I was looking over this:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1543892
and this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofGJEGInm3c
I thought it would be awesome to have but as we all know Aurora is a clean rom and needs to stay that way so i will not ask devs to include it in roms but is there any chance someone could get this working or give it a go? thanks in advanced
I was asking the same thing, but then I saw this thread
You can't get tablet mode by changing your dpi, but i think that somebody can do this by modifying systemui.apk or framework-res.apk or something similar.
These can maybe help somebody who know something about coding

I know a lot of the files are going up on here....
http://android.git.kernel.org/?o=age
But how far are we away from having the entire source code? What is/are the magical file(s) that we need? I see that the most recent launcher is a few weeks old...
Anyone? I know there must be a way to find this info so if you could even just guide me to where I need to look.....?
AFAIK, everything to build a basic ROM is out there in AOSP... what is missing is device specific copyrighted drivers and libraries and Google Apps.
Can someone (Mod/OP) rename this thread to something that give us half a clue as to WTF it's all about?

Why don't you go find another thread to post in if you have nothing to offer?
Thanks Craig, that is basically what I was looking for.
First off - I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to put this in.
I want to make a ROM. I don't want to make any software tweaks, purely asthetic. How would I do this?
Again, if this is the wrong forum, I'm sorry.
If you are just changing the look then it sounds like you would be wanting to theme. Please take a look at this:

another great tool is ninjamorph from the market very easy all you need is root
hey guys, there is a new rom out for the g2/desire z that is a really nice piece of eye candy, its a different rom like the miui / cyanogenmod
I tried my best porting it using the kitchen available in the android forum but i get an error while trying to flash with CWM... anyone have better guides to port roms into the HD2 ? maybe a dev can take a look at this and do it
Please take a look at the original forum for the rom

Wouldn't know how to do it but damn... that's sexy!
You should try DM some dev's and ask them to port it.

sexy is indeed the right word my good sir, however I wouldn't really like asking someone to do free work for me...
I would more appreciate the gift of knowledge to learn how to port these things! there are tons of guides out there but I feel like those who know how to do it probably know the secret and its a much simpler process..
how to decompile java android.policy.jar ??
when i tried to edited and push it stock on booot screen
Doixanh already stated that he will sign his name on his roms as it is his personal work and he just wants to share it. It is purely his choice whether he wants to sign it. He shares them because he feels like doing so. He can just take his rom off xda and nobody can do anything about it. So don't start a new thread and spam the forums pleading for doixanh to remove his signature. This issue has been raised before and despite what you say, you ARE spamming.
finally i am able to remove signature
sorry dx i am just askink for help....
it is about modeing
Use apktool to decombile

nice .. Please check your inbox..
I never really cared about the signature, it was just there, and it didn´t disturb me because it´s not very big, but since I wrote that somebody managed to remove the signature, I was wondering about how to do this, just in theory, and I was wondering how doixanh did this, because it seems to be removeable/editable without big programming knowledge.
And now, I know that it´s all about editing this file, and I don´t need to ask myself this questions anymore
Thanks, man.
Hey everyone,
I want to get into android development and I want to start with rom porting. It would be great if anyone could help me get started and answer a few of my questions:
Do I need anything special to start with?
Do I need a really beefy PC to do it?
What programs do I need?
Do I have to learn C++?
Is it safe to test my so called "ports"?
Do I need permision from the developer of the base rom I'm using?
Does the base have to be for the same device?
Thanks for your help and time!

You can port roms with different hardware , its safe, just make a backup because you will probably boot loop. if you port it and post it here then you will need the devs permission. The base has to be the same android version as the rom you want to port, and the base has to be for our phone.

I was going to try to port miui but now that you're doing it I might as well try to port something else. Any suggestions?

I can not tell because even I'm not good with porting, my best result with all roms try and bootanimation been blocked.
my opinion is that there is something missing in the guide, some guides say they modify the init file in boot.img for example.
What I realized is that the files that are to be created well for not having problems updater-script and build.prop.
