Hyperdroid Update Tutorial - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hello everyone,
I flashed Hyperdroid about half a year ago and today I decided that it's time for me to update my HD2.
I looked in the Hyperdroid thread, but I couldn't find any tutorial or "This file you need for update" or something like that...
Someone here can help me?
Thank you a lot,
frost-bit

This is the release post of 5.9.0 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22959907&postcount=18891

To update your ROM while retaining user data. Follow steps below.
1. In CWM go to mounts and storage
2. Format BOOT and SYSTEM ONLY!!!
3. Clear cache and dalvik cache
3. Press back button
4. Flash the new ROM.zip file from link above or the latest which is 5.10
5. Reboot

Since hyperdroid is a CM7 ROM just like Typhoon, I would assume the update process is the same. Just flash the new updated ROM over the old one and all your data will be retained, although any system apps you've uninstalled will be restored, and the kernel will be restored to the same one which originally came with the ROM if you changed it

Openfire ROM Problem

Apologies for the double post but I'm dying to get my wildfire back working.
Rooted it yesterday with unrevoked, attempted to add the Openfire ROM this morning with everything going fine untill the reboot. I'm now stuck on the white HTC screen and have been for the last hour. Any help would be great, cheers.
did u do nandriod back up first

I backed up the stock firmware I already had manually, before it prompted on the flash.
did you do a full wipe before flashing the rom?
No i didn't, thought it would be safer incase something went wrong?
run your restore then I couldn't get it to work either

if you did a nandroid backup of your stock rom then you should be fine to wipe, since you did not wipe and flashed the new rom over your stock rom, apps and settings will conflict, therefore not work...
Right I see, I'm currently going through what I'm guessing is the restore....recovery - Nandroid, I'll let you know how I get on.
Thanks again.
Nope I seem to be getting nowhere here, can someone point me in the direction of the restore?
you didn't do nandroid backup did you haha, you'll have to install an RUU file to return to stock rom, or just do a full wipe and flash a new rom like openfire or wildpuzzle.
Where can I find the RUU file and how do I access my SD card? USB won't let me get to it, I'm guessing the phone is in charge mode?
go into recovery - partitons menu - mount sd card (or somthing like that) to open your memory card
Spot on, I'm on downloading an ruu file now, going to load it up with a stock rom then try flashing it again, but wiping it this time.
Infact how do I do a full wipe? I'm after the easiest way to get the phone booting up so I can flash it properly?
Anyone?
I'm still no further than I was three hours ago!
EDIT:
BREAKTHROUGH!!! =D
Restored it to before I flashed it incorrectly. Nearly threw the phone across the room in excitement.
go into clockwork recovery and click the title "wipe data/factory reset" and then flash the ROM you want to use.. to install a ROM:
- "install zip from sdcard"
- "Choose zip from sdcard"
- "click the zipfile"
- "yes"
- "reboot"
and if you want to install RUU dont ask me never done that

From the HBOOT screen go to recovery, then nandroid, restore, and to the appropriate time/date.
I've still had no luck with actually flashing the phone though. Back to Android 2.1 for me.
I'm 99% percent sure you have the OC issue some ppl incl myself on here have - try reinstalling openfire if thats what you wanna use - and then go to wildpuzzle thread - dl 0050 and flash it. If i'm correct phone will be fine and use openfire - but will NOT be overclockable. I wish Jacob had my phone or got hold of a phone w that problem...
I had problems with the Wildpuzzle 8.0.11 ROM, it would just sit there (did a ADB logcat on it, but I've lost the actual log... sorry! ) ignoring a duplicate entry (yeah, I did a full wipe . Removed WP and put on the latest OpenFire ROM... omg... what a difference to the stock ROM! Soooo much faster, even before I overclocked it.
I'd say, if you have boot issues with WP give OpenFire a go. Certainly worked a treat on my Wildfire.

Cant install a rom

Hello everyone,
This is my first post here but i'm not new here. I have a rooted htc wildfire. I installed a few roms but after wildpuzzle 0.6 it isn't possible for me to update/ flash to Wildpuzzle 0.7. I tried different roms but al wit the same problem. I wiped my data and i restored the factory settings. I also format my but still no luck.
I recovered my phone using a nand backup. I'm on an old 2.1 rom again. Does anyone know the problem. I will make a picture if you need to.
Thank you
Specifically, what error / problem do you face when you tried to update from WildPuzzle 0.6 to 0.7? Also, what procedure are you using to update the ROM / Install the ROM? You should just choose the Install Zip from SDC in the Recovery Menu, and, it should automatically update the ROM.
I wanted to make a picture but its fixed. I turned signature off and now its working. Thank you for your anwser.

Hey guys, i really need help here

I'm currently using the wildfire. I rooted it and installed rom manager.
I did backup my rom (CWRv3.2.0) and installed the wildpuzzle rom (Newest one).
But i think forgot to wipe off the data. After installing the rom, it booted fine but it says that my phone memory was low.
I waited for a very long time but it does not respond. Hence, i thought something was wrong and tried to go to cwr and did a factory reset.
But now it gives me a black screen after the htc logo.
And after 10 to20 minutes and it still does not respond. I went back and did a restore(before the wildpuzzle rom I've installed)and it came out that my phone cannot boot and stucked in a loop. (after 2 turns it went back to cwr)
I'm scared that i might bricked my phone.
Help please! Much appreciated!
When you do a Factory Reset in Clockworkmod, you need to flash a ROM again. Also, if you read the thread completely, WildPuzzle 2.3.2 does NOT work. It was released untested by danne (as he stated), and, various tests by users show it didnt boot.
EDIT: And if you are talking about Android 2.2 Sense ROM's, you will need to flash it using Clockworkmod 2.x. They are not supported on 3.x
So do i have to flash a new rom like CyanogenMod ? Sorry, I'm a complete noob at these. Edit: Its the Wildpuzzle 2.2 froyo v0.8 rom.

Yeah flash the CyanogenMod 7 ROM. But before you install this ROM please make sure to Wipe the data, Clear cache partition and also to clear dalvik cache and then proceed to install the CM7 ROM
Yes! Thanks a lot! Flashed Cm7 Nightly Builds 2.3.4. Running perfectly
EDIT: Wifi does not connect lol, stucked on locating ip address.

[Q] Any way of rolling back from ICS to Gingerbread on HTC HD2 T-Mobile

I have recently ported NexusHD2-ICS-CM9_V1.4 on my HTC HD2(T-Mobile) and I need to downgrade this to NexusHD2-Gingerbread_V3.2a_NAND_(Android-2.3.7) build?
I just tried with MagLdr with the new zip file, but at the time of first time boot up with Android setup, it complained that some google.com.XXX is already missing. So basically it wouldn't allow me to complete the setup for Gingerbread. Only reason why I am looking for downgrading is because I feel a lot of Market apps don't work on ICS Rom.
For example a bank app has a capability of scanning a check with my camera but when I am using it in ICS, it's saying that "XXX App has stopped working" please report the error.
Similarly some of the GPS application is not working fine on ICS and I am hoping this is happening because ICS is still in BETA mode and hoping that Gingerbread is much more stable then ICS.
task29
install hspl magldr and then flash the nand rom.
best solution.

Dont do that, it's just unnecessary. Go into CWM, wipe, repartition then flash your new ROM. Also, you didn't 'port' Android to your phone, you flashed it.

rolling back
I tried to wipe partition then install from zip file and did not work any suggestions ?
Since most GB roms requires less system partition than ICS roms, I would think repartation will help. Besides after repartition, any trace of any rom is wiped clean completely.
After that you should be able to flash the zip file normally.
Ill try that when as soon as i get home and let you know if it worked , thanks
worked , thanks

[Q] Help please.. Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped

Hi, so today iv'e flashed my HD2 into NexusHD2, Instalation went fine nd complete till once rom starts up to begin installation of language nd ect.. a window pops in none stop saying.. Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped, so i'm really stuck in here and just wondering whats so wrong ive done, and any help would be appreciated. thank you.
Btw.., iv'e looked for similar posts but wasnt the same case, so here a new thread that goes in.
You problem lacks of information.
For example:
-Did You flash Nand or DataOnExt,
-And do You have TmoUS or EU htc?
Maybe You had too small cache/partition size.
Strange, i had similar trouble 2 days ago.
I had no troubles with rom, but My phone started to flash itself into lang welcome screen every morning and i had no internal storage after that.
I tried to re-create EXT partition on ClockWorkMod and reflashed dozen of times, but without progress.
Finally I deleted this rom, was one day with useless phone and flashed it again with full wipe/clean flash.
Now it seems to work like a charm, didnt flash for 2nd day so theres a hope for me )
!
Be sure if You set up good settings for cache and system partition as author said.
I rember, that once i flashed 4.2.2 rom with NAND option, although i have only 512mb of ram and NAND option is for HTC T-Mobile US version with 1Gb of ram, so after installation every 5sec i had same error, couldnt do sh1t.
Sorry if i speak wrong or it's nosense, cause it's just too late to think harder
Give me feedback and check every possibility as i mentioned!
Have a good week
