[Q] kindle fire 6.3 update root - Kindle Fire General

I had my kindle fire rooted when it updated to 6.2 using kindle fire utility 0.93 and boorritoroot3! All was well until the 6.3 update!
Now I still have the superuser and boorritoroot3 files but when it opens it doesnt show any triangle of the previous rooting!
If I use the kindle fire utility 0.94 or 0.95 and install the superuser permanetly again
will there be a problem? Will I be rooted?
I read that the utility has some issues with the superuser...will it destroy the superuser file that I already have or it'll be just fine?

would just reinstall twrp with newest kfu
if you have superuser allready there should be no problem
if you have any problems with kfu this post from ndpete should help:

Sorry for asking childish questions but...( I dont live in the us so I cannot afford to do anything stupid..that I'll not be able to undo)
I had already installed the drivers when I first rooted my kindle for the 6.2 ver. with the kindle fire utility v0.93.I suppose I dont have to do that again...?
I just have to plug it and run the "run.bat" file of the kindle fire utility v.0.95, press 2 (install superuser permanently) and wait for it to be rooted, and I''l be ok?

should be as you say - nevertheless it may be possible that you have to reinstall the drivers during the process - take care of the "known tricks" in the op of kfu

[Q] New on kindle fire looking for advice and help

Hello all, I just bought a kindle fire, my current version is 6.1, I heard that there is an update to 6.2.1 that is unrootable and that If I connect my kindle to wifi, it will get the update automatically, could someone guide me to know what should I do to root my kindle and don't get the update please?
Actually you answered your own questions
So, don't connect to wifi till a solution for rooting 6.2.1 comes up.
Since you still have 6.1 I would advice to follow this noob-proof guide and you will do just fine.
http://www.kindlefirewire.com/2011/11/16/how-to-root-kindle-fire-video-tutorial/
You can turn the wifi back on after you root it and freeze rename or delete OTAUpdateInstall (something like that)
If you really want to go for it go download the utility and it does erveything for you no adb commands your have cm7 up and running in no time if you get stuck pm me glad to be of assistance.

Setup adb on your computer and use kindle fire utility latest to send some zerglings to the device with the zergrush command. Easy
Sent from my Kindle Fire using Tapatalk

Can not install TWRP with KF Utility

KF Utility is stuck at the <waiting for device> script
It also says
adb can not run as root in production builds.
the command prompt says <idme> invalid permissions.
and i notice in the video that it's supposed to reboot in fastboot and it doesn't do anything.
can anyone help? Nothing is working so far.
Dumb question, but are you rooted?

yeah, with burritoroot2
i think, well, i know i'm rooted, i just don't know if its with that or burritoroot3
I had the same problem. After the 6.2.2 update, I rerooted with burritoroot2. Apps requiring root work fine, but I was unable to use KFU 0.9.2 to install TWRP. So I basically followed the directions in this post and KFU was able to install TWRP.
Drivers
Make sure that your device manager has the fire listed as composite adb and not just adb. Sounds like you are having driver issues.

I figured it out. my ADB wasn't rooted on my computer itself. I must have messed up something while i was in the command prompt. My kindle was rooted, but my computer wasn't recognizing it as being so.
I now to CM7! and i love it!
Another dumb question: how do I know if I'm rooted
Is there a way to display the status (rooted or not)? Or do I always have to run the Kindle Fire Utility to check the status of my Kindle?
there are apps on the market like rootchecker

there is an app called root check
download, install and give it superuser permissions.
when you root it, it should stay rooted unless you tell it to not be rooted anymore.
or are you talking about the computer?
if you do the command prompt sequence for burritoRoot it should stay rooted.
Thanks.
I'm still getting used to the concept of rooting. I forget that it's more permanent that a network connection between the PC and Kindle Fire. I will download an app just to satisfy myself that things don't change in the way of root status, unless I change it.
Have a good weekend.
Thanks.

rooting kindle fire with gingerbreak

Is it possible to use gingerbreak to root kindle fire 6.2.2?
NOTICE: Gingerbreak is an exploit that has been fixed in many of the latest Android versions and releases. If it does not work, it does not work. I can't "fix" the exploit, you will have to wait for a new exploit to come out, or root a different way!

so the answer is no - burritoroot3 is the current root method:

Is their any app that can directly root kindle fire?
Check out Vashypooh's Kindle Fire Utility here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399889
Plug in your Kindle via USB and run the option you want from the first menu that pops up. It doesn't get much easier than that.
Thx guys! I'm gonna root very soon now. KF utility works with 6.2.2, right?
KFU works well for 6.2.2 for windows
KindleWater for mac.

2nd kindle root attempt

when I rooted my first kindle hd, I started as if I were gonna do the manual root, making sure that I was able to read the device using windows command prompts, had some problems with the usb error and also the device manager error (which has already been covered here)
Once I got that straightened out I used the auto quemo root, and was able to root and do all the other cool stuff I wanted
Picked up a 2nd kindle hd for my mom, trying to root it and failing
I'm able to detect the device using command prompts and I can get it to show up in device manager as "android composite adb interface"
but when I do auto root, I get stuck on step 2 "cannot create/data/local.prop: permission denied"
I've tried rollingback and uninstalling then re-installing adb drivers, can't get it to work
any suggestions?
Is it because I'm trying to root a 2nd kindle on the same laptop? Do I need to delete any directory regarding adb or kindle and start from scratch?
I'm either gonna try deleting everything and starting from scratch or try the manual root, any help?

i noticed today I recieved a system upgrade to 7.2.2 on my formerly rooted Kindle Fire HD, which removed root access. Running autoroot gives me exactly the same error as yourself. Looks like amazon has shut off that route?

yeah I had meant to mention that, my other one is running 7.2.1

eta- nope restes to 7.2.2 and still no root
never mind I figured it out

[THOR .3.2.5] Root formerly working, now no access

Used towelroot v2 a while back, and root was working. Recently, I started having problems with root, so I downloaded towelroot v3 and still had problems. Root checker sees that su is installed in /bin/ and /xbin/ but has no root access. The SU prompt never shows up for any app. Upon opening SuperSU, it asks to update the binary. However, it will always fail.
Does anyone know what I can do from here?
Factory reset & using HDX tool for next step ...
I think you would to try using HDX tool to root with this version for HDX 7".
Good luck!

Thanks, but I tried that already and it just directed me to use a different version of towelroot (which I did), same result. I don't understand, I WAS rooted until recently.
When I had this problem - the solution that worked for me was to find a newer version of SuperSU. The version in the store was the same as what was already installed. Go to Chainfire (the creator of SuperSU) web site (http://download.chainfire.eu/396/SuperSU/), download the latest, install and see if that fixes it for you. No promises - but this is what fixed this problem for me. Good luck.

can i root my 13.3.2.5 with Towelroot ??? i fear it will be bricked
I wanted to ask the same thing. Do we have confirmed accounts of the HDX tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2665683&page=18 working with towelroot on an HDX 7" with 13.3.2.5? I really appreciate what they've done with it and it worked flawlessly for me up to 13.3.2.4. But I haven't seen confirmed reports of it for the most recent version that's running on the Thor.
