Can someone please assist me and provide the stock recovery image for the recently released Galaxy Tab 10.1 with LTE on Verizon? I tried to flash CWM 4.0.0.4 to the device via ODIN3 (didn't do a backup first) and it messed up the recovery image. The tab can boot fine and I can get into "Download Mode" but when trying to get into recovery mode I just get a blank screen.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Welcome to the club, I have been working on the same problem. I think it has to do with fastboot.
I am rooted on LTE Tab, works great except no recovery.
Well, glad to know I am not the only one. How did you verify that you got "root"? I was under the impression that the ODIN3 application would do everything all in one go, but even now upon launching anything that says it requires SU privs I get an error saying I don't have them. Perhaps I am missing something.
I flashed Pershoot's tools dated 5-15 using the stock recovery, that got me root, then I used Odin to flash the CWM recovery file and I lost all ability to go into recovery. I am rooted and can powerdown and restart tab.
once getting the root install rom manager from market and install clockworkmod recovery from it. that's the best way so far.

Wasn't there was issues with installing CWM from Rom Manager on the US wifi version; I do not recall exactly what those problems were, but I recall reading that it was better to use odin.
The Verizon tablet is a different tablet; afaik it's similar to the captivate / fascinate / vibrant deal, very similar; but different enough to cause issues.
I tried to install CWM with Odin and with ROM manager and neither method worked. I couldnt get the fastboot menu on the verizon tablet before or after root.
would the NVFlash method work?
This is how I got CWM on my wifi unlocked. My understanding is this only works for un-locked tabs; and the verizon one I have here seems to be locked.
Verizon tab appears to be locked, get 04 error using nvflash.
Kicking this one back to the top....
I also rooted and then loaded Rom Manager only to find out that it kills all recovery options on the LTE version.
SOMEONE has to have a new untouched Verizon 4G SGT!
I can't help you with your problem, but i have a question. How can i pull a recovery image? I just ordered a European GT10.1 3G and would like to backup the recovery.img as it seems it's not available online.
I understand that you need to be rooted to get the image? But it's not possible to root without loading a custom recovery?
Same issue... grrr anyone not touched theirs yet?

There is a fix for the recovery on XDA, I have CWM recovery working on my LTE Tab, or do still want the stock recovery?
Same Issue...
I tried the update and recovery is gone. Really need the ODIN image to try and fix this. Was anyone else with this problem running Encryption at the time?
I don't know if I can help, but my Verizon 4G Tab is stock for the most part. I only rooted it. Haven't flashed anything. All I did was put the Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_10.1_root.zip in my sdcard directory, and powered off, powered on while pushing the volume up button, and rooted. So as far as I know, I'm only rooted.
Recovery Image
Hi All,
I was trying to use titanium backup to remove the installed flash from my tablet, unfortunately this operation appears to have affected the bootloader. I get an a failed assertion getprop("ro.bootloader") == "P7100BUKB7". Using odin I was able to put back 3.0 version of honey comb but I can't update the the 3.1 version b/c I get this error.
My guess is that I need to use odin to replace the bootloader. Any ideas on where I might get this. This s the galaxy tab 10.1 wifi only.
Thanks for any help anyone can offer.
Any word on how to get back to bone stock non rooted factory status? I currently have a rooted SCH-I905UKAVZW 10.1 4G LTE with stock recovery. I would like to completely remove root. Does anyone know how to do that?
I've been hoping for a one click odin like on my Captivate. I can't tell you how many times that one click saved me. It's really helpful if you want to mess around without too much worry.
I have run the pda tool within odin.
I have unchecked the usb debugging
I have powered up again to see the (Download droid Icon and the Recovery Icon)
When I select(recovery) the screen with the tab plugged in is still powered on but blank
When I select (recovery) the screen with the tab unplugged goes dark and does not enter recovery to select the root file that was copied onto the (sd card) yes there is not one there but I guess the internal memory has a partition of sorts to be recognized as an sd?
Any help with this??
Also, just for more information...
When you root the 10.1 do you get access to the 4g data network or 3g if 4g is not in our area without "paying" for it?
need help
same problem here after flashing.. my verizon 10.1 4g lte has lost the recovery screen...
Hello all, when I try to use the SD update I get the upright Android with the green bar below & within a few seconds I get the dead Android with a red exclamation mark above his chest. Does this indicate a hardware fault or should I keep trying different update files? Thank you, hoz

If you have the correct update.zip you should be fine.
If you're trying to fix a brick you may need to use nvflash.

If the rom you had on there was a Stock rom you OTA'ed, then afterOTA tool is the tool to use to Update the bootloader....you are soft-bricked so none of the tools are much use to you.
Which link in the CPUID guide does not work pls, I shall fix that. Try the one in the root guide in my sig.
If you are not currently flashed to skrilax_cz unlocked bootlader, fastboot will not work.
You're really best to start at the beginning in trying to unbrick.
This means downloading everything you need BEFORE you start.
That means:
Acers website for the acer drivers.
The root guide for the adb/fastboot drivers.
A rom to flash ICS, JB or stock rooted ICS.
The babsector.rar file to unbrick you.
You need to know how to get your tab in apx mode manually.
You also need to run the flash manually. Use the babsector file for that and post any errors you get.
Read thru the root guide in my sig, and make sure you have some understanding of what you're about to do. It makes it a lot easier to have all your files downloaded. The actual flashing process takes about 5 mins.
The babsector file will reset your tabs partitions, flash a recovery so you can do the formats and wipes before flashing your rom. Also installs the v8 unlocked bootloader.

The link under DRIVERS: Acer Support for Acer APX/Fastboot/Recovery Drivers. Just loads a Acer error page. I get the same error page when using the link in [GUIDE][ICS] Beginners Guide - Rooting, Flashing, Unbricking.
I downloaded the OTA tool to get my CUPID, tried blackthund3r A500 manager but I need BUSYBOX installed. What would be the easiest way to get my CUPID?
About 3 months ago I bought a manufacturer refurbished motherboard from the States (I'm in Australia) had my local PC shop install it, been working great. The other night it froze & I turned it off & then back on & its won't boot past the acer screen. It's stock, I haven't modified it in any way.
i have iconia a200 got brick
I think I'm having issue with the adb and fast boot drivers..not sure it they are installed. My tab only boots into apx mode. It will launch to bootloader mode while trying any of the tools. .but hands mid way. Doesn't seem the tools see it correctly because no atx devices are detected. The acer picassa driver goes I'm because I see the tab pop up. .but not sure the other drivers are right. So I'm stuck.

My rooted Nexus 7 recieved it's OTA to KitKat and after installation it's been stuck on KitKat logo boot just like many others out there. After trying to reset it and even trying to download kitkat image and use ADB I still can't get to install. I belive that CWM version 6.0.1.9) is the culprit. After sending the update file to it all I get is message that it can't find file.
Any help is appreciated. I can add that I am quite good with ADB and command line I just can't get it to find the file. If anybody can point me to a solution thread thank you in advance I don't mind reading and learning.
Regards
Mine failed also. It is soft bricked and it boots to the android on its back with 'no command' below. I can boot to boot loader, but not recovery. So far my attempts to use fastboot to flash stock have failed. I bought a replacement warranty with my Nuxus 7 and I may just give up and have it replaced under warranty. This nexus was not rooted or altered in any way...it was fully stock and the OTA failed.

I don't have extended warranty so...I still need a way to push a zip over to it and use CWM to install an OS to it.
EDIT: I seem to have a pritty good idea as to why I can't install OS. It appears that I don't have Nexus 7 MTP driver installed on my win7 machine. Any idea as to how to get that on without having a wirking Nexus 7 to plug it in and have win7 do it automagically ?
Problem solved. Mod can lock the thread.
So super sorry for this one, but 9 hours of trying has left me no choice but to beg for help and I am running out of time to search for the solution.
Ok, I have softbricked my s5360B, foolishly I didn't make a rom and/or kernel backup before I tried messing around with my phone, I was trying to simply network unlock my device, I return back to the UK from Brasil on Saturday and I need an operational phone so I can get home.
I settled on using JellyBlast rom for my installation but after running into installation errors like (status 7) and later on a (status 0) I got frustrated and tried installing any of the .zip files (JVBota1signed.zip and filetypes similar to). And I think I messed up badly - the phone when booting has the original 'samsung galaxy y s5360b' screen but does not move past it, at one point it flicked back an to from this splash screen and Vivo (brasil network carrier) but now it does not. I still can boot into CWM recovery (v6.0.4.9) which is a good sign I think.
As a mac user I am a little adversed to using Odin - Windows 7 via Parallels recognizes the phone and begins installation of stuff, but hangs up at 'setup connection', so I think I need a solution that I can use just the SD card for. I need a fix as quick as possible - I have only 2 days left here and during that time I have to say my forever goodbyes to my love.
Bottom line - I need my phone operational ASAP - I don't care about what version of rom or kernel it is running (be it factory stock or custom), just so long as I can be network/carrier unlocked. If you have a viable solution for me can you please post links to downloads for the files I need? And if there is any more complexity than 'install this then this' then I may struggle. What do I do?
Really appreciate the efforts of the community, thanks guys!

The rom you mentioned is a banned rom
You have 2 options
Option 1
If you can get into recovery mode (Vol up home button power button)
Download any stock based custom rom
Go into cwm
Format system data cache
Mount system data cache
Flash rom zip
Assuming that you are using a stock based kernel it will boot
Option 2
Flash stock rom via odin
See my firmware thread link in my signature
Note you can use standard 5360 firmware instead of the b variant which may be better
Posting to say I didn't get the phone to work still, but I got home without too much trouble. needless to say this thread is no longer an emergency.
I want to express my gratitude to you guys for helping me out, thank you so very much.
Unfortunately as I say the phone does still not work -
With multiple attempts using ODIN I keep getting the hangup at 'setup connection' - I tried on mac via parallels (windows 7) and a windows 8 machine.
I can successfully install a ROM via CWM but the phone gets stuck in a boot loop (samsung galaxy y splash screen) so I'm guessing I have a kernel problem? When I try flashing a new kernel I get the "error mounting /sd-ext!" message, and the same when I try to format it via CWM. I found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1750888, but I cannot boot the phone so I guess I'm stuck.
My last install attempt was these
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2462914 - V3LenoxEvolution ---- SUCCESSFUL INSTALL.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2644262 - Blackheart kernel ---- FAILED, error mounting /sd-ext
Got any other ideas guys? Or do you know where I'm going wrong?
I think I'm in way over my head :s
Many thanks once again!
EDIT: some additional information, I cannot reboot to bootloader, and as far as I can tell I can't replace the custom recovery CWM v6 (I find a different version, boot into CWM v6, click install .zip from sd card and say CWM v5 launches, but when I reboot it's back to v6)
Flash stock rom via odin....
Flashing other diffrent ROM packages won't help until you have right bootable kernel...
So put your efforts towards making it to boot up on a stock firmware....
By ODIN mode
Try installing drivers and checking that no other device is connected to pc via USB.
Also make sure you follow the guide properly....
Then post errors ...or try google...
We'll help...

Please Help,
Two days ago my A500 freezes!
Had to force a shutdown, at start got stuck on Acer logo!
Tried the 4 official updates everyone talked about with no luck!
The only one that solved my problem was the original 3.x Honeycomb ROM:
SD_Acer_A501_Android 3.2.1_4.066.29_COM_GEN1
That Solved!
Then I downloaded a suposed Acer A500 Stock Rom to update from 3.2 to 4.0.3. Didn't notice was a rooted one, update completed then got an error.
ROM used: Acer_A500_Stock_ROM_v1.054.00_ww_gen1_rooted_4.0.3 _ICS
Now I can not even load stock recovery (vol-+ power), only power light turns on and off as i press power. No vibrate, no acer logo only a black screen!!
Can anyone help? Ideias?
PS: The A500 always was stock, no root, no special recevory, etc.
Thanks,
PereiraMan.
update
:fingers-crossed:
For the record it seams that my A500 is in APX mode.
After using a fresh install of Windows 7 with th Acer drivers, the fantastic OTA Tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1675939
Detected my A500 as in APX mode, and has an advanced feature specific for those like I stuck on APX mode that let's us Install Bootloader and Recovery.
First try didn't work: I downloaded and tried to install TWRP recovery and ICS Bootloader, it was stuck on FASE 2 (flashing recovery).
Will try this night with A500_Thor_Recovery_1.7.3.a500apx. :fingers-crossed:
Thanks,
PereiraMan.
No luck yet
Not giving up... no yet!
On the Windows Device Manager it detects tha A500 like "Acer USB Boot-recovery Driver"
The other night a think it was different, something like APX...
Any way in the system tray on the USB devices always shows APX device.
APX Tool and OTA Tool detect the A500 in APX mode, but none of them can flash a recovery... Windows Drivers issue?
Because ADB via command prompt doesn't detect the device!
The tools use ADB commands, right? And ADB shoud detect the device in APX mode, right?
Any APX expert?
More info:
in the driver details I have this values: "USB\VID_0955&PID_7820\5&24FD8A70&0&1"
Read somewhere the last digits are the CPUID... calculated the SBK. Hope is correct.
Thanks,
PereiraMan.
ok, first of all we need the patched bootloader to be able to flash a recovery and a custom ICS+ Rom. But to do that, you need to root first, using the ICSRoot tool, see the root guide in my sig for the download.
Then while you are there download the babsector.rar file - this file will install the patched bootloader and a recovery, but more importantly it will output an error if your tab is one of those which has a faulty memory chip. If this is the case then nothing you do will fix this issue
Put your tab into APX mode(do not use otatool or a500 manager to do this for you, you need to do it manually via the buttons) click the a.bat file and follow the onscreen instructions.
IF the bat file runs without error...congratulations, you now have the patched bootloader and recovery. But what you do not have yet is a workable rom...You must now boot DIRECTLY TO RECOVERY (PWR VOL DOWN).
The patched bootloader does not work with HC Roms which is what you still have at the moment, even tho you tried flashing ICS previously. So, flash one of the custom ICS+ roms.
The best thing to do though is wipe all your userdata first before you flash the rom. You can try and get away without the wipe but its not best practice!!!!
Once the rom is flashed you can reboot.
Just a couple of things to note - the a500 is very old now, and so are alot of the roms. You may still have trouble, altho you will have a running system, it may not run as you might want!!! I have not used my tab for this very reason...it freezes or takes along time to do anything like surf the net, emails etx...even using it as a media player seems to be too much for it,lol - I have not tried any of the JB roms, the tab is still on one of the "Flex" series of roms.
But anyway good luck with everything, feel free to ask if you have any issues
rgds dibb
Thanks dibb,
I will try to root, but don't I need the CPUID/UID for that? Everyone tells me that without it I can do nothing...
I'm stuck in APX (my A500 only turns on in apx I have nothing else) and have no CPUID... (i'm installing a Linux right know on a secondary laptop to solve that issue)
Also ICSroot link is not working!
About the A500, I bought it almost 4 years ago it had already ICS update available OTA that I apply in the first day... True it's a litle slow now when loaded with apps... A couple days ago when recovered from the "acer logo" symptom with acer recovery and honeycomb ROM I was susprise how fast it was (and yes without any apps). I was thinking about a light costum ROM or Cyanogen UnOfficial stable (version 10 i think) when i recover it.... Hope so! :fingers-crossed:
Thanks,
PereiraMan.

YES YOU DO NEED CPUD!! Sorry, did not realise you did not have that. NONE of the auto tools will work without'!-This changes everything.
You are limited to a couple of choices to retrieve your UID
Hope your PC has stored it by you previously having Tabconnected to Pc via USB- there's a tool in my CPUIDGuide,1 forget nowwhat it is called.EDIT: USBdeview
OR
installing Linux.
I am pressed for time right at this minute will await
your reply as to this development

Success!!!
Finally Got my uid via Linux, was hard to install Linux, all my old CD's where broken, had to create a usb pen!
Anyway, my A500 UID: 0x37001474420a157
But that 17 digits, so realized the leading 0x is not part of the UID!
Flashed Bundle 17 with APX Flash Utility!
Now going to try some ROMs...
Thanks dibb!
