GingerDX V23b vs MiniCM V2.2.0 - XPERIA X8 General

Which is better? I mean faster and better for game I back to my x8 and last rom I downloaded was gingerdx v09 xd

The best is to try both. You cannot really rely on what people might say as it is obvious that even though we have the same device we have different experiences.

whoah, you're off-topic. Title is which one - between the two - not Which rom..? from xda. Then:
Have you EVER tried XGin , then, or FroyoPro - waaaaay beter than alessio's Linuxperia. And in any case Linuxperia = GingerXperia is a perfect copy, themed. Look inside it, tweaks are only edited from "Ginger" - to "Linu".
But to come back, the title really is a comparison between the two. What do you have to say about that?

Gdx is better...currently using froyopro!!!! awesome ...rom. 1890 antutu score at 691 mhz.. alfs gdx v08

I use MiniCM7 2.2.0 now ..
Its awesome!

I suggest MiniCM7-2.2.0 + nAa-11 kernal, the fastest and smoothest ROM.

for once i agree with Mika, you need to try the roms rather than ask "whats the best rom" everyone will say this one or that one. you might not like either of them and prefer Haka's rom for example.
I use a custom build of MiniCM7

try firedroid 1.1 + alfs v07
1711 antutu score @ 600mhz
2051 antutu score @729mhz

This thread IMO is useless. As what deedii's said when devs release ROM, here comes polls and comparisons, so this will be endless.
Note: Review is better than this and way different than this.

hey hey,
All roms are CM based, so from this point of view, nothing can be said.
But your tweaks:
Open your V8, go to /etc/LinuXperia, and edit that file, you will find in the first code lines:
#!/system/bin/sh
#GingerXperia Ultimate Tweak
speed=2
sleep="sleep $speed"
unknown=0
ran=0
So, why get angry about?
Not to mention others, like:
/init.d/07sdcardtunes/ - edit and surprise:
#!/system/bin/sh
#
# Sets sdcard read cache size and does several other initializations needed by MiniCM
# Mod for GingerCruzt
if [ -e /system/bin/log ];
then
LOGI="log -p i -t mountsd --"
LOGE="log -p e -t mountsd --"
else
LOGI=echo
LOGE=echo

Yes... Tweak settings gingerxperia... but i am using superchange.. no copy..i am angry.
No copy. Fitting. Do not Slander. Respect. I do not want to hear such a thing again..
only, linuxperia tweaks(gx tweaks) in v8. etc/linuxperia...

For me MiniCM7-2.2.0 is really better. Why? Because it's faster, more "clean" (more CM7 in CM7 ) and also works with awesome nAa-11 Custom Gingerbread Kernel. But ROM choose is your choice, and first test MiniCM and GingerDX, you'll find an anwser

For me MiniCM is better.

Best Kernel + ROM

Hi, I used custom kernels and they dont seem to increase my performance that well. I mean they only increase my performance by like 100 points in atutu. So I get around 1600, unlike 2000? Please guide me.
Also can you tell me what is your best ROM + Kernel combination?(VOTE ABOVE)

I only get 1600. With stock kernek + gdx I used to get 1550. So not a massive difference.
I want 2000.

best rom kernel
on what tested antutu ?
nAa kernel and mini cm7 .. best dual touch very stable same 3D performance of alfs and gdx .. also more light and smoother than alfs + gdx .. also nAa announced on the next ver. there will be higher 3D graphics

Not all roms listed on poll
your missing something on poll.
in my own opinion you should listed also Indonesia roms like kuyadroid and gingercruzt.
1. gingercrust 8.5 + naa08b it was fast and the GUI of frogy always remarkable.
2. kuyadroid 4.5+alfs 6 (im on now) this rom is great, you can read comment on the original post. no lag on games for me.
there is also stormix rom which i think not based on hero, and xgin rom both for stock kernel.
for the poll my vote is for gingerxperia22+alfsv6, if you try it you will know, xperiafan is a great combiner though sometime not giving credit to other devs.
i do unlockbootloader yesterday, and i think minicm7 + nAa is the best because more smooth than the other. Sorry about my bad english
ya I unlocked my bootloader yesterday too, and think mincm + nAa is the smoothest.

i have same mind
Iv unlocked it today, and im using alfs06 with FroyoPro 2.3 and its work very well, iv got on antutu without overclock and compache 1748 points...
minicm7 + nAa is realy the best.!
gx+alfs v6
I have alfs v6 no capped + gingerdx i have in antutu 1834pts.
GingerDX 022 + Alfs 06 = stability
gingerDx v22 + alfs 07 = performance, stability, everything..
it's the best combination for our x8, no doubt lool..
minicm+naa= bugs
don't have the same performance, the rom stop when you need to reboot, problems with screen cuts, etc, etc, but ya, don't have the same performance like gingerDx and alfs..
people talk the new version of nAa with great 3d loooooooooll, 10 points in linpack at 806 mhz, bla bla bla lool.
but people don't know that i have 9.567 at 768 mhz with gingerDx and alfs, so imagine if i can put my device at 806 lool..
and yeah, about the performance in scrolling, in daily use, it's not the same..open the eyes. ALFS KERNEL MAKE OUR X8 for sure

I can assure you that best kernel for gaming is ALFS v08 GDX without FPS-cap.
Although I'm using Lewa ROM and Fruit Ninja is running as like in Galaxy S2
But i can't proof-fully say that it is best!!!

AnTuTu Score of Stock Kernel Users ONLY!!

Hey guys!! all those who can't unlock their bootloader and can't get the most from your phone, here's a thread to share your pain and compare your antutu score with the people of your line ( like me )
Edit :- SD card score will not be considered as it differs acc to class.
Here's mine. I know its low but want to see what's the highest score on STOCK KERNEL and let's share what all tweaks we did with our rom.
* Rom - PrimeHD v6.0
* Tweaked to increase 2D and 3D score.
Here's my score before unlocking of course
1796
LinuXperia v7
Stock kernal

Bro, there is a post above which has higher score. So what u think, want to give a try to it or u feel this to b a perfect rom?
I'm not glad to find that cose I like to experiment with new ones, but it seems that old froyo works better on stock kernel.
Edit: one thing I dont like about froyo is partitioning sd card
You shouldn't include the SD card when doing a benchmark test as everyone has different cards.

Gingerdx is fastest but alfs has a lot of bugs (lags 2d, if you try to play fruit ninja on alfs you can see a lot of lags). All other roms (99%) are based on minicm and has not big difference. I am now using presto by haka, witch is a good minicm build. As a result there are two roms Gingerdx and minicm. Find the best for you...
Coming to XDA and asking which is the best rom is like going to a bar full of drunks and asking whats a good drink here..

New kernel (not on our device ), hardware acceleration, new UI and ofc lots of improvements...
The biggest difference is the UI..
Once you use ICS you will begin to love its UI..
On our phones ? Not much. Try getting a phone like, lets say an S2 or a Nexus S which had both GB and ICS and you will see the difference
nothing special really.. but of course eye-candy improve a lot in ics but performance is indeed lower..
Bootloader Unlocked + nAa 14 + PrimeHd 10.0 + Cypress Digitizer + 787Mhz Overclocked + 8Gb Class 4 = 894 Antutu 3d Score + 2688 Antutu Benchmark
Hope developers will made nAa or Alfs kernel with 192mb of ram too or more,like in JB!:laugh:

I test naa ics and jb, have 185 & 186 respectively, and alfs v9c have 187 mb of ram. This isnt better in jb, because of huge usage of RAM on a fat ROM.
The cause of many ppl use ics or jb is the ui, the best, but on our phone its slow. Even better a gingerbread rom with jb ui: GingerDX, smooth and beautifull :thumbup:
gingerbread and ics differences
the differences is:
1.the firmware and the UI
2.the kernel which kernel are u use????(stock,alfs,nAa and anastasia)
3.the launcher
4.the apps install(sometimes walkman ics not work on my gingerbread)
5.name(of course )
6. the android version(u can type the android 4 times to check the differences between them)
7.gb is heavier than ics(without custom kernel u cant try ics like a boss)
8.busybox(my friend told me if busybox for ics minimum is over 800kb and gingerbread is over 650kb :v )
hope if it's useful :highfive::good:
