3.1 or 3.2 roms for A501?

As a special forum for the A501 is still missing, I am asking here:
Is there any custom rom with HC 3.1 or 3.2 that also supports the 3G modem in the A501?
Acer is making fools out of us not providing an update to 3.1. That's ridiculous and unacceptable... I am so angry, you won't believe it.

there is no ROM for A501 here... sorry
I wonder how people get A501, in thailand it's not available.... yet...

Well, in Germany it is already available - even in smaller stores but also in the big ones, like Amazon.

Nothing as yet. Why don't you try PMing one of the ROM makes in the Dev section and asking them nicely?
They'll need a dump of an A501 ROM to do much, though.

Definetely +1 for a 3.1 or 3.2 rom for A501. Moreover, I'm here to help by providing anything I can from my A501. Plus, I tried several roms on my HTC Desire, so I hope I can be helpful in something (unfortunately I never cooked a rom).

[Q] Acer Iconia 501 Custom Rom

Hi all from the land of oz!
I was hoping a member of the community could please point me in the direction of a custom rom for an Acer Iconia 501 that has 3G support using the inbuilt sim card port!
If there isnt one i'm happy to try a software dump using my tablet so maybe we could get the ball rolling!

No ROMs yet. There's a system dump somewhere around here, but no dev showed up yet.

some roms are based on the new a501 3.2 update that just came out, but none of them supports 3g though.. strange thing

I think that all the 3.2 roms are, as of now, ports of other tabs' roms. None of them are based on A501 3.2 update AFAIK.

The roms in the dev forum are FROM ACER.. That is what you asked..
THE ANSWER TO the above is NO.. THERE IS NO Released update from acer for the a500 tablet.There is no full Officially released ICS Rom of any kind from Acer for out tablet. the leak is as close as you will get right now.. acer says mid April is when they push to ics will start. If you want your tablet stock WAIT..

IF YOU WANT change to RW the /system (for modify some stuff)
an application will be installed with the rooting one,
normally it's will be the first app on your tablet,
1 - click on it,
2 - then press first option and second
reboot your tablet
redo exactly the step 1 and 2
then open root explorer and you normally are able to change /system to RW
end of story. have a nice day

Why the leak one and not custom rom
well I never got any SOD problem, or anything else than CUSTOM got...
CUSTOM are good it's a fact, but for sure the "Official" rom will probably got less bug, I use to have taboonay before, I didn't go back to stock because not satified, just because I wanted to... that's it.
DEV are doing a great job and that have to be said

I think you need to work on your reading comprehension a bit. Erica quite clearly said "RELEASED", and she's 100% right. There is currently NO officially released ICS update for the A500. We know it's coming, and we know roughly when, but it's not RELEASED yet.

I saw that this afternoon too. But in the Engadget article he says they are pushing out to the git repos. What I found interesting was that Xoom got a taste of 4.0.4 today.

I thought part of the point of using version control systems and such (like git) was that it makes source updates quicker and easier to merge into existing stuff?
Will it be a lengthy process for existing AOSP ROMs to be updated to 4.0.4? I'm trying to avoid asking for an ETA, just wanna know, in the scheme of things, how much (or little) trouble it's going to be for those lovely devs.

Who cares what Asus delivers at this point? We have AOKP now, and that is a million times better.
I'm sure we will have 4.0.4 via AOKP within a week. I already have it on my Galaxy Nexus

On my Galaxy Nexus there is a world of difference between former 4.0.3-based AOKP build and the current 4.0.4-based build. A. world. of. difference. Performance and smoothness is maddening.
Deep inside I know I'm being overly optimistic, but if we can any sort of improvement like that on our TF101s as well, I wont regret not waiting for the prime

Its coming. The latest version of aokp, build 29 is already on 4.0.4. Galaxy nexus aokp has it already. Other devices will come shortly as some bugs still need to be worked out

What reboot problems? ASUS have not released official 4.0.4.
4.0.4 is in AOSP repo so only custom ROMs for TF101 will have 4.0.4 until ASUS releases a OTA.

I know I know. Like I said: I'm running it on my Nexus (updated that first) and there is a world of difference in performance between that and the former build.
Hoping for the same for my TF101

Well, i've been testing CM9 4.0.4 build for a day now, and i can't really tell the diference.
Even ran some benchs and the performance is about the same.
No reboots, but i never had then with CM9.
Maybe still work to be done.

I'm fine with different versions of ROMs, but you guys should team up with the cm10 development we have going on here with some developers with great talent, waydownsouth, randomblame, gh123man and others.

This is a different ROM from theirs.
Currently working on getting it running better. Next build should have a lot of fixes.
