboPlayer.
I believe the best player for Tegra 2 is DicePlayer - paid ARM 7. It sucks that the paid version is not available and who knows, may never be available from Android Market. VLC is still in beta - looking forward to that one!
Does anyone know what's going on with Dice? Seems like they pissed someone at Google off...
+1 to MX Player, plays everything I have thrown at it, if not in H/W then in S/W mode. Loads subs, dims buttons and resumes play even from LAN.

Video Player that can play .wmv

Hi,
In my phone i have MX Player, Real Player, Zimly, Mobo Player and Easy Video player. But any one of the above are able to play >wmv video files?
Can some one suggest me a video player that can play .wmv files smoothly.
Thanks in Advance.
our p500 cant play some video files smooth..because we have low h/w acceleration..
Smoothly....idk but I believe mx video player has support and its free on the market....download the video player and the armv6-vfp codecs
Sent from my LG-P500 using Tapatalk 2
Yes I can confirm that. I played a 720p wmv file with MX player weeks ago (but of coz it's not smooth on my ICS rom)
I already tried that. MX player plays only audio, it doesn't shows video for .wmv files.

Did you try software decoding(SW) mode?(on the upper right corner while playing).
Otherwise video probably has big resolution and you need to convert it.(480x320)
I tried to play through software decoding but it say "this video can't play using software decoding".
And the video resolution I am trying to play is 640x480. Is this resolution is compatible with our optimus one?

Yep.,640*480 videos are playable on p500.
But if you are on ics rom then it is lagging. Try to play on any GB rom, it's playing smoothly.

Rockplayer shows most of the archive formats, but don't play some of them smoothly.

^+1
I recommend MX player with ARMv6 VFP codec.. you will find both in play store!!
Dude, practically it is impossible to play any hd video on ics on our device.
So don't confused on video players choice.
The main problem in ROM;not in lg p500.

Devs have already tried a lot to hack omx and got partial success, that's why we are able to play videos on ICS!
If in future there would be any full hack, we'll get to know

The mx player is perfect for lg p500,other option for u might be moboplayer both with arm6 codec.
I've been using mx player for the last year and there has NEVER been a bug or problem and plays every format.

Yeah. Dice isn't as good for me personally as MX is, but all the ones you listed are good. OP, give some of these a shot and see
try this
try this, there is a free version to try,but its well worth buying the paid version,it will convert any dvd/video to basically anything,I use it to convert for my samsung galaxy nexus and Tab2,here u go,,,Latest I did was a Act of Valor in blueray and man its awesome on my tab2 and my nexus

If you want a conversion tool for you movies the best i have seen so far and free is format factory

Agree. Probably not a standard video format. We have powerfull video decoder: "Despite similar claims as far as video encode and decode goes, OMAP makes things a little easier on users. Tegra 2 supports hardware decoding of H.264 video, but only with the right encoding. The commonly used high profile for H.264 will sometimes fail to play on Tegra. TI uses a component called IVA3 which decodes a wider variety of codecs." Source: http://www.extremetech.com/computin...s-ti-omap-4-or-why-the-droid-bionic-uses-omap

As i know yes but not all formats of videos and if you are in custom rom so your phone can not connect to kies and as i know it convert them while transfere so as i know you should connect your tab while converting
Best solution for me is format factory free, nearly all formats including documents works flawless a must have

Both stock and MX player powered by TI OMAP programmable IVA3 multi format media accelerator (/system/vendor/firmware/ducati-m3.bin is the brain of IVA3). Very satisfied with media capability of Tab 2. SCH-i705 users will have a different story about MX player.

[Q] MX player custom codec to play DTS on N10?

Anyone happen to have a custom codec that is able to be loaded into the latest MX player so it will play DTS audio? Reason I ask about this is because MX player works the best... BS player the audio becomes out of sync from the video if I pause and restart/resume video. BS player for some reason won't allow me to FF either. VLC beta is very nice but it is just a beta and also has some really crappy bugs. If I FF the video or pause/restart the audio becomes out of sync with the video. VLC lets me FF but that also causes the audio to become out of sync.
So alas, the best (current) way to play videos is MX player. Everything works perfectly BUT the DTS audio. Does anyone have or know of a custom FFmpeg codec that works with the Nexus 10? Thank you!

Codec is out there just Google it on xda. I've tried it, same crap results as using custom codec with dice player....great we have DTS, but video becomes laggy and choppy so pointless....
EDIT: got the link for you http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1896293
EDIT: actually after a bit of fiddling got h/w video to play with s/w audio, works really nice now.

Nah it does work just takes some fiddling. Enable h/w video only in preferences > decoder. Disable s/w and h/w+ video decoding. Select custom codec. Then when you play video click music icon in top right and uncheck use "H/W audio decoding" and done.

I assume this is the arm7 neon off the play store?
Where does it download to, when I try selecting custom codec it gives me a filepicker, but I can't figure out where in the directory structure it might be?

Alright.
Was thrown off by that being from a different device forum and that there was a NEON codec available in the play store.
