SO I had a nook tablet and I loved having an android tablet. I put CM9 on it and for the most part it worked just fine. I ended up getting rid of my NT because I wanted a full tablet and not something that pretended to be one. I am having issues deciding one what I want to get now.
I love the TF for the price. But I am concerned about not having flash with ICS anymore. Has there been any work around with the custom ROMS out? I kinda feel like if I can't have flash then I might just get an Ipad2 while they are still around. If there was a way for flash I would be sold.....gotta be able to watch my porn. lol..jk jk jk

New browsers will not have flash. So, the new chrome browser does not have it, however the old stand by browser, as well as dolphin and some other browser still have flash.
It works fine on the tf.
Yup, Flash works fine on the stock browser.
If you go to a page thats built up with 90% flash adds, it can be a bit slow with loading the page. But it works just fine. (ICS 4.0.4)

I think that just made my decision for me. Thanks guys! Are you guys using stock ICS or a flashed ROM
Im using team EOS nightly build 19, as stated in my signature
But official asus 4.0.3 works fine with flash as well.
My recommendation if you decide to get it is to also get the keyboard. I didn't think that I would really use it but with the extra input ports and battery its great.

I bought one from NewEgg today for $289, includes docking keyboard! It's refurbished with 1 year warranty. So, don't buy if refurb scares you, but it's fine for me.
(I can't post a link here because I haven't made enough posts yet, but you should check it out!)
FYI, the Newegg deal with the keyboard dock is 389 (refurbished) -- you have to select the special deal when you go to add the TF101 to your cart. It's 289 for the tablet alone.

I wouldn't worry about all the idiot idiotic "tech" sites claiming flash is dead etc etc.
They are clueless cretins. I wouldn't trust them to polish my shoes. Flash just got updated to 11.2 a couple of days back.

Ok so complaining about flash on the tf.......
I can watch the youtube website 720p and be quite happy.
The ipad cant use the website no flash the ipad has to rely on an app slow buffer times
If you want me to make a massive list I don't mind helping somebody not choose an apple.
Don't get me wrong I owned probably 7 ipods and when the iphone first came out i loved it and gave it a try. Over the years though they have stopped innovation lacked things and there new hardware is actually dated hardware now. Guess I would be classed as a convert lol

Then you truly won't have flash... Among other things. Apple products are good for people who don't care for customization or versatility. My TF can do anything that an iPad can do... The inverse can not be said. My TF with dock is without a doubt the closest thing to a laptop replacement available.
The iPads sure look cool though and sleek... Beyond that, their limited versatility has no use for me.
Apple is made to be idiot proof... They are like safety scissors... You use then with no fear of injury, but beyond play time they lack true use.
P.s. I was an idevice user until the iPhone 4. I've had the og iPhone, 3g, 3gs, 4, iPad 1 and iPad 2. They are good devices, but like others have said, apple has lost all innovation and opted to keep almost the exact phone since the beginning. Many others like myself desired change a well as free will of our content and devices.
Either way you should be happy with what you choose, we are lucky to have these options, we didn't have so many options a few years back.

After reading all the problems people were and are having. I was very nervous to receive mine. But I have had it a few days now and am in love with my xoom. I haven't had one reboot or anything. One force close on an unsupported app. It has played ALL my videos so far. (Rock player) I don't have high quality 1080p videos though. Anyone else not having problems? Or is the xoom a bust?

I've had minimal issues with mine. I already started a thread for those, however they were just minor glitches that a simple reboot solved. I have been unable to get 1080 to play on my xoom though, so I'm currently rocking 720. Maybe I should look into rock player, I'm just using stock.
I love my Xoom too. I've had it since Thursday and have been playing with it off an on. I'm impressed with the battery life. I haven't had too many problems with it so far just one browser force close and the Weatherbug app misbehaved so I manually closed it causing its widgets not to show up properly on the homescreen until I rebooted. Other than that it has been smooth sailing. I can't wait to see more tablet apps!

The Xoom is probably the best tech device I've ever bought. It's blazing fast, easy to use, top quality device. Great hardware, and fantastic software, that should only improve additionally. No real problems whatsoever, even if there were some hiccups the overall experience would push that aside. Only minor quibble I can even think up is lack of Google Voice support at launch... but that's just being picky. Family and friends flock to use it or just watch whenever I pull it out. My favorite way to browse the internet and use Google Reader, compared to either my Captivate or my MacBook Pro... there just isn't a comparison, the Xoom blows them anyway. I love this thing.

There is a way to watch NetFlix on your androids. I'm using PlayOn and watching all my media sources on my Galaxy Tab. I did upgrade to Flash 10.2, don't know if it works on 10.1 Here's a link to the Flash update
PlayOn is available in the market for free 2 week trial, then 5 bucks a month. I'm watching my NetFlix on Evo4G as well.
Pro's: It works
Con's:
1. Buffers occasionally, but I have a slow connection. I would expect it to run without buffering timeouts on cable. Will test at a friends house this week and report back.
2. Have to download the server to a PC and thus the PC has to be running for it to work. Not convenient right now as I downloaded it to my laptop, but I plan to serve it from my home entertainment PC which can remain on round the clock.
3. Costs $5......I like free, LOL
It doesn't work on any phone yet, and there's a good chance it never will. It likely needs a hardware DRM verification before it will stream. Unless someone can hack that restriction out of it, which I assume would be quite difficult, then it will never work until they release an official version.
F play on. **** is annoying. id rather wait for the organic version. awww yayuhh
Just buy an ipad its cheaper and doesn't need to be ripped, torn, or anything else to play netflix.
It also has poor cameras, less RAM, less customization, will never allow Flash, and so on. Hardly a good trade off when a Netflix app will be out soon.

Yeah, I agree that there is no need to mail or update since it can't use LTE nor an SD card. Faster processor is just down right not true since they come stock at roughly the same speed and performance benchmarks, but the xoom can be overclocked to be 50% faster. Flash rocks on my phone and tablet so I don't know what your experience was. Android apps are cheaper and can do more. As for gpu, it will likely change with a software update but if not I prefer consoles or a PC for true 3D games.

Sorry asus, you have failed miserably. Quality control is almost non existent and your software updates are a joke. I've upgraded to 3.1 and after a couple of days my internet is so slow I might as well be on dial up. Pages either don't load or time out, or take forever to load. This thing is unusable! Tried different locations with different routers. This is a joke. Waste of money. I need a device that is functional, not wait for the "next update". Money back please!

A factory reset seems to clear most usability issues with the 3.1 update. Try that.
Wow well, Asus did a great job with the device. Do some research before you rant like that...
The problem here is Honeycomb sucks right now, in reality the hardware is too early for the software (for once!)...
You got to be kidding me? all I hear is you ranting about not being able to load webpages for whatever reason it maybe... I think Honeycomb isn't right for you and not Asus, they've provided plenty of fixes and they'll provide more fixes in the future to make the Transformer more stable as it is now.
Maybe come back in a few years time and you'll probably find honeycomb more stable for you to use...
@rilot
If I do a factory reset then I have to install and configure all my apps. Sorry, no time for that.
@andrewklau
Your explanation is senseless. Fact is that this thing is not usable for me. Maybe the uber geeks have time to install-uninstall, configure, reset and all that crap. I need a device that's functional out of the box. I'm convinced that after the next update, there are going to be new issues while asus tells us to hang tight while the next one will solve eeeeeeverything....and so on and so on. Sorry to have hurt your feelings fanboys. I see I touched a nerve. When I shell out my money for something I expect something in return. Not trips back to the store for exchanges because of poor QA and software that sucks. I'm sure I'll get flamed, but it's ok.

And I have the 16GB Transformer and everything is working perfect; smooth as silk transitioning between screens, no dead pixels, almost no lightbleed, flash in browser plays wonderfully.
I'm becoming ever more frustrated with people hopping on this forum and ranting about how the device is so awful.
This thing KILLS my iPad one and the price left me not even considering an iPad 2. Everything i've done on my TF so far out does my iPad 1 by a landslide; reading books in portrait mode on this screen is a treat and having the 10" screen also works wonders when playing multiplayer games like Fruit Ninja or Glow Hockey 2.
Yeah... so I got the Galaxy Tab 10.1 this weekend to try it out and boy has life been good. This thing is build like a tank and weights like a feather. The screen is flawless (no dead pixels, light bleed, etc.). The only drawback I see with it is the lack of Google Labs (i.e., no Quick Controls or ability to change the User Agent on the default Browser), which can be averted by using a third-party browser if need be. The lack of ports is really not an issue as I plan on using my tablet as a tablet, and not a failed attempt of a laptop replacement. That being said, I'll have to get used to not having the dock, which I know I will (used the iPad since release date). Bottom line, this is a tablet; I already have a laptop (M11x) for anything more serious.
I was just waiting for a root to come out to officially jump ship. Now that it is rooted, I really see no use in sticking around with the TF.
I tried loving it, and maybe, for a split-second, I did. But the fact of the matter is that I feel like I'm going to break it every time I use it and I highly doubt it will last me a whole year. Didn't have this worry with the iPad, and now I don't with the GT.
Later guys! It's been fun!

Updates are fewer because the issues are fewer. How many updates has it been now and the dock still drains like crazy and the battery info is still not available?! Also, no firmware/OTA update can fix the horrible build quality the TF has.
BTW, sarcasm is the ultimate form of insecurity. I'll accept some of your remarks as confirmation that you feel the same way.

I have the 10.1. Theres some more issues with the 10.1 then just the quick tab. One thing is that the default browser screw up your bookmark. I bookmark asus xda and samsung xda. After about 5 mins I click on the Asus TF xda forum it re direct me to the Samsung 10.1 forum. The charger on the 10.1 sucks...its takes forever to get a full charge. 60% in 3 hours....
The screen is nice, if you are into that cartoon look. Way oversaturated for me!!!! When watching a movie everyone in the movie looks like oompa loompa from charlie and the chocolate factory.... So the question is Samsung updates....Are they going to do the same thing with the 10.1 like the way they handle their phones? We just dont know

I bought one because I could customize it, root it, and a boatload of other things that I can't do with an iPhone. HTML5 is way better than Flash anyway. We'll all be better off because of this.

Ummm, actually, Flash is one of the main things I was excited about when I moved to android on June 4th 2010 (evo launch).
I came from WinMo. The skyfire browser on WinMo supported flash, and finally provided a desktop experience on my phone.
Reading the comments on the article I linked to seemed to support the argument that HTML5 could be great, if it was developed a lot further than its current state. Which means, as OstrichSak said, what until then?
And hopefully google DOES have something up their sleeve

It's not like it's disappearing out of thin air tomorrow.....They'll still use it until HTML5 becomes the standard.

Funny choice of words because they will still be using AIR. lol
They aren't supporting mobile flash "in browser". But they are still supporting flash on mobile devices via AIR.
