Where can I get my HD2 repaird? - HD2 General

Phone is in mint condition as is the screen. Digitizer stopped working.
I don't know if it's the actual digitizer or the flex cable, but I'd rather not do it myself and ruin something.
Anyone know where I can get it fixed or get it figured out what's wrong with this thing for a decent price?

Hey orangekid, you should contact XDA Member connextion2005. I see you are from Texas, well so is he, and I know he can get your HD2 up and running again. I know people here probably get tied of me posting this but his work speaks for itself. Here is a direct link to the page on his website that tells all the services for the HD2 he offers. Hope this is helpful to you.

I'll where he's from in texas and contact him, thanks for the heads up man!

Since this is a very common problem you can get it repaired at most reputable phone repair shops (try Google maps). The digitzer+glass costs at least $70-80 though! Even if the just cable is broken, they will replace the whole screen for you.

right, but that's what I'm trying to avoid, why pay $80 for an easy cable fix? I don't need the glass repaired, it's mint...

There is a place in Norfolk, VA you can mail your phone to. They had pretty reasonable prices when i called a few years ago about something. Here is the link. They have several in the US, this happened to be closest to me in Maryland. You need to tell them that it would be mailed in, i think but not 100% that they require an additional $10 to mail the phone back to you ontop of the charges to fix the phone but being that i hadn't called in a few years this price might have gone up.

So you ordered a phone, and initially thought it never came. Then you called and said, "Hey, where's that phone?" They said, "Sorry. We'll send another one."
Now you are basically saying, "Thanks AT&T for being so helpful and sending me a replacement phone. Now that you were so helpful, I will keep both phones and really give you the shaft for being honest."
Having two phones, you now wonder if you can get in trouble. Well, let me put it this way: if AT&T was to find out you have both phones, they might think you lied to them in an attempt to steal a phone from them. Most people and most businesses wouldn't respond too well to this.
The ethical thing to do is exactly what your question asks when reading between the lines: Should I keep what doesn't belong to me?
If you have to ask, you probably already know the answer.
Whatever...I worked for at&t for a year...nothing ethical about that company. I say keep it and be happy.
Answer is yes they could find out whos SIM is in the phone with that IMEI... Unless you use that program floating around and change the IMEI haha.

Strange, because you've offered to sell this phone to another member here already. You might want to get your story straight before Mark comes knocking on your door looking for his "kickback".
Isn't that like stealing more than half a thousand dollars?
I mean, Don't get me wrong, but you could let them know you moved, so they can send the phone to the right place.

You're probably right. But at the same time, is it worth the trouble and worry? Even if AT&T isn't ethical, does that mean you shouldn't? It's all about how you want to live your life.

Anyone in Sussex (UK) own a Touch HD please? Help!

My HD has packed in. I think it could be a battery problem and I'd like to try a different battery to check. I don't want to send the HD off to HTC for a month if I can solve the problem myself more easily.
Carphone Warehouse don't have a single HD in stock in the country so they're no help. Is there anybody near me in Sussex with an HD who'd be prepared to meet up so I could quickly try their battery please? It'd take 2 mins to discover whether that brings my HD back to life.
I'm between Worthing and Horsham.
Thanks in advance.

That's a fall-back option but it'd a bit cheeky to turn up looking for help with a non-branded phone on an O2 contract. I've just left Orange in disgust after finishing my contract early so the less contact I have with them the better. We'll see.
If it doesn't power on, how're they going to know?
Plus, they've clearly messed you around, so I'd say they owed you

Perhaps I'm too honest.
Riceburner, are we meeting up tonight? Did you get my PM?
Typically, I've just tried turning the phone on and it's working again. (The last time it worked was Thursday.) The unpredictable nature of the problem is half the reason why I don't want to send it away to HTC without doing a bit of research myself. They'll look at it and wonder why it's been sent to them. It needs to be used for the problem to appear. :banghead:
UPDATE
Update
Thank you to riceburner, who agreed to let me come and stand like a mong in his kitchen and try his battery in my device. That short test revealed that the problem wasn't the battery but the HD itself.
I bit the bullet and phoned HTC support directly, who very easily and professionally agreed to send UPS to collect my HD from my home the following day and investigate the problem.
It's just been returned to me about a week later, all fixed. The enclosed job sheet reveals a new main board was installed and sure enough the Wi-Fi MAC address has changed so it looks as though they're not kidding.
Thank you riceburner for your time, and a big thank you to HTC for the excellent way in which they've taken care of the problem for me. This was very good service indeed and exceeded my expectations.
No thanks to the original source of my phone, mobiles.co.uk, who referred me to Carphone Warehouse who didn't have any HDs in stock and therefore couldn't offer an exchange. But then you pays your money, you takes your chances...
I have my HD in my sweaty paws again and it's like having it for the first time again
Glad you got it sorted.

Warning!! Don´t buy from intergron technologies - recivied an empty box!

Hello everybody,
Just so you guys don´t inccour in the same mistake I made, Intergontech shiped me an empty box, I contacted them and they said they didn´t have anything to do with it. After much debate, they offered me the following: We will ship you an empty box (again) and then we will claim the insurance from UPS, Unbelieveble!! (I got the every e-mail to prove).
why isnt it ok to claim insurance from the first box ?
hope it was thru ebay ... if u decide to file thru paypal , this might come handy
http://beatthat.com/merchants/show/integron-technologies-inc
Here are the pictures!
OK! These are the pictures of the event, right at the airport treminal, unbelievable!!!!!!
Integron Tech started offering HTC HD2 - LEO (8585) some 4 weeks before the official launch date! not for pre-order, it was suppose to have 8 units in stock (guys, that was a chem!!! and I fell for it)!
I know you must be gutted by this, but I couldn't help but chuckle at "Invoice No.: HD2"

How did you purchase it?
Ebay? File a claim.
Their website? OK, a bit tougher.
How did you pay for it?
Credit card? Great! Call the CC and tell them you didn't receive the product/received an empty box and to reverse the charges. Order from somewhere else.
Cash? Check? Uhh, yeah, you're in trouble
There is rarely a reason to argue, your CC should always have your back*

never heard of integron tech until this post. Have you done research on this company? Do they have a good track record? I don't know about ebay, but if this was done through their company and charged to your CC, I'd call them up and the money would be back in my pocket within hours.
Oh well, you live and you learn, I hope you enjoy your "MP3 Player"

How to Unbrick SGS2 - even hard brick!!

I've just came across this service called JTAG which unbricks any SGS2 even those that are hard bricked which cannot enter download mode via USB jig or even turn on. The catch is that its a $60 service.
Here is the youtube video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zN7le4GmxZs
Its from mobile tech review and they seem trust worthy ( i think) as they do have a lot of other related SGS2 videos on ''how to's'' and reviews.
This is not an advertisement about them, i just purely came across this youtube video as i am a subscriber to them. Just spreading the love guys.
Thanks for the referral, we have since reduced the service to just $50. You can catch us here on XDA helping out in various threads or on our site.

My SGS2 bricked itself. I suspect it may be a hardware defect though, and sending my precious across the ocean seems like an overkill if I am not even sure what's wrong yet... anything I can test before sending?

Tokayto, I've hard bricked my sgs2 b/c repartition was auto selected and didn't double check but I believe that one of the programs used with JTAG is called RiffBox. Im sure there's others that Im unaware of but personally I know nothing about it... yet. My other problem is that I have ABSOLUTELY no clue about soldering I think I'll have to try sending my 2 week old sgs2 back to samsung to see if they'll fix it. If not then the mobiletechvideo guys are gonna get mine
jtag sgs2 unbrick in Australia
Does anyone know of anyone in Australia who performs this service?
If not anyone intrested in helping me set one up?
I've not seen details of one posted in the 8 mths I've been here. Your best bet would be to use the US-based one on the first page of this thread. Price is fairly reasonable, around $120 AUD once you take posting the phone to them initially into account. I'm sure Samsung/an authorised repairer would charge you more than that.
Alternatively, contact local mobile phone repairers, you might come across one with the gear to JTAG a Samsung phone.

Sorry guys, while I understand this is a good price for a good service, we can't allow any exceptions to our forum rules. We don't allow members to use XDA to advertise their products or services, so I'll have to close the thread.
