Hello,
extremely sorry i am a noob and i cannot actually post in the development section so i thought i would let every 1 know about a few bugs i've com accross in the rempuzzle 2.43 rom:
1. when transfering files from bluetooth the Rom keeps Re-Booting for no reason at all it just Re-boots while transfering of files
2. and also the few links which have been replaced with the torrents are not working i tried digital battery, wil etc results came of not even a single Kbps tranfer due to not a single seeder on the torrent, if not i would like to recommend a few sites;
speedyshare . com
Fileden . com
here u can upload the links they will expire but it takes atleast 6 months for a link to actually expire on speedyshare according to my own experience of uploading
hope i dont piss any one here, i love this forum.
thank you
Hi. I cant help really other than to suggest a clean reflash,I.e. wipe system, data, cache and dalvik cache then reflash.
1. I don't and have never used Bluetooth transferring,sorry.
2. Kylon has a file sharing host and the torrent is a back up for when his limit is reached on the hosting,it will be reset soon I think so then all the links will be available.

Thank you very much, and actually i have done what u are talking about complete flash even tried completely rooting the phone from scratch by installing ruu exe files etc. but the problem stil remains.
any ways found an alternative for that in an app named box.

If it's a problem unique to you and other users haven't reported it too (check the RemPuzzle thread), then it could be a bad flash. Try reflashing it (check md5sum before flashing). It the problem still exists, then we'll have to look at other possibilities. Also, did you transfer app data back to this ROM using Titanium Backup/My Backup Pro after flashing? And did you wipe dalvik cache after the flash?

well i did not clear the delvic cache after the flash but i did clear it before flashing i even tried completely re rooting the cellphone by installing ruu then rooting in through unrevoked with custom recovery i.e. cwm 5x and then going onwards to flashing and all... but still the problem persists well m trying some other rom just to check if the charging fixes or it remains the same in other roms as well if it does then it means it will the fault of my cell phone not the rom so i'll get back to you soon enough
and thanx alot

its a nand CMYLXGO stock desire HD v1.1.3
is this a common problem, if so where can i find info aout it i searched for dead battery and didnt show much.
Maybe some data got corrupted. So you should reflash or flash another build. Maybe even your radio to be sure.
why does it happen? i thought we wouldnt have this problem with nand builds.

well, lot of roms use the data2sd method for storing data on SD, for me its pure nonsense (app2sd is fine). With data2sd the risk is very high that you get data corruption and then all the weird force close madness begins. Now if you run out of battery your device doesnt shut down properly/cleanly, its the same as you would just pull a cable to shut down a pc. So running out of battery is the same as pulling the battery.
wow
I'm using CMYLXGO's BlueTopia (NAND) and the battery widget got to 0% i think... i was worried since charging MADGLR 1.3 requires me to activate the screen / turn on the phone....luckily it did the GO GO GO thing and started to boot .... i plugged in the charger and now all is well.... lucky me I guess...
PS .. I guess the battery widget is a showing a percentage or two off

That's what it does for everybody.
the phone also started to have SOD.
i plug it in at night to charge, in the morning it would not wake up.
the alarm would go off but the screen is blank.
now the phone just freezes randomly.
can anyone suggest any fix or troublehsooting tips.
yes im well aware that i can reinstall it again but id like to try and find the problem first before wiping it all clean AGAIN.
why would a dead battery cause this on a custom build and not on a factory installed rom?

Been there. The only solution that worked for was to flash it from scratch once again.
Dunno why the phone is acting this way but now I always charge or turn off my phone when my battery is down on 10 %. Better to be safe than sorry.
I'm using MDJ's CM7 v. 2.6 so I think this is an issue on many builds if not on everyone.

Since u are aware u can reinstall it again then simply do so...Yeah its a real pain but just tk time out n do it...I've been using CMY's builds for so long and have never encountered such an issue..but dats just me...
i see u r still using V 1.1.3, CMY has released a much more better build (but then u already know that), so go download dat...perform a Task 29 ,install MAGLDR ( u know d works) etc...
As 4 y a dead battery will cause this on a custom build and not on a factory installed ROM? ...Me thinks u already know d answer (stick 2 stock WinMo if u think its better)..
P.S. Remember charging ur battery to 100% b4 starting..gives u a fairly calibrated battery.
you could also try to wipe the battery information via magldr?
you choose recovery in magldr > clockworkmod recovery > advanced > wipe battery stats.
tried that didnt work
isnt there another way besides reinstalling everything over and over?
wow i mean we went so far as to have it working on the phone but nobody knows why a dead battery causes corrupted system on a custom rom but not on the original?

running rom manager
titanium backup
droid2 bootstrapper working great
installed 808 and gapps on sd
wiped all data and cache even dalvik
installed 808 and gapps
but when trying to reboot system got stuck on moto m screen and had to get back into recovery via comp and restore and reboot system without rom
i need any suggestions
just a note i let phone try to reboot for about 30 minutes
idk if you did or not but in the things you posted that you did you did not say you did a factory reset before installing. Did you do a factory reset after installing CM7

am curious about new cm7 for this phone as a custom rom would be nice because battery life is terrible
Well battery life already greatly improved with GB on both my own and my sons phone.
I have cm7 on mine and now its even better.
I had to folllow a tip to delete batterystats.bin after a full charge but itt lasts well over a day now.
Of course using the phone heavily will deminish that life but with moderate use you should be good for your day to day stuff.

please elaborate on batterystats.bin action
where can i find cm7 that will work and instructions link
The link for the 902 download is http://www.mediafire.com/?cwignib2ksgwuev
Posted by jackpotclavin on droidforums: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-pro-hacks/154369-gonna-build-cyanogenmod-7-pro-59.html
There is a nice blog by him with instructions here: http://clavinsup.blogspot.com/
Though I don't see the 902 download there so the instructions are a bit outdated, but still apply.
Just use the 902.zip from that mediafire link (4th post on second link) and the instructions from that blog.
When it comes to batterystats.bin I was told to google it, which I did.
I came across various instructions about letting the battery run dry, then charge til full, delete batterystats.bin though filemanager, then charge for 2 more hours....other instructions said something different.
Basically I got: Charge til full, delete file, run dry until phone turns off, then use normally.
CM7 gives us the option to delete the batterystats in there. (recovery/advanced/wipe battery stats)
So that's it.
Now I don't know if I did it wrong, all I know is it gave me longer life.

Hey guys,
I know everyone is going to first think, What the hell, this is too easy what a noob.
Anyway, point is, ive been looking for a tutorial on this for ages and just can´t find one.
On all Android Roms they always just write things like "Also make sure to intall the kernel" and thats it or when you look through generall ROM tutorials for android you just see "Don´t forget to install the coresponding kernel"
Nothing on how to do it.
So I have the following questions please:
1. I want to install this ROM on my HTC HD2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1316632

How do I install the kernel for it?
2. It tells me to partition the SD card, I really don´t get what they mean with all of those numbers?
Please send me to a tutorial where it is explained or explain it, it would really be a great great help. Thank you!
Well.
First thing - it depends on whether you want to flash the Magldr or cLK version.
I highly recommend cLK, with it you can use ClockworkMod Recovery, which will allow you to easily install pretty much everything that's in correct zip format.
So if you flash the cLK version, afterwards you just download the kernel (that's in the thread you provided) in the .zip format and save it on your sdcard. Then go into Clockworkmod Recovery (if you don't know what it is, search the net, and study) and flash zip from sdcard. That's it for the kernel.
If you want to use Magldr, I can't help with that, I'm using cLK.
About SD partitioning - there is a good guide here https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dhXJZPjZzBHcAtIE_jfEeuG988UDUaP7GfZk909nNCc/edit?hl=en&authkey=CLDJw80N&pli=1
It's a guide made especially for AmeriCan Android ROM, but the partitioning part is well written and it should work for all ROMs like that.
Just check it out, if you need anything more, let me know.
Thanks man.
This is great.
Did it with cLK and it was really easy.
Thanks!
Edit.
I need some help on this ROM. I tried to post this question in the ROM thread but it wont let me so im hoping someone can help me here.
My phone won´t boot anymore. It just gets stuck at the HTC logo with this ROM installed.
What I did was:
1. Wiped data and cleared cache
2. Installed kernel via CWM (from SD)
3. Installed ROM via CWM (from SD)
4. After succesful install (with out errors at least) i press reboot now.
And from then on its just suck at the HTC logo.
Ive left it for over an hour now just to be sure but nothing.
Can someone tell me what is wrong with it?
Thanks!

No problem mate, if anything more, just ask - here or PM.
Edit:
P.S. if you wanna confirm that you have the new kernel installed, just go to settings, about phone and there you see the kernel info.
I'm going to jump this existing thread as I also have a beginners question on the same subject...
I already installed a ROM (NexusHD2) and having huge battery drain problems (drains from 100% to dead in aprox. 15 hours on 100% standby with no applications running), but having less than 10 posts on this forum, I can't ask in the thread for the particular ROM. But I see a lot running this ROM with a tytung_r14 kernel, so I figured that I probably had to install this as well and I'm going to try it, but one question though...
Was I supposed to install the kernel BEFORE installing the ROM? Or can I just go and install the kernel now and all will be dandy?
Thanks.
Just flash Rom again in Recovery mod then flash kernel later on. It's gonna be fine, I believe.

Why should I do a recovery flash of my ROM and then flash kernel afterwards instead of just flashing the kernel right now if that is possible?
The ROM was flashed friday afternoon, so it's a pretty clean ROM.
You can flash kernel at anytime, you don't have to reflash anything.
Also, it might not be the kernel, which is responsible for your battery life.
Search for thread called something like ultimate battery guide for android and there are all things you can do to check what's wrong and make your battery life great. I did that, and am very satisfied.

I'm currently running the existing ROM on my SD card, and I'm not experiencing any battery drain what so ever...
I've also installed the ROM in NAND previously and didn't experience any heavy battery drain as well.
But to answer your question, no you weren't suppose to install the kernel before installing the ROM; The ROM (in SD or NAND format) already comes with a compiled kernel (It's a file called zImage).
You can install the kernel and you should just be dandy. Just remember that your battery life is heavily influenced by your cell reception and by the synching that occurs in the background.
To give you a reference, my phone is at 89% has been on standby for 13.5 hours with WIFI ON and data ON, but with data synching turned OFF for facebook and gmail. I'm also currently running it through the SD card with kernel r13. You should get similar results with the newer or existing kernel.

Is this with the NexusHD2 ROM?
When my phone is "sleeping" with screen/WiFi/Sync/Bluetooth OFF my phone is using 55-60 mA.
With the screen on and lowest standard brightness setting it is at 115-125 mA

That means that you have a lurking app that keeps your phome from going into standby,so called partial wake.
Go into you app Spare Parts, click on battery history, choose other usage, since last boot or unplugged.
The screen on and running percentages tell you about the wake lock.
If it is nearly the same, that means you have almost no partial wakes.
If running is much higher, than screen on, that means you have some app that keeps phone awake.
Now choose partial wake usage in Spare Parts and it'll show you the apps.
And now you either uninstall them or change settings.
I'm on AmeriCan Android rom, getting 1-4mAh consumption in standby.

Yep, this is with the NexusHD2 ROM. My phone during standby, only draws about 2-4mA.
55-60mA during sleep/standby is not normal. Are you in an area with bad cell reception?
Not having any issues anyone else is having... love the ROM is running pretty smooth so far... but I noticed that my internal storage is almost all used up after flashing... says I have 0.92GB left out of a total of 4.48GB... this can't be correct... where did all my space go... is anyone else having the same result...

Are you using SafeStrap?
No safestrap... unlocked bootloader, root, cwm 6.0.3.2... I had previously installed SlimBean, PACman, Eclipse 1.2 neither of those had low internal storage space... before installing Eclipse I use toolkit utility 1.20 to start fresh for this install... did a clean install, wiped system/data, cache, davlik, rebooted recovery wiped again, installed rom, wiped cache, davlik and battery stats rebooted and let it settle for about 15min.
Think iam going to reflash and see what happens as soon as my phone charges...

Do you have any "0" folders? After I flashed like 4 different roms trying them all out, I found out I had several 0 folders inside one another. They were each filled up with the typical /sdcard folders and files, and taking up a ridiculous amount of room. Also, when I would delete these folders, they would re-appear after restarting the phone. Annoying as hell..
I believe wiping /system before installing new roms fixed it for me, but it could also have been using twrp instead of cwm.
I did another clean install but this time I formated system first and now I got 4.31GB freed up... Good to go now! Has been running pretty smooth so far and for some reason I got the best battery life I have had since getting the phone. Got like 30 hrs... most of that is idle time with about 3hrs on screen... Going to stick with this ROM as my dd for now, cause it seems to like my phone!!!

I also love this rom very much, for it's beter battery life. But unfortunately, I can't open the web page of Version 3 in my country. So, can you upload the lastest rom in other network disk? thanks a lot. Or sent to my mailbox, if It is convenient.
no WiFi on Eclipse ROM
Eclipse 5.0 v.3 ran great after first clean install. Then I reinstalled it with same inverted Gapps as first time but WiFi wont work, First time I had to reboot to get WiFi to stay on with weak signal, which is very important since its always weak, but all installs after that have been without WiFi. Any idea why? Just tried a different ROM but having worse difficulties now, lol.
ok, i see that I am on Europe WiFi region code and cant get off of it so I must have install something for the RAZR I somewhere I guess. Will try another fresh clean install without any extras of Inverted Apps. And the OSE ROM I just installed has an issue with the AOSP keyboard so it wont work OK, it seems that not only have I lost WiFi (unless Im in Europe) but also 4G, since in Europe I believe they are on a 3G platform on Verizon. IDK, but flashing a ROM over this is not going to help. Time to try the RSD Lite restoration. Ugh!
I wanted to get imperial kernel v3.3 since they added a google services battery fix
Ran script wiped etc... Phone just stays on model number inital boot screen. :0 This also happened on a stock root rom i tried.
Hybridmax works great but ive got passive battery drain and its a bit outdated. With hulk i cant get wifi working Maybe if tw v2 comes out itll work!? . Kushan seems unstable.
I was hoping imperial would patch the problem yet still no changes :/
any advice?
Try this.
*Update your recovery.
*download the zip again
*flash the file
*clear cache and dalvinks.
*remove the battery and keep it away for 1 min or so.
*place the battery again and turn the phone on
Revert.

I tried your advice before with no results.
Im guessing if trying on a clean install of a different rom had the same problem then the issue lies in a strange place
The other rom was a stock with root :0 so im guessing king of similar to what im running now. Maybe the stock roms have some problems ?
