Hi I recently installed Aurora ICS 2.04 following the procedure as in the Aurora firts post.
My wifi worked perfectly in the official 2.3.5 but now I have an issue.
I can connect to any network but in 98% of them it connects, gets internet in the firts 5 seconds and than it stays connected with a valid IP but no internet connection, it always times out. I can only connect to a Fon network asking me for login every 15 minutes but all others including my home networks are a no go.
As for GPS it never works, the icon appears in Maps with no blinking, empty icon, and it gives me the last location I had before the update and it never changed.
Already made again a 3 wipe and reinstalled but it remains.
I have valid IMEI and Mac and I do not know what to do

I followed the directions on the link below to update my phone instead of waiting for ota update.
http://www.mobilecrunch.com/2010/02...-android-ota-update-when-you-can-have-it-now/
Now my wifi won't work. It shows that it is connected, but it won't work with browser, sync or other apps.
I have never rooted phone, or flashed different radio.
I have tried removing ap connection and re-establishing several times with no luck. the 2g seems to work fine.
Any suggestions? Anyone else having this problem?
yeah there seems to be a issue with the new radio. My GPS stopped working after the update.
my wifi disconnects quite a bit more. i have better reception with the phone, poorer reception with wifi
FWIW, mine actually stopped working before the update, and still doesn't work afterwards.
+1 on the wifi issues post update. My n1 is freaking out on the select a network page - you click the network you want to join and the whole page refreshes and says there are no networks available. a restart fixed this once, but it happened again a few hours later when trying to connect to another network.
i did not force the update - clean OTA push.
My Nexus 4 isn't connecting to wifi. More specifically, if I am connected to a remembered network, my phone does not automatically reconnect when I leave the range then come back into it.
Now, there are 2 wifi networks in the apartment and I've tried both. I actually just "forgot network" on the last remembered network on my phone because I was trying to connect to the better one.
Since I've done that, I am unable to connect to wifi at all, because the only way for me to connect to wifi before was to restart my phone and have it automatically connect to the remembered network.
Now that I don't have a remembered network, I cannot connect to anything, and my Wifi page on my phone will not show any wifi networks available and it won't even give the option to turn on wifi or to refresh the list. I have to reboot my phone, making sure the wifi is off first (using the toggle on the dropdown notification menu), then I can at least refresh the empty list. When I refresh the list, it gives me an error, "WPA failed. Retry in a few minutes."
I need this fixed. I live in a basement apartment and my cell signal is usually unavailable while I'm home.
I was running the AOKP 4.3 milestone when I started having the problem, then went back to stock, put on a 4.4 nightly ROM, had the same problem, then went back to the same 4.3 milestone. Unfortunately, I didn't leave my phone on stock 4.4 long enough to see if the problem persisted there.
Is there anything I can do at this point before going through the process of bringing my phone back to stock again?
Thanks
Update: After restarting my phone some 20 or more times, I was eventually able to see the list of networks and put the password in for the new network. So I at least have wifi now because my phone automatically connects.
However, all the problems stated above are still the same. I lose connection and cannot automatically reconnect when I go out and back into range of the signal, and can only regain the connection when I restart my phone and it automatically connects to the one known network on reboot.
If there's any information or anyway to try to fix it, I'd love to know.
Thanks
Since yesterday, my Samsung galaxy tab 2 7.0 [GT-P3110] with CM 9.1.0 refused to connect to the internet over WiFi, so i thought of some issues with the tablet and installed wififixer and noticed something strange.
In the log i saw a lot of time this
Code:
>Network Check:
>I/O Exception{gateway ip address}:HTTPFail:Xms
>Network Check failed: trying again
Another strange thing was that it was trying to connect to baidu.com.
Being installed an older version i then did a factory reset and upgrade it to the latest CM11 nightly.
The update went smoothly, and now the wifi tried to connect to google.com [goodbye baidu.com] but as before, no internet connection.
Then i tough about a modem problem, and deleted the modem profile of my tablet [did the same on my tablet for the wifi profile]. still nothing, then i decided to change modem and connect the tablet to my phone via tethering, as ever nothing.
I searched a bit the net and downloaded some wifi fixer, changed the ip setting to static, changed some setting but nothing.
Sometimes the tablet seems to connect to the internet [in fact i was able to configure the google account and download a single app], but this last for a couple of second and then nothing [i don't even know what happened for making it to connect].
I hope someone have time to help me and thanks for the attention
EDIT: my fault, sometimes it continue trying to connect to baidu and not google
For the last week or two I have been unable to connect my phone to wifi networks.
At first the problem would be that I was getting disconnected from any wifi network I joined, now I can't connect at all.
The wifi networks page sometimes (not always) does not detect a strong network even if I am standing a few feet away and the phone has previously connected and other APs are connected and working like my pc
If I try to connect then I get the "Connecting" status followed by "Saved, secured"
I have searched the internet looking for a fix to this and tried wiping the cache partition, forgetting the network, airplane mode toggling on and off, apps that wipe the known network list and some others including lastly a factory reset on the phone but nothing seems to remedy the issue.
From the wifi router I have tried using an unencrypted (open) connection
Now I think I may also be having problems with the bluetooth connecting in the car but I haven't had a chance to really investigate that one yet and it may or may not be related to the last factory reset.
My phone is not rooted.
Build no. LRX21T.G870AUCU2B0F3
kernel3.4.0-4443965

Can anyone offer any assistance to my current issue ?
Alan
I have just confirmed that the Bluetooth in my car is not detecting my phone when it scans (the phone bt is switch on and the visible box being checked) so that's both radios with similar issues.

Im having same issue with wifi... sm-g900r4
I just stumbled on a clue, while using an app called 'wifi cleaner' there is a feature allowing you connect to wifi networks within the app. I type in the password, authenticating is shown on the screen followed by "incorrect password".
I know the password to be correct..
Mmm

I was wondering if you ever got this issue fixed?
I thought I had but the problem comes back in a different way.
Sometimes wifi connects but only connects at 5 mbps.
Now wifi will not turn on at all. ( radio button is greyed in settings)
I did find a thread on xda where some Motorola users were having the wifi off issue and it was due to a missing system file which could be replaced on a rooted device. However I don't have root on my s5 g870a and it's not likely I can get it.
Hey,
I recently got a used Lenovo A7600-F tablet from my office because they weren't using it anyways.
Everything seems to work perfectly fine - except the wifi connection.
Code:
Model: Lenovo A7600-F
Android: 4.4.2 (no further update available for that model)
Kernel: 3.4.67
Build: A7600F_A442_000_029_150401_ROW
Here is the thing:
I disable/enable wifi
I click my home network and enter the password
Nothing happens for ~2 seconds
"Failed to connect to network" (no "connecting" or similar)
To make sure my WPA2 security isn't the problem, I made an unprotected hotspot on my phone. Absolutely identical problem.
One thing I noticed: The tablet is able to find all the networks around me and updates their signal strength in the list without any problems. As soon as I try to connect to one, it takes around 2 seconds until it says "Failed to connect to network". If I then try again, the message pops up instantly with no delay for all networks. From that moment on, the list also stops updating and can't be refreshed until I turn my wifi off and on again.
I downloaded "Wifi Analyzer" and I can see all the networks' strength values moving. I can close the app, do something else or go to standby and come back to see the values still updating. But as soon as I try to connect to a network, it will give that error again, stop updating the list in the wifi section and Wifi Analyzer will not be able to find any more signals. If I close that app and bring it back up now, the list of networks will remain empty. Same with the networklist on the wifi settings. Turning wifi off and on again resets the whole thing.
In short: My tablet sees all networks around me and updates them, but gives an error ("Failed to connect to network") as soon as I try to connect. Then no more wifi updates until i disable/enable it again.
Factory reset did not help, I let the battery drain and charged it back up - no success! I also tried an app called "Wifi Ruler", which was mentioned to fix a similar problem in a post I found on another forum. Connecting through that has exactly the same effect.
Does anybody have an idea about what is going wrong and what else I could try to fix this?
