I'm looking for a testers and feedback on the Universal DeBlur-DeBloat Script. The script is designed to remove Blur and bloat on most Android Motorola phones. All that's required is that you have root.
Since April 1st the script has run successfully on the following devices:
Admiral
Atrix
Droid Pro/XPRT
Electrify
Photon
RAZR CDMA
RAZR GSM
I will test it on my wife's phone on the 25th when she gets her upgrade, but I may be able to convince her to do it sooner if there is not much risk....if I make a backup in cwm is there any risk of bricking?
Sent from my ADR6300 using xda premium
The script doesn't touch boot, kernel or recovery so the worst you would need to restore the CWM backup.
That was my feeling, but it has been a very touchy device. I will try it as soon as possible and report. Would you like findings here or via PM? I know you are testing this on multiple devices/threads.

Post in the main thread if you could. The link is in the first post. Thanks!
Tested and working well on my wife's Droid 2. About as painless as possible... No issues and marked improvement right off the bat. Awesome work!

Hi everyone I have a rooted evo and I've rooted and unrooted a couple times and I am very compfortable with flashing roms because I do it all the time. My boss has a milestone x and she wants me to root it for her. I was wondering if someone could give me a list of roms that are stable and work well on milestone x also hotspot working! Also is there an amonra recovery I can put on. If anyone has the files I will need to root that would be great. On my Evo I just unrevoke then flash amonra and a Rom and its in business. Is there a big change on how to root this? Thanks a lot Droidxers I really appreciate it!

I recently purchased a milestone x the gingerbreak app worked for me

I rooted mine using SuperOneClick root and it worked easily!
As for a working ROM I have read that it is a long process to make Droid X ROM's work with our APN's and it is possible to get stuck with Verizon's network so I haven't even tried it.
What I have done that has made the experience much different is install some apps and script's that 180'ed the stock ROM and make it feel like a completely different device.
Well this is what I did, I searched gingerbreak on 4shared . Com website, downloaded, open it, then press root. The root is successful when it turns off, if it doesn't work redownload another apk..
For the CMW recovory..I searched droid x bootstrapper, again on 4 shared..pressed bootstrap recovery, then reboot recovery.
Far as custom roms go its not many that work on Milestone X, Liberty 2.0.1 does with no tweakin..
Miui and Cm7 works with a script kernel tweak seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?nomobile=1&v=vxZ7cBt2K-Q you just have to delete the Verizon kernel script with notepad and save the changes..the exact tutorial is under "show more" under the video..that should work

So forgive me for rlbeing "that guy" but I think other people are wondering the same.
I'll try and keep this post updated with links to any ROMs and DEV Twitter/Gootle+/GITHub info so we can keep an eye on development. But first we need to know what DEVs we have on board and any current projects.
DEVs:
Known ROMs/Projects:
timbrendelaz - System Dump (Link Please?)
JackpotClavin - CWM
Remember, most projects linked in this thread are likely highly volatile to flash, so please be diligent and read the thread before using anything linked.
Note: If I'm lacking on keeping this updated and you are interested in taking over the thread please let me know. I want this to be as open and helpful to our users as possible.

I've got a system dump and I'm currently working on a ROM based on that. It wont be able to be flashed easily by the masses without CWM but I know that also is a work in progress. I will keep ya'lls updated on my progress which is slow at the moment because my wife is very pregnant

Hoping to see this grow too! , I am about to buy a Kindle Fire and to root it, hopfully some DEVS will help make this a great device
I've got clockwork working on the fire... it's a pain however since we have only one button, but it will still work

Is anyone interested in also working on usb cable triggered fastboot? IMO it's the biggest blocker for custom recovery & rom development
possibile alternative is to flash a u-boot that always enters fastboot (just for devel purposes).. well, but really it's jsut a different risk of bricking
My 2c
yeah i'd be interested in that i pm'd you

Does "any HTC device" include the Incredible 4G? We are having a lot of trouble with that one... Could use some help.

As long as the exploit has not been patched by HTC then it will work otherwise you need to dev-unlock and flash insecure boot.img then run HTC Quick Root.

The Incredible 4G is locked up tight. We can't get root via any exploit, and dev unlock was only available for a short time after release, then was removed. Nobody can get s-off, either. I bought mine thinking dev unlock still worked, then found out that it was revoked the very next day. Needless to say we need help rooting.
Thanks for the effort, though. If you have any ideas on the Incredible 4G, please share on the threads over there. We really need help.

I share your pain Captain. Stuck with the Inc4G myself with no s-off. Got it locked down tight, really missing my shift right about now
Doesn't work for the latest OTA of Evo Shift 4G. =/
There is a chance I might have done something wrong, but I have continuously tried different ways so I highly doubt it.
Is anyone else working on it besides myself?

I am, but I am trying to port it to my thunderbolt and my Droid x. It is kinda impossible, I have tried to install it because I made the flash able boot img, etc, but I get an error 7. Meaning that I just need to fix the update script but I am too lazy to do it right now. We can work together if u want.
I'll see if i have any free time. Doesnt ubuntu come with its own kernel?

No, I checked the phablet zip ( the generic one that is being used on android phone running Ubuntu) and it doesn't include the kernel. The phablet zip is the system (OS) only. The rest has to be flashed separately, phones that have gotten the port flash the libs, kernel, etcetera. This has to be done by us the consumers. I am trying to make a team because I have a Droid x and a thunderbolt and if I can form a team it would benefit everyone.

I'm not a dev but I'll definitely take a look at it. It;s not like this old X is getting any use anyways
If anyone need a guinea pig, I got two droid xs to try stuff on that aren't daily used.

I'd love to get the new ubuntu working on my DX. I have all the install files for my nexus 7 but haven't done it yet.
I have a feeling for the DX it won't be possible because of the locked down nature of our system/bootloader. 2nd-init is fine and good for "close to stable" ICS roms but I highly doubt we'd get a good stable running ubuntu on it.
I've been messing around with it, it will be buggy as hell but thats the nature of the X.

I have a rooted Droid Razr Maxx.
Voodoo Safestrap and Super UseSU loaded.
Wanted to freeze uneeded prgrams and tweak system to run quicker.
Also using Rom Toolbox to tweak CPU etc.
Loaded Nova launcher afterwards which I am very happy with.
My question is that Verizon is asking me to update my system now. I am assuming this is the scheduled JB update.
Since I rooted I know it is not going to let me update.
I actually tried to unroot once before and was unsuccessful.
I still show 0/1 and it will not let me do it for some reason.
In any case is it even worth it for me to do so?
Is JB going to give me anything that exciting that I would want to update?
If not i will just stay the way I have everything.
If so I will need to follow up to see if anyone can help me get unrooted so I can update.
Thanks in advance for any help.
This is the Razr M forum. You'll want to post this in the Razr Maxx forum. Different phones.
