[Q] Help: Brocked Kindle Fire - Kindle Fire General

My little brother attempted to root his Kindle Fire, and managed to break it. When you turn it on, it just says kindle fire, and stays like that until you turn it off. Holding the power button for 20 seconds doesn't do anything, and my computer doesn't recognize anything connecting. Any suggestions? It seems like I'm stuck with no options to even try currently. I'd appreciate any ideas.

So I'm assuming you've entered: fastboot devices ...and nothing shows up, correct?
How did he manage to brick it? What was he doing?
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire using xda premium

What did he use to try and root it? KFU? and did you use the drivers that come with it to detect the kindle?

I have the drivers installed and windows acknowledges there is a kindle in. I believe he used KFU. KFU doesn't recognize the kindle in. Its like the Kindle can't boot far enough to be accessed. When it turns it on it is bright for a few seconds, then dims, then it flashes something and the logo disappears for maybe 1/4 of a second, then goes back to the logo. I've rebooted it a few times while in KFU but it hasn't recognized it yet. This is already further than I managed to get before.
Thank you

I spoke to my little brother about what hes done. He said he tried to root it with the command prompt, not KFU. He also said he had the drivers installed.

would check the drivers:

Computer unable to recognize kindle stuck at Boot logo

I've attempted to install drivers, but it still isn't recognized by fastboot, kindle fire utility, and everything else. I reconnect it to my computer and it just comes up as "Unknown usb device"... It came to be this way because while I was installing TWRP with Kindle fire utility it froze and it's been like that for at least 30 minutes now. I've tried restarting it, resetting it, and nothing is working. Please help!

You maybe need to change boot mode to normal

Follow the instructions posted by me, there and then your device should be recognized....

I love you. No homo, of course. Thanks a ton! This worked great for me. I thought that my kindle was screwed Thanks so much for that!
lol You're welcome. Glad it worked for you
Computer doesn't even recognize that a device is connected...
Okay, I'm not having the same issue, but I'm pretty sure I've completely, irevicalbly, bricked my kindle.
I know that I'm not in Fastboot mode, I've experienced that issue and solved it with the KFU.
Here's what I did:
I used the KFU to root my kindle. That worked fine. I was able to load all the Google apps (which was my initial goal). Then, I got greedy and decided that ICS was my next step - oops.
I followed the instructions on the following site:
androidauthority.com/kindle-fire-miui-4-ics-55853/
Note: I know, I'm an idiot - I should have paid attention to comments! UGH!
After I did this, I now only get the firefirefire logo and that is it. I can't load/reload TWRP and I can't change my bootmode to normal or recovery. The thing is, no matter which computer I plug the device into, the computer won't recognize the device. I get a message saying something "malfunctioned" when I plug it in. I've tried 3 different Windows machines (I've installed/reinstalled drivers I don't know how many times!) and I even tried loading Linux on a spare laptop and that didn't work either.
So, I tried the next thing I could think of. I followed the instructions on the following site:
ramble.karrth.com - Section "Troubleshooting TWRP
which involved removing the back cover, shorting a circuit (to force usbboot) and plugging my Kindle in. This didn't work for me either.
At this point, I'm willing to try anything. I'm not quite sure how to fix this issue. I think my next step is to either order a factory cable or make my own and try that, but if my bootloader is broke (truely broke) will that even work?
Please, if I should post this in another forum/place, just let me know. Any help appreciated!
I should also not that nothing comes up in my device manager. It does come up as a unrecognized USB bit goes away after telling me there was a malfunction (it tries to recognize it twice).
Please don't post the same question in multiple threads... especially ones that have been dead for 4 months. I've replied to the same question as a followup to your other post.

[Solved] Stuck on yellow triangle (kfu)

I originally posted this in the kindle fire utility thread, but thought I might get faster help here.
Stuck on the yellow triangle after installing twrp using this utility. I have not unplugged the device. It says in tricks to try and hold the button for 20 seconds (the screen says waiting for device to put back into normal boot mode). That didnt work. It then says to check and see that it ISN'T coming up as a kindle in device manager, but doesn't say what to do if it is IS coming up as a kindle in device manager (mine is, kindle with an exclamation point next to it).
I originally had installed drivers to use adb by modifying the USB_init file or something in my android sdk, that was all fine and dandy. Just wanted you to know where my drivers were from (unless this utility over wrote that).
Tried to uninstall kindle in device manager, then turn off device, then turn back on and reinstall google driver, no go, still says no available driver in that folder (still have NOT unplugged the kindle).
Any help would be appreciated. Still plugged in and on the yellow triangle.
Thanks!
Edit: Instead of reinstalling my google drivers after uninstalling, i installed the ones that came with kfu. Idiocy to not try that to begin with. I'll leave this here for any other moron that tries to not use the proper drivers. *NOTE* If it says kindle in your device manager with a exclamation point sign after you hard reset the kindle, try to manually install the drivers in the kindle fire utility drivers folder and then tell it to boot into normal mode!
All you need to do is update your drivers in the .android folder, if it says kindle in device manager right click and choose update drivers. There's no reason to uninstall. This is where following directions and reading how.to.use adb can be very helpful. Do it once do it right. If anyone needs any help feel free to pm me and ill get to you when I can.

[Q] Bricked!

So i may have bricked my Kindle Fire. I rooted it successfully, did not install TWRP or anything similar. Installed the Android Market but could not get it to work so i "deleted from device" from my carousel and my Kindle turned off and couldnt turn back on Then I attempted the Kindle Unbrick Tool and tried that, but it seemed that it could not find my Kindle on my computer (I'm running windows vista) Even when i plug in the usb it doesnt make the happy little noise it makes when you plug in something. I went to device manager and saw that it was recognizing it both as "Android" and under portable devices, "Kindle" or a few times it came up as "L" which is the usb port I had it plugged into.
tldr; Unbricking tool is not "finding" my Kindle on my computer Also I'm kind of a n00b at this, as far as running codes and whatnot.
side note: My kindle is also low on battery at the moment. I have it charging right now, so maybe that's a factor?. When I turn it on, I get the Kindle fire logo but no animation, it still stays lit after that screen as if it's still on but nothing happens..Any advice would be appreciated ^.^
Hey, My kindle got stuck in fastboot too. It wasnt recognized by KFU and unbricking tool. Here is how I managed to recover to normal boot: Remove the drivers in device manager and reboot your stuck kindle fire, but do not unplug it (just hold power button for pretty long time till it shuts down, then just turn it on). Windows should recognize some device. now install adb drivers and launch KFU. If it sees your fire you are good to go, if not just try changing bootmode to 4000 as if it was recognized. BUT this worked for me. I do not know if it will work for you! I take no responsibility or whatsoever. Good luck sir. Do not give up

[Q] Stuck on FireFireFire logo slightly diffrent problem

So after reading and trying how others on here fixed that very same problem I deiced its time to make a post and ask for help because those other methods did not work.
Ok I did something stupid and I went ahead and did a factory reset to my kindle. Yes I know it was a complete noob thing to do and I should have known better seeing that I have rooted and flashed ROMs on all my other android devices and never once did something that dumb but I did it this time. Now I do have a back up made and had it safely stored on my PC.
Problem is that I can't get into recovery it stuck on the FFF logo and holding down the button only brings it back up. When the device restarts windows recognizes it as an unknown usb device and won't connect and Adb also wont recognize the device or show that it is connected. So now I need to ask someone who is more knowledgeable then me on what to do next. Any help will be appreciated
Ok update: Was able to solve my own problem using the Kindle fire utility and by uninstalling the drive for the kindle through the device manager, then using the drive install_drivers.bat in the KFU folder to reinstall the drivers. I next unplugged my kindle from the pc, turned it off by holding the button on the kindle in and then restarted it with the usb plugged into the pc. My Pc recognized my kindle and I was then able to use KFUs Bootmode menu and once in there used option 1. to boot it in normal mode. Hope this helps anyone who was stuck like I was. My memory of which adb commands to use was a bit rusty but using the KFU helped with that part.

[help] kindle fire stuck at yellow triangle/reboot loop

Hi, I've recently rooted my Kindle Fire device using KFU v9.3. After this, I noticed that FFF and TWRP weren't installed. So I used KFU to install FFF and it worked perfectly. I tried to install TWRP and it failed saying
"Oops… something went wrong with the download.
The recovery downloaded is not correct.
Please try the download again."
However, on the second try it worked up until a point where KFU said "Setting Normal bootmode" followed by "waiting for device...". This was when my kindle got stuck on the yellow triangle screen and my computer has not been able to recognize it since.
I have tried to install drivers via the install_drivers.bat file in KFU, however i get the error "install failed (Unsigned)" I tried to use Zombiepirates' Kindle Fire Unbrick Utility and selected "Stuck at logo" but it can't find the device.
Now when I plug my kindle into the computer it just keeps turning on and off and my computer doesn't recognize it.
I'm using a WIndows XP pc and I have access to a windows 7 one if needed.
Try this..

Have you tried using KFU to change the bootmode back to normal despite your kindle not being detected? After you attempt to change the bootmode to normal perform a hard reset (hold the power button for 30 seconds) and your kindle should be detected. Hope this helps, worked for me for the same issue
I can't, whenever I use "install_drivers.bat" I get an error that says "Install failed (Unsigned)"
Do you know how I should go about fixing this?

Yes I have. It says "waiting for device" and I did a hard reset to my Kindle but still it's "waiting for device" now my Kindle is just shutting on and off rapidly whenever it's plugged into the computer
Is windows blocking the driver? You're on XP right? Try this, then try installing the driver.
Right click on My Computer then select Properties to open System Properties.
In “System Properties” dialog box, select the Hardware tab.
Click on Driver Signing button.
Make sure "block" option isnt checked. That wouldn't let you install any uncertified drivers.

Update your kindle fire driver with the file in the KFU directory.
Go into Device Manager, find the Kindle fire, update the driver and point it to the driver in the KFU directory. (KFU>drivers>kindle)

The kindle is not listed in the device manager because after the kindle reboots a few times while connected to the pc, windows stops adding it to the device manager. Is there any way to manually add it and add the drivers?

I don't know why it's doing that. Is it constantly rebooting? Try another USB port or PC.
from the op of kfu:
Known Tricks
•If you end up stuck at the yellow triangle, in KF Utility select Boot Normal, wait for it to say <waiting for device> and then press and hold the power button 20 seconds until the fire turns off, then when its off turn it back on. This sometimes happens, I have yet to find a clean solution
•If you end up stuck with a yellow triangle, do not EVER unplug it. Leave it plugged in. Check the windows drivers to make sure it isnt showing as "kindle" again. Fastboot is different and can cause this.

Kindle Fire in FFF Loop
I am also having the same issue as well. Tried running the KFU for unbricking and still nothing as my PC nor my laptop is able to recognize my KF. Not sure what to do. It is constantly just looping while connected via USB and if I disconnect it, it powers off.
Any help would be great.
sounds like empty battery
would try to charge it with the wall charger for some hours
if it turns on if you plug it to the wall charger try to power it off by holding the pwr button ~20sec till it turns off to allow charging
noob needs help with ice cream sandwitch gone wrong!!
Hey ya'll,
So I'm sure you're tired of noobs posting but I just need a little help. I rooted my kindle last night and then tried giving it ics 4. So, I wiped everything (as instructed) and before hand I added the cm09 file along with the gapps. Yet, when I downloaded and extracted these two files they came out as multiple files so I first extracted the files to my desktop. I then transferred the individual files to the root of my kindle. When trying to "install" them , the individual files(which cm09 and gapps had been comprised of ) popped up but I couldn't do anything with them (flash ,etc). So, then I tried condensing all the gapps files into one "gapps" folder and all the cmo9 files into one "cm09" folder and transfer it to the root. Same thing happened. What I think I should haev done is not extracted either and just have sent the unzipped files to the root of my kindle...woops...I am a dumb noob after all! So, now I'm stuck with my kindle and when I turn it on to "normal mode" (not the TWRP) the "kindlefire" insignia pops up at start up like normal but it just sits there like that. Any idea of what I should do and where I can get the files to do it so that I too can have the LIMITLESS POWER OF ICE CREAM!!?? MWAHAHAHAHA...really though..any help ?
would try to boot to twrp - tap mount and mount sdcard - copy the cm9 file to the root of sdcard as instructed - install it with twrp - that should do it
you can install the necessary gapps afterwards - if i remember right it is also described how to do in the op of cm9
i just wanted some help. I rooted my kindle fire and flashed everything had cm7 on it one point and wanted to try miui's rom. I did as instructed but its stuck on the fff screen. Ive also tried as b63 instructed. But every time i connect my kindle it shows up for a brief second and disappears. What do i do? Please help! thank you!
You are 100% correct.

If the yellow triangle is flashing and the tablet turns of when you unplug it from your computer then the battery is totally dead. I figured that out after 7 hours of frustration!
Yea I had that same issue with mine. I connected it to its factory shipped charger and about an hour later it was turning on and staying on.
