in the past, the notification bar sometimes force closed on me, but it always started.
Recently, the notification bar has been force closing, but it doesn't restart!
I've tried the notification bar restart app but to no avail....the only solution is to reboot!

Is there a way to keep the notification bar visible while using DHD browser. It appears when I press menu, but I would prefer to keep visible at all times. I was not able to find anywhere in browser settings. Any tips?
There's no straight forward 'settings' option but if you press menu that displays the notification bar. Bit of a pain but maximizes screen.

When I try to slide down the notification bar there always a big lag. Anyone has the same problem? Using ADW.Launcher btw.
Soft buttons (menu, back, home) and status bar keeps crashing. Is there a way to manually start it up besides rebooting the nook?

There's an app on the market, called Notification Restart that is supposed to handle that.

I've also found that if the statusbar FCs on you - it does restart itself if you just rotate the device so it draws between landscape/portrait - most of the time.
Thanks!

Update: unfortunately the application does not work and neither does the orientation change. Is rebooting the only way? It happens every couple of days and is a bit irritating... thanks

I don't know of any other way to get the soft-buttons / noti-bar to restart. Not sure why it crashes - I can only assume it's because of the soft-buttons (since noti-bar is such a basic thing). I know of no other way.
You *could* try and install the Home Switcher app - and another home/launcher. Maybe toggling between ADW and some other launcher, then back to ADW might bring it back alive again.
Since rebooting takes no time at all, I've never bothered with that if I have to reboot.
Check with rom manager to fix force close

Hi,
Is there an option or an app to show a notification when it arrives if you are in fullscreen app/game. I know you can access notification bar by swiping from the top of the screen but I would like that notification (or notification bar showing the notification) shows automatically for a few seconds and then hide, something like on the iPhone. I would really appreciate your help because it's a very important and useful feature to me.
Thanks!

Hi all,
Anyone else noticed this on their PH-1?
I'll get a notification eg new WhatsApp message. I'll open the app or click the notification to read my message. When I leave the app, the notification remains in the status bar. I have to pull down the notification shade and exit again to clear it.
Very odd behaviour. Happens with every app I've got (eg FB, Gmail, text message, etc).
What would cause this and any ideas how to fix? I've not got any mods etc running. I am rooted and using the latest P beta.
Best, Neil

I have this issue when I hide my NavBar and use gesture apps like OnePlus Gesture or X Home Bar. I am hiding my navbar with the Hide Nav Bar app.
When I use the navbars as normal, my notifications clear as they should. Kind of annoying as I Like to hide my navbar.

Ah, you might be on to something there! I'm using a combination of the xda Navigation Gestures with Swipe Nav. Really love this set up and didn't imagine its impact on notifications!
Bummer.
Having the same issue :/ is there a solution? I don't want to go back to the Nav Bar!

Did you try reporting the problem to the dev?
I feel like it's more of an app issue rather than Android itself.
