[Q] Problems with MagicBox on Argen2Stone 3.0 - Milestone 2 General

I have properly updated Magicbox just like santiemanuel said, however, when I try to install the Argen2Stone update, from magicbox, first it downloads without problems, then it says "installing update" then to my understanding, the phone should reboot into CWM recovery, which doesnt happen, it just reboots normally, and I still have the update that must be applied. I think it must be a problem with CWM, since I have not found anyone with a similar problem, any ideas?

[Q] DK17 Restarting with App Installs

I am sure it is probably something I am doing, however, after installing a DK17 ROM, and this has happened with every one so far. If I use market to install software, as soon as it is done downloading the software and starts the install the phone will vibrate once, a bit later it will vibrate a few times and then lockup and do a soft restart. The app never installs and it goes into a loop of vibrating and restarts for a few times, never installing the app.
If I install the apps from a file they install with no issue other then not being seen by market. If I roll back to DK05 everything starts working again.
Any suggestions?

What DK17 rom did you use? Might be better asked in the corresponding ROM thread. If nothing else do a complete wipe and re-flash, always the first thing I do when a ROM is acting strange.
So far I have had it happen with Quantum, Mammon, Viper, and ACS. So no single ROM. I have been following the wipe 3 times rule, so I do that before each install.
Right now I am preparing to try the Odin of DK17 that was just posted to see if that might correct it. Going to Odin the modem again too.
dont flash more then one install zip per reboot in clockworkmod, this fixed it for me.
so you would flash a rom, reboot, flash addon, reboot, flash another addon, reboot, etc, etc, etc.

[Q] Continue to fail updates 4.010.24

Received the update notification this morning, happily started downloading and installation.
Like some out there, the tablet rebooted and it seemed to install but up to about 1/4 progress it froze with a central honeycomb logo with exclamation mark. Thought it was part of the process, left alone for an hour but nothing happened, hence rebooted with a notification of 'update failed'.
Searching through google and xda forum the last 2 hours -- have tried the unrooting the device, plugging in to power, removing sd card to no avail.
Someone has also suggested to restore wpa_supplicant file under system/bin. I don't remember altering the file at all, and when I check the file it is dated 29/3/2010... i bought my device in April, hence assuming it has not been altered either by myself or from any app. Like wise for the telephony files as well, as I haven't changed anything to try to stop the cell standby issue to improve battery life.
I am left with no options unless someone has a better idea. I have not uninstalled any pre-loaded apps. Rooted with Gingerbread (and as I said tried unrooted and re-rooted without success in updating).
Thoughts?
Current build:
Android version 3.0.1
Kernel 2.6.36.3
Build no. Acer_A500_1.139.04_COM_GEN1
Failed system update to 4.010.24
I am located in Melbourne, Australia.
(Last thing would be to download the actual rom and update via CWM.)
open /cache/recovery/last_log on your tablet use root explorer
ypu will know whats wrong
I'm in Melb too, and that particular update has failed to download about 5 times now, and when it finally downloaded, it came up with a message saying "update invalid" or something along those lines. I'm gonna wait til I get home to try and update again.
altering WPA_Supplicant file is something you would've done so your tab would connect to ad hoc networks. Must be something else.. did you alter any other files? I'm working on this same issue. frustrating as f*#%
I was running stock rooted 3.01 and was failing updates over and over until I flashed back to the stock recovery using the Acer recovery apk. As soon as I did that and tried the ota update again it worked right away... once 3.1 was installed I rerooted using iconia root 2.1 and flashed cwrecovery back to tablet... let me know if this helped

Same for me. Had to go back to stock recovery for the OTA update to work.
Mine failed the first time. I rebooted and it worked the second time.
I tried using Acer Recovery Installer 1.5, checking Stock USA 1.141.07_COM_GEN1 and touched "install recovery image", rebooted, and nothing happened?
My build number remains 1.139.04_COM_GEN1
I am sure I have missed something...
Tried downloading and installing the 5th time, still failed and stuck at the same progress bar of 1/4 followed by that annoying honeycomb with exclamation mark logo.

If you see the little bee fail screen, it is not the stock recovery, but still CWM.

Hi .. try to do that...
the uploaded file helped and solved my issue..i'm now running Honeycomb 3.1
Solution posted by Bob here: (correct the link below "www")

Here's the WPA_Supplicant from my A500, after the 3.1 update. Hope this works for you guys.
I'm not sure what the extension is for the A500, but I had to add .zip to be able to upload it. Try removing the .zip before using it. Also, remove the 'original'. I added that to keep it straight on my tablet.
Good Luck.
Bob
p.s: sorry i'm a newbie here and can't post link outside the forum at the moment..
just follow the steps described by Bob!
I did see that different logo, which I subsequently rebooted as I thought it's frozen again.
Interestingly, I tried to push for another system update, attempt no. 7, and now, it progresses and complete update!!! Woo hoo!
Thanks for all the help. I still don't know which one sorts what out though... Cheers!

[Q] D802 Security error

Hi everybody,
I'm fairly new to the android world and I don't know a lot about modding. I flashed Cloudyg3 1.3 mod about a month ago and everything went well, but today I wanted to upgrade to 2.0, so I entered in recovery mode using Autorec, as usual, to backup my phone. The backup was ok, then I rebooted my phone and it stuck to security error. I didn't flash anything yet, so I really don't know what may have possibly caused this error.
I even tried to enter recovery mode again to wipe data, dalvik, etc, but when I reboot I still get this error.
Any help?
I solved wiping everything but internal storage, and then using ADB Sideload to flash the CloudyG3 ROM.
@Unichord good to hear that you had fixed your problem, the security error is most time that if you remove or change files that it shows security error, its implented in the kernel ony I believe not in the rom.

I understand that, if I was flashing a rom, or kernel or everything else I would be fine with it (maybe I would have done something wrong), the problem is that it showed up just after a backup! I really don't understand why it did happen.
Thank you anyway for the info

[Q] [Help] problems updating

I can not find how to install any stock, or any ROM, 4.4.4 on my S3 Neo, there is no way that you can install, does wipe, erase all data, but still the phone reboots when installing indefinitely without I can do something, not sincerely that may or may not be doing wrong, and that does not work when I try to install 4.4.4 sincerely indefinidiamnete restarts when I try to set something, just start, but what else to do to make this work, Original intengo it is to update via OTA, but even so still not working not know what else to do to update it.

GApps not working

First of all, hello all!
I'm a new member here.
So, what's the problem? Well, I recently rooted my Galaxy Tab 4 SM-T530 (WiFi only version) with Kingroot. Then I installed Cyanogenmod from the thread listed at the ROM section. All was working fine up until I decided to flash the GApps.
I chose the newest versions (both Zero and Mini for 6.0) but none of them worked.
Flashing went well. The problem was after booting.
After the first boot, I'd get caught in an endless loop of errors stating that "Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped working". I couldn't do much other than rebooting. But then, I was greeted with yet another problem: it was stuck in a boot loop. Basically, after saying that it "Prepared Google App" and some others, the tab would repeat the process in an infinite loop. I left it for half an hour to do so, but the problem persisted.
Keep in mind the fact that I installed the newest version of Mini GApps package provided from that thread.
If any of you can help me out with this, I'd be very thankful, since this is the same time I install a custom ROM, and I really don't want to come back to the old Samsung ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/development/rom-slimrom-5-0-1-alpha-0-7-t2963906
This is from where I installed all things needed.
Try again, this time flash both zips at the same time and not doing anything in the middle of both flashes. The usual cause of the same error in my other s3 is booting the ROM up, going back to recovery, then flashing GApps.
I never did anything else. Now I wiped data/dalvik/system/cache, reflashed the ROM and now just finished reflashing both zips in TWRP (first Mini then Zero, can't do them at the same time).
Now, I'm pretty much 'fingers crossed', as this is what an error told me. Pretty much tried to flash the zips without wiping anything/reflashing the ROM. That's why I went for a clean install.
EDIT: it didn't work at all. Still caught in the same "Preparing app x" boot loop. Now I'll let it run for 6 hours and see if not my own impatience is the problem.
EDIT 2: For some reason it took ages to boot up. Now, when I finished booting, I saw that the Play Store, Quick Search Bar and the Google Services weren't working at all. I tried to manually update them, but ended up in an agonizing loop of "Unfortunately, Google Services Framework has stopped" errors. Again, this leads me into thinking that the GApps from that thread aren't working.
