The official Chinese site (miui.com), is having a vote on their forums to decide if they should do an official port to the Evo4G. I'm just not sure if they are talking gingerbread or ICS, because I can't find the poll, unless it isn't going up until tomorrow.

I really hope we get official support for MIUI on the Evo - that would be so awesome. Don't even care for 4G, at least we'd get stable ports every Fri.

Based on my limited experience with HTC so far, there isnt a chance in hell that the evo will get 3.0
I'm in agreement. But I see there's already another thread with this topic so if there's a mod out there kind enough to delete this thread, since I'm retarded, I'd appreciate it.

I really don't think HTC will just stop developement and not give the Evo 3.0 They updated the hero to 2.1
I'd bet we'll get 3.0 this year on our evo, but not from sprint/htc, but from our fine developers here. then a 3.0 offical release spring 2011ish...again all just speculation.
dunno how many of you guys come from an HTC background. But if you do, you probably know the name nprussell and the villianrom team. nprussell just tweeted about 2.3 on vibrant coming soon, as well as how simple the port to our I9000 is.

I just read the article on AndroidCentral that HTC has finally released the source code for the gingerbread update. Does this mean we'll finally see 720p recording on Cyanogen once the CM teams get their hands on the source?

I don't know their reasons why it's not out but if you're curious the cm people should be the people to ask. They are busy with cm 9 so that could be why. They can give you the best answer.

I don't think the folks at CM are doing much of anything for the incredible anymore. I don't think it is on their priority list anymore.
They only have so many people working on stuff... and the list of projects dwarfs the number of people volunteering and solving these issues.
We should tweet @sammobile and @samfirmware asking them to deliver us an ics leak. They've had a great track record of leaking samsung firmware as long as enough people ask. And there's gotta be a samsung ics build for the tab 10.1 because they say its gonna come out in q1 of this year so they would have to have at least started.

Przekret is from the sampro.pl site, so if you seen this user name, its generally associated with a leak from Samsung.
sampro.pl has leaked more ROMs for my US phone than samfirmware as well as leaked more ROMs for the GTab 10.1.
Check out the site (sampro.pl), its in polish so you'll need to use google translate unless you can actually read it.

he already have a port from the NS4G, its ICS but not official i guess, still works haha.

yes, the title was extremely misleading (kudos OP), however that is big news.
Yeah we have cm9 and aokp but those are buggy as hell because they don't really have an outline to follow.
Now what this means is, since they're finally getting official ics (even though it leaked already, but I'm guessing marcusant doesn't have a nexus s because that leak was kinda like eb13, where **** worked but it clearly wasn't ready for primetime.) we will probably get official ics on the other galaxy s phones since they're all the same, which will make it a lot easier for cm9 to get developed.
Remember what happened with cm7 about a day after samsung finally released ei22 I think? Idr the build but ii do remember cm7 getting a HUGE jumpstart after we got an official gb w/ source.
You guys need to stop jumping down peoples throats when they're sharing news in the GENERAL forum. You people ***** about this but not when there's a thread from a previous developer that's not even on sprint anymmore talking about that yay (although I have no problem with that thread either, it just seems some of your priorities need to be worked out.)
No one was jumping down anyone's throats, we just don't like misleading titles and want it changed or moved or deleted.
If you don't agree, suppose I post a new thread called "Epic to get official OTA tomorrow" and then post "Just kidding! Gotcha!" in the text. Wouldn't like that would you? That's how this came off sounding. The title should be "Official ICS Announced for the Nexus."
Just drop it, everybody make mistakes and I doubt the OP made a mistake. He/she was thinking about the community as a whole and how having a device similar to ours will be getting ICS officially. If the title was so misleading why the opinion of about why it's misleading need to be known. A simple report to a mod or admin would have had this issue solved without the unneccessary comments from those involved

Lol I just pooped my pants for nothing haha jk I'm still pooping my pants cuz this means we can have a stock ics instead of cm9 and miui which means better hardware drivers and faster cm9 and miui development.
