Some of you might know me already (if not, time to google Evolution for Opal , just wanted to say "Hi" to the not-so cruel people here at the XDA forums, especially here at Touch Viva section
So, how is everyone's Touch Viva doing? I wanted to do some more ROM works and share with ya'll but you know, WM went dead long ago, so couldn't really do anything creative with a new ROM. I thought that i would head over to Android or get a Windows Phone and continue my 'Chefing'. But unfortunately am still stuck with this Opal.
So, to put in one simple line this whole thread's aim - What's up everyone?

That's nice to hear. And yes, Wing Linux Project is dead. Anyway, our Processor is so weak, that it runs even Android Donut so slow.

Wow, that's so fantastic to hear! So, i see you have got a HTC Desire HD, congratz!
Am looking forward to save some money and get a new smartphone (probably a Windows Phone) and then play with it (modding )

I have this habit of starting everything from scratch when i want to make a new ROM. So, i have cleared out the kitchen of my Evolution series ROMs. And as MS officially made WM dead, i didn't try to make a new ROM since, it's been more than a year now i think.

Hi guys! For those who know me as the forum moderator over here, I am the former "SHR" who released those WM6.1 lite versions! How's all? I just wished there was a good rom with the start button still on top! Good to see Jagan back although he left when we actually needed a back bone for our device! And then pajerm! All the nice guys are here! I still use the Opal. On the stock WM 6.1 for now. Haven't really tried any rom for now!

I'm sure most of us would love to see this implemented on the HD2. I thought I could do it myself, but I've tried and failed. Below are two links. One for the full rom and the other is a link to the system.ext2 image I made from the /system folder of the ROM. I've tried a couple of different kernel combinations and still can't get it to boot (replaced the system.ext2 in shubcraft with the one I made and it just reboots). I don't yet know enough about android on the hd2 to get this working myself. So I figured I'd start a thread and see where we can get.

Seems like the hd2 has quite the community following. I'm looking forward to working with you guys
UPDATE: 9-24-2010 : We do have a working test build that is being given out to a few folks. No ETA on a alpha or beta release. Hopefully this weekend. I'm tonight and tomorrow so I'll squeeze in some android time when I can. SARCASTILLO (guy who made hyperdroid) gets the credit for getting this thing booting. Nice to hear that ! We always lack people like you, however the few Hd2 build developers have magic hands.
Maybe you already know that, but I suggest you to contact them directly for this great project because Hd2 is a very popular phone, so this forum is 99.9% populated by end-users. At the begining kernel developers tried to work into xda forums, but deserted for the Htc-linux Irc because of noise.
This would be so awesome!!!! DEVS, plz plz plz look at this !!

It looks nothing like the iOs nor IphoneOS nor firmware 4.0. Some people are here just to make a crowd. Anyway, to the OP, this is great. try to contact DarkSt0ne, Mattc, Dan1j3l. they could help. or, on twitter, contact the htc_linux guys. Hope you can make it and if you base it on the new Desire HD Rom, and include some other languages like japanese, your rom will be one of the greatest. Thank you and good luck

I've been able to create a booting system...
but I don't have a signal... must be the libs or something...
wifi works and the ui is iOs-ish
some of the pop-ups and menus are in chinese so I'm not sure what I'm doing sometimes...
will post something as soon as I get the signal working. and camera... and etc....

not sure it'll be anytime soon.. just tried making it boot to play with....
looks like its an odexed system (will try to deodex) and using a heavily tweaked launcher ui... pretty sweet... includes google pinyin support OOTB (of course)

Isn't posting it in the general section biased too? I'm not sure if that many Android users still go there. I know I don't (never been a WinMo user though, so I don't have the old habit of going there).
It's probably best to take the averages of the results here and in HD2 general.

I have to say I was passionate about Windows and Touch Flo on the HD2.
But the great builds from the folks at XDA Devs coupled with the cool and cheap / free apps on the Android market convinced me to make the jump.
Desire HD is not Touch Flo, but it is close.
I never used a winmo on my hd2 directly after the buy i use android
Thanks to all developers, I'm proud to be an Android HD2 owner Also, I need to thank custom WinMo developers because without them running a stable Android build is very problematic and difficult. MERRY CHRISTAMS & HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Btw i just got HD2 today, it's awesome phone. I'm running mostly android on it since i have only 4GB card. When i get 8GB one i will try ubuntu and anything else that is availble here.

Not possible....yet. But, team from XDA.CN are working on Android ROM currently for HTC HD7. I think that if they make it for HD7, it could be done for all wp7s out there...

Why don't you just sell you WP7 phone and get yourself a new Android device ? The market price on a Trophy is as high as it's going to be, so you'll get the most for it now.
Also you don't not have to worry about Hacking Android to get it on the phone, that sometimes might not offer the best performace or hardware not working correctly.

Why would anyone want to do this? And even more important why would anyone want to build a ROM? Screw Android. I'd rather someone make a Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM for the Trophy instead of this crap.

our phone gets older and older and i think we all sense lovers wants to do our hd2 a last pleasure. a good thing for the phone so we could use this phone just another year couse we all dont have money to buy a new one like sensation

I don't think this is necessary; you'll have to be patient.
It's always like that when a new major Android or Sense version comes out, things get very messy with everyone trying things out. With time, things get clearer, devs and good ROMS start to pop out.
Come back in two weeks or a month and I'm sure that 3.0 wil be almost ready for us.

With everyone working to get to fix bugs, glitches, mms, color banding, resolution fixes and graphics it will be better. And this devs, chefs, kernel devs are the best here.

i read that they are wating for a driver from htc to be released so the devs can do what they do but its going to be awhile so like most of us we just wait and not ask for any ETAs and asking to fix things cause they are wqorking on it already

i think maybe. As we can see, rightnow, with sense 3.5 tweak, HD2 work fine. And i think sense 4.0 is work as well. But the thing is we need time to make it work fast and perfect Just wait, maybe next month.

I believe it is not about buying a new phone but about developing something so it works on our phone, keeping our beloved HD2 alive. Anyways this is a Development forum, so please be nice to each other

Nonsense, plus he was talking about One V. I think HD2 is the longest lasting phone ever by seeing its development.

I already stated this just a few posts above, but please don't unnecessarily reopen old threads, even if you're trying to get 10 posts. Try wherever possible to use your knowledge to help people with problems they have right now, rather than ones solved months ago
Install "Go Launcher EX".
Go and search "HTC Sense 4" in market (Play Store).
Enjoy.
It's not sure yet. DEVs are working on this. Hope they will pass some basic hurdle. But yes it's booting you can find ICS sense 4 in DEV section. It's not for daily use but you can flash it and see how it looks.

As Kam said, reading and searching would easily have given you the answer. Just follow the guide in my sig to flash NAND Android, it's very simple.
You've got still Sense 3.5 on EnergyROM by NRGZ28
