Hi guys!
I'm trying to use Amazon Kindle but it just keep FC . This has happened to me in every quarx or eppys builds with ICS (I've tried almost all of them)
I have tried with cache wipes, data wipes, but no good.
In Quarx builds, I can open the app, login and even see my books, but when I try to load anyone the app FC without any message.
In Eppys builds, I can't even login or see anything of the app before it brings me back to the launcher
Could this be related to the uncomplete HWA? Is anybody else having this same problem?
Thanks!
The same problem here. Kindle is quite important to me, daily use.
Same issue here. I think it's the lack of HWA. It's the same behavior that happens on Opera Mobile and Chrome. Since Kindle is one of my most used apps, I had to switch back to CM7.2
I wish had an old Kindle apk to test it.
Edit:
Btw, I installed ICS on my gf's Galaxy Tab and Kindle (and Chrome) worked perfectly. GT ROM has HWA fully working.

You made my day. I don't know how I didn't try this before.
I found a working version (at least with 30-03 quarx for defy+). I'm so happy!
Here's the link to download the apk: www . 1mobile . com/kindle-13239.html (just erase the spaces)
-------
In Epsylon3 11-04 for defy+, it's not working.
Great . That version didn't work for me but 3.2.0.35 does (Epsylon's build for froyo kernel, nightly 13.04.)

I also installed it on my DHD
Sometimes it crashes my browser, also it wont report that 10.2 is installed when I check adobe's support site it says that I have 10.1.92 installed.
Tried reboots, reinstalling it etc...
I got that too, the comments in the Market show the same. Most users are fine though.
I got a Froyo Sense rom running, & 480p in youtube is running perfectly in Miren browser. Before it used to jerk every 10-15 seconds.
ive uninstalled the latest flash back to 10.1 but now flash pages dont load
Try uninstalling again, reboot, and install from the .apk again.

I also have some issues with flashplayer.. even with 10.1. When i watch a video in the browser (480p) it works fine for the first time (no lags, cpu is at about 80% @1ghz), but when i restart my browser it starts to lag like hell... even on 1.8ghz and only 360p(dunno the exact pixels)
Any sollution for that?
Edit: tried revo hd 3.2, leedroid 2.2 and core droid 3.2. Did a fullwipe every time and always the same result. Also tried some kernels i had before. I knoe that it worked some days/weeks ago.
I've no clue what's going on here.

It works fine for me, but I am on a custom version of CM9, not energy.
Well damn. Still can't get it to work today. Guess I'll just have to stick to the real paper issue lol. Thanks though.
Hi there,
I tried to install Firefox, after flashing ICS to my Tab. But I get an error "incompatible with your device" error.
Can somebody explain why this is happening.
Firefox was running on my 7.7 HC and it should run with ICS....?
thanks

Heh "should" is a word fraught with peril. But, yeah, it doesn't seem compatible at the moment. I don't know if editing the build.prop would be a workaround or not, however. Have you checked their mobile support site?
Anyway, I just downloaded the nightly build and it installs and seems to run fine on my ICS 7.7.
Thanks burhanistan for pointing me to the nightlies. Did know they also exist for Android.
Indeed the Nightly is running smooth
Yes you can use the nightlies, They did put out a stable ver of firefox but its only for phones right now they said they are working on a tablet verison.
Search for Aurora. That's the Firefox nightly. Quick ICS Browser is so much better IMHO.

Installed ics 4.0.3 everything works great and love it! But youtube doesn't work. I know its expected behavior, but was wondering if there is a work around or I missed something. Additionally, chrome is not loading page under kindle fire. While it opens fine but nothing is showing up.

What ROM are you using? YouTube should work with most of the ICS/CM9 Roms.
I am using the rom/CM9 from this link - is it too old? Where I can find the most stable version?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1411895
I didn't have the Google Apps package installed, I downloaded the youtube app from the play store, is this the root cause?

Try updating to one of the newer roms (gedeROM, SGT7 rom, or Glazed)

Veeman is right, I can confirm it works with the roms he mentioned.

downloaded gedeROM, reflashed the device, worked like a charm. Both youtube and chrome problems are fixed. I guess it's just a rom problem.
Thanks all
Hello guys,
I have seen many people request tablet UI on the kitkat rom pages (sgt7 and fuzz). Here is a guide top do so, so that you do not big the devs who are constantly working
THIS DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE
Step 1) Have xposed framework installed.
Step 2) Go to the downloads and scroll down till you see tablet ui.
Step 3) Download and install
Step 4) Reboot and enjoy!!!
If this worked for you, press the thanks button!!
Here are screenshots
Here is where I found it
OK, so I installed the framework (it wouldn't run correctly until I disabled "respect CM settings for root" in SuperSU settings, FYI), and downloaded the module as well as tick the box to enable it. Everything is installed and running, yet I have no tabletUI. :/
My guess is that I have to use a certain launcher, or that said launcher must have default settings? I'm using Nova Launcher and wonder if that's why it isn't working. What launcher are you using, OP?
I'm using trebuchet but the launcher does not matter. It's a part of the system ui.
I'm actually on Fuzz's cm 11 and I do have plans to change to sgt7. I tested it and found it to be quite smooth.

So there's a decent chance this doesn't work on the rom that came from the thread where you linked to this.
If anyone manages to get it working on sgt7, post here!
Now according to every thread with tablet ui mods and questions, Google has officially removed tablet support from 4.4. So how you got this to work is blowing my mind.

It works (from what androvista says) on the Fuzz rom for kindle fire, but not the sgt7 by twaprv.

ive tried this on Hash's CM11 for KFHD, doesnt work, found out Android took out the Source code for TabletUI and and wont be implementing it in future updates. PA wont be including it in their ROM's also. unless someones willing to rewrite the code into kitkat, it wont be possible(yet).
It shouldn't work on CM11 BC the System UI Framework is different than CM10.2. This uses CM10.2 Framework. Do not use unless below CM10.2

Perhaps you could make a backup (after you wiped everything personal) and send it to the devs so they could try adding it to the roms.

You have blue clock and icons - indicates non-KitKat version of Android.
That's why everybody else failed.
This is possible on Android versions 4.3 and lower.
Nope, that's a part of the module. I'm running KitKat

That's exactly what I wish for. Only on a Nook HD+. But if there's no user interface in the Tablet UI module, you can't swap the Nav and Status section left to right. True?
It really doesn't matter. I can't get it to work anyway. :crying:
